  1. Ranged DPS all getting a buff (Sorry dancer) is kinda pog. I feel like they deserved it! Will they do as much damage as melee? Nope! Not at all! But this helps take the edge of the difference off and for that I am thankful!

  2. so they didn't buff MCH basically at all even though it needed it most. Didn't buff Dancer at all. And Buffed Black Mage even though it didn't need it. (seriously my black mage main friends LAUGHED because they are OP as FUCK. if you are playing it right, this was NOT NEEDED)
And as a reaper main. I'm laughing. Because I top DPS meters ALL the time. I didn't need the buff. But its nice to know the others being buffed wont effect me at all.

  3. Warrior buffs are a real head scratcher. It's like a 1.5% buff. They're still gonna be noticeably behind the other 3 tanks. And even if they do somehow come out ahead of Paladins, the Paladin rework is coming down the pipe and Paladins will be ahead of them again lol. Warriors needed more help, imo.

Machinist buffs were sorely needed. Red Mage buffs are good. Not sure Summoners needed anything. Reaper buffs seem pretty substantial for their burst damage. Though if Samurais wind up last in terms of melee rdps, they're gonna need adjustments in 6.3 most likely. They already took their Kaiten away, can't have a pure greedy dps job getting murked by melees that bring raid buffs. I've always held the belief that black mage should be kings of caster dps and samurai kings of melee dps. If they don't bring anything besides damage, that damage should be a huge selling point.

  4. I think excluding dnc from getting buffs was a good choice, if anything dnc was over performing relative to the other ranged jobs (I say this as a dnc main this tier). Mch buffs are pretty significant, by some rough math I reckon that'll translate to roughly a 2.5% overall increase to damage… which basically puts it about equal to where dnc is now in rdps terms. Still doesn't really compensate for the lack of healing utility and mobility, but it's a step in the right direction at least. May 6.3 be kind.

  5. I can only speak for BLM since it’s my main, maybe my math is wrong but that buff will end up being like ~150/200 dps best case scenario. Doesn’t feel like enough at all, but we’ll see maybe I’m terribly wrong.

  6. Reminder: Potency buffs outside of 2 min windows, don't matter.

Classes that struggled before will continue to struggle unless they address how exponentially more powerful abilities are during burst phases. Reworks are still needed, pumping numbers is a tiny band aid just so classes don't out scale them even faster in the next few patches.

  7. What's even funnier is that. They were talking about buffing phy range. But yet they buff everyone else. Which will still show a huge gap. Fk s.e. they are sooooo stupid lol

  8. Ultimately, this is just a bandaid until they can actually address the burst issue and fix bigger underlying issues. That said, I'll take it, especially for MCH and BLM, but really hoping they are preparing a big change to the 2 minute burst phase, it's a big hindrance IMO.

  9. Honestly who uses heat blast it hits for crap. Why wouldn't you use your single target WS while Overheat is up? What a waste. RPR also. How hard is it to just make Machinest the SAM of ranged.

  10. Fester is 4x for raid buff window after the initial opener which is pretty nice buff. That said, there should be more buffs to all ranged. Melee is practically ranged now with the new hitbox anyway so there should be little difference.

  11. I really don't think this is "ranged tax begone" at all. This is them attempting to align each job within their respective roles, which is why dancer (the top physrange) got no buffs even if it needed them also, the buffs were just meant to align brd/mch with dnc. Hopefully the actual "ranged tax begone" buffs come in 6.3 or something, since in this patch they were doing really light nerfs to not upset rotations (ex: for BLM), and that in 6.3 they might actually do the buffs that will see the phys range role pulled up as a whole a bit more.

  12. I know a slight buff is better than nothing, but Bard needs much more than that. A level 90 bard is a busy job to play for the sorry damage they produce. When I play bard, I constantly feel I need to pay as much attention as I do when I play a level 90 Monk, but I only do 2/3 of the damage. Sure bard has songs and is a support job, but their songs are neglectable right now, to say the least.

  13. Are they serious? Buffing War? Do they want all the tanks to be equal in damage? Cause they are definitely not equal in utility. War and Pld were alr better defensively compared to the other 2 tanks and they had buffs in the last patch. Buff Drk and Gnb instead, they have to use their mitigations based on the type of damage and Drk in particular has to THINK about when to use TBN to ensure it breaks unlike the other classes than can afford to mistime their main mitigation and not suffer any dps loss.

  14. These were the types of buffs I was expecting nothing huge but it will narrow the gap a tiny bit for these jobs which is nice. Since there are larger issues that requires more substantial changes number tweaks are what you can expect at this point. We'll probably see larger changes going into 6.3 and beyond. And I must say they finally buffed WAR the right way ^^
