I appreciate the way to explained this. It was in depth but also not so massive that you overload the players with information that would confuse them. I also appreciate your voice in this cause it was patient and slow enough that it didn’t feel like you were rushing, but also didn’t feel like you were dragging along.
Finally I truly appreciate you going over what each setting that you mentioned does instead of just being like “boom click this to set your second cross hot bar, etc.” and then moving on without explaining what it does
How do you put actions and commands in xhb on top, mine wont let me put my pet/chocobo up in the top slots for double press.
Which controller do you think is better, ps4 or xbox? Also can i use keyboard to chat when using controller?

Fantastic Guide!! I played using controller but tried out Keyboard /Mouse and found it much slower and harder to target allies and foes. I thought keyboard was going to have to be used to tackle highlevel content, but this guide allows me the quickness and comfort of a controller and quick access to all my abilities 👏👏👏👍👍
how do i switch the dpad to the left stick for targeting
No matter what i do the game just wont see my xbone controller. I remember it used to just work when i plugged it in, i change all the right settings and it just doesnt work although it works in any other game, irritating
I'm having an issue with the LT and RT combo switching, it just doesn't switch at all, it flashes but doesn't change.
Also my auto run flat out doesn't work, been reading about it being an issue with Lb being tied up with the camera toggle or something.
Any thoughts on those 2 issues.. And also this game not having custom nameplates is really bitheesoe Addington to the insane screen clutter, how to get like hours where you have just a few hp bars up?

Great guide! Thank you! Only one question, you mentioned the option to hide unassigned slots. I’ve toggled it but it seems to not affect the empty cross hotbars, only the regulars ones, that is correct? Can we hide the empty slots on the cross hotbars in any way?

Another helpful for controller.
Macro Sprint to the 99 slot. N then key bind it to either r3/l3. (Keep sheath ditch the zoom.) It's not a huge change but it's nice.
You say that in order to target you tank you just press d-pad up once. How do you set that up?
If I press d-up or d-down it just targets me at the top and then I have to cycle through to the tank by pressing d-up again. (having tank at the bottom of the list)
Ok so I’m pretty new and this was very helpful. I do have an issue I’m trying to resolve with targeting however. It seems like the game sets my first target in an encounter as the “primary target”. If I cycle to target a party member ( I’m a White Mage) as soon as I start casting heal, the targeting goes back to the previous target. This might seem nice, but the same happens in reverse. If I target a party member to put regen on them going into a fight and I change to an enemy to start dps until I need to heal, after the first cast of Stone, the targeting goes back to the tank that I put regen on. How can I stop this?
is there a way to access the upper crossbar of skills by the staggered L2/R2 hold instead of the double tap? that feels much better for me. great video bud, thanks for the info
Works perfectly. The only problem is assigning items to the top hot bar. I can tap twice to bring it up but when I want to assign I can only use the bottom one 🙁
