Why does everyone want a house so badly. Is there something I'm missing? I don't understand
This game's character creator is just embarassing
I think Yoshi P is being pressured by the west for “unknown reasons” in regards to how shit dawn trail is.
As someone who recently furnished a medium house; the system is great as is.
Houses are currently for people that engage in the social aspects of the game. If you engage in the social aspects, you'll naturally be participating in social events where tons of gil is forked over. My house won't just be a place I personally go to, it'll be hangout spot for me and my friends. If players who only raid or aren't social wants a house, apartments/fc chambers or large FC houses is more than plenty. If regular housing was available to the majority of the playerbase, there'd be a ton of houses that people never use.
Using your island as a more private house seems fine, but like… if you want to be social and keep it private: Just close your house and open it when friends want to come in? If someone keeps entering without permission, you can ban them.
-Drastic improvement of inventories by creating special inventories for fireworks, fishing baits, crafting, and resources to declutter the main inventory.
-Drastically increase the size of housing storages, which are ridiculously small, especially with all the furniture added through events and the game over the years.
The current storage capacity is unreasonably limited.
-Improve infrastructure quality; server response times are far too slow and have been plagued with server lags for years. The game's netcode is a significant issue that needs addressing.
-Return to the job system we had in Stormblood, with gameplay identity and synergy interactions between jobs.
This would create a stronger sense of teamwork, such as allowing players to share mana to help recovery, provide personal magical or physical protection, reintroduce MP songs, and make MP relevant again for some melee or tank jobs.
Give healers a solid kit instead of redundant or useless spells like Cure 1 and Cure 2.
Merge unnecessary spells or remove them and introduce supportive abilities beyond healing or shielding, such as:
A damage boost bubble.
A true north AoE effect for 10 seconds.
Team-wide instantcast for 10 seconds.
Reduction of tank defensive cooldowns by 15 seconds + 10% defense boost 10s.
With Devs Imagination some buff will be amazing and news.
Apply the same approach to tanks by drastically increasing synergy between jobs so there’s more than just positional collaboration.
Players should collaborate through their kits, which must be genuinely impactful—rather than just offering a +5% damage boost for 15 seconds every 120 seconds.
Reintroduce buffs and debuffs at intervals of 30, 60, 90, 120, and 180 seconds to eliminate the current burst meta and make fights less rigid.
Bring back DoTs for certain jobs; it’s a real shame they were entirely removed (e.g., from the Summoner).
Give jobs interesting resource management that makes sense in rotation
For example, the Aetherflow system for the Summoner in Stormblood or the White and Black Mana mechanics of the Red Mage were excellent resource management systems that directly interacted with rotations. The current Summoner design in 6.0-7.0 is a prime example of what developers should avoid.
The goal is not to make jobs overly difficult but to enhance the level of collaboration between jobs.
This can be achieved without negatively affecting normal content, as it would only add fun for players who want to engage with these mechanics, similar to how it was in Stormblood.
Listen to your community, conduct genuine community surveys, and get moving, Square Enix! Your game has declined alongside the Mothercrystal—it has lost its brilliance.
Revive it! WAKE UP.
18:45 speaking of butts/body, some characters bodies are scary, they are so thin, its like the skin is glued to the bones
things is, even skipping to lv 90 and the msq, you still need to go back thru ARR and up to unlock all the raids, trials and everything else.. like whyyy… ive paid, let me fucking get everything unlocked from a skip.
If i could have a tmog system and actually collect all the things, holy shit i would. so much easier to do it if its ingame
Yoshi P next fanfest: “so all those things you’ve wanted for years?… 9.0… but viera still won’t wear hats”
I was on Cerberus (Chaos DC) for most of my accounts lifetime.
I world transferred to Zodiark (Light DC) because whenever I was raiding on Light (because Chaos PF is dead) I had no access to FC buffs or my retainers, or if i'm waiting for PFs to fill (because yay, ultimate PF can take hours) I would do some gathering, but I can't because the nodes aren't available to people who are travelers.
Joined the FC of a static member and now got the submarines setup, so making passive cash as well through that constantly, it just baffles me how this isn't a feature yet.
Chaotic isn't "hard" from a mechanic standpoint, honestly from a mechanic standpoint it's on par with Extremes, most of them are stupidly easy, the real difficulity comes from having a 24 man body check and atleast 3-4 per alliance having issues standing in their god damned towers.
i'd put it inbetween extreme and savage personally, mechanically on Extreme, while putting the rest on 1st or 2nd floor savage level.
"Housing should be a feature that does not require a sub" while I wholeheartedly agree we can't even get irl housing in America so I'm not holding my breath.
They will never fix housing, if they did they would lose half of their players, I know so many people that stay subbed cause they don't want to lose a house.
Housing in FF is only a way to keep players subbed when they want to take a break. That’s it. They won’t fix it because it’s working as intended.
Lord of the Rings Online has the EXACT same housing system, but new housing wards autogenerate when old wards fill. That game is free. The “but muh server space” excuse is 100% BS. It wouldn’t even be a drop in the bucket for them to make enough wards for everyone.
Criterion dungeons had the potential to be amazing mid core content, but then they made it savage difficult with an even harder version with dog shit rewards. And variant dungeon is stupid easy with all the rewards.
I have this suspicion that Square Enix greater is using FFXIV and Yoshida's team as a sort of financial ballast. They're there to keep the company afloat despite its stupid financial decisions. It seems like none of the money put into the game by the players goes back into the game, and it's like some corporate overseer is preventing them from taking risks… Although, this suspicion is somewhat optimistic, as it takes blame for the game's poor performance away from our favorite dev team.
The M+ timers have basically ruined that system. Make harder dungeon options, but don't use keys and timers, or you'll end up with like the only groups being a Paladin and 3 Pictomancers.
I would like it if they fixed the buggy skip system. If I do a level skip it skips you to level, gives you all the flight points, gives you access to some instances. But it dosnt remove ANY of the blue quests from the world. My world is flooded with blue quests that technically don't unlock anything for me because I did a level skip and already unlocked the reward….its kind of infuriating.
Because of Mogstation, I accidentely made two accounts…it doesnt even have checks to say you already have an email etc….
One thing that really pisses me off, and is probably the thing that stops me from playing the most… is when I try get back into the game and go to install it, i have to buy a sub just for the privilege of updating the game.
No other MMO i have played requires me to do that. I can go install WoW now, and wait until it’s fully installed and then just sub at my leisure.
Is it a small issue? Yeah, sorta. But it’s still a joke.
I would hate a mythic plus system in ff14 based on what wow it leads to toxic behaviour. My friend was struggling with being a healer and his friends abandoned him. He Hasn’t gone back to wow since
Watching this made me realise that all my current criticism of WoW is actually invalid lol
I guess ESO and GW2 are amongst the nicest cash shops for MMO's that I know of.
SWTOR is close to it, cost just slightly less to unlock stuff from the shop to account wide function, is annoying but better than paying multiple times
When it comes to housing, these are amongst the best housing in MMO's out on the market, that I've tried, or seen
450 tome cap should change to 900 after you get 1 tome job set completed.
One of my many gripes is how the msq isn’t entirely voice acted, there really isn’t any excuse nowadays
As a player on the Oceania / Materia DC, our queue times for roulettes is blowing out of proportion. Healer or Tank in need at 8pm on a Friday and Saturday night, can still wait up to 20+ minutes for a non-Mentor/Endgame roulette. Our PF has at most 20 parties on a Saturday night. It's depressing
Love ffxiv but its time to make a new mmo final fantasy….FFXIV is starting to be outdated..turned into single player rpg you pay sub for… they should close the chapter and make a new version like they did with 11 /at some point I miss grinding fest like in wow or ff11 where you felt like you achhieved something….or some hidden jumpúing puzzlez or stuff ,,that there is a reason to explore…or rare drops from mobs that there is a reason why there are any mobs in the game/
Personally, I'm just gonna hibernate till 8.0.
I don't care, they don't deserve consistently returning players until they get their sh!t together and stop riding the high of Shadowbringers-Endwalker to dodge criticism.
The housing system is basically real life, not everyone can have one, right… that is so fucked up
I remember running into you on dynamis and thinking it was somebody pretending to be you like the whole "Zorpla" thing.
FF14 dungeons are gorgeous and bosses are fun…but the mobs are pointless. Instead of differences in mob groups like WoW, ff14 just has us group everything up and aoe. It's hard to even remember what the mobs were named or even were. Horribly bland.
Agreed about Chaos & Light. If anything they need to be merging them so there's only 1 per region so the player base isn't fractured…
