After all the TOS drama, at least 1 good thing came out of this for FFXIV players – Yoshi-P said that Square Enix will implement some of the QoL (Quality of Life) mods in the base game in future patches. Something similar to XIValexander needs to be implemented into the games code. Having a consistent ~650 ms animation lock vs a 800+ ms animation lock, due to high ping, is night and day. Especially with classes that have to single weave after a 1.5 second cooldown GCDs. Unfortunately since japan players don't have to deal with this issue, I doubt we'll ever see it.

yeah dog, hitting combo chains is super hard. god forbid we consolidate all these super impactful and important skills that completely alter how jobs feel to 1 button.

Speaking of mods, I need a mod, that will prevent me from running into Gunbreakers and Dark Knights when I queue as a healer. In my personal experience, they're notorious for acting like their mitigation doesn't exist.
Yeah, according to the word of the ToS, people should get banned for using chat bubbles. Of course that doesn’t make it any less stupid, and in reality people shouldn’t be banned for using a mod for chat bubbles.
As for me, the main things I’d like are
– Bigger cooldown numbers
– ability to see shields on your personal health bar
– ability to hide MP bar on jobs that don’t use MP.
– Self buffs such as Power Surge (DRG), Storm’s Eye (WAR) should have some UI element or bar akin to NIN’s Huton Bar or DRK’s Darkside Gauge to make it easier to keep track of those buffs.
– the overall game to be just a little more saturated. I know that graphical rework is coming, but that idk if that will change the fact that the game looks very unsaturated and dull visually. Trust me, the game looks like 10 times better if the saturation was bumped up like 5% across the board, at least imo.
– And if we want to fully compete with Gshade- update gpose. A lot. Stuff like adding more filters, providing more freedom with lighting and depth of field, allow you to have other players/NPCs use emotes from your emote list while in Gpose. There are honestly a lot of things that would be really nice to have in game.
– colorblind options (I know at least one person who litterally cannot do O4S, even unsynced, because they cannot tell the difference between the debuff colors).
For button reductions: As someone who plays a lot of DRG, I have no idea how getting all five of those buttons into one button would work, at least in pve. The only thing I would say that would make me not want the single target rotation reduced to one button, at least on DRG, is that they’d have to add in a lot, new combos, new gcd abilities, or whatever, to fill in the gaps. Because I can say right now that if most of my drg gameplay was reduced to pretty much pressing one button, reptetedly, I would be very unimpressed.
What the hell are chat bubbles?
I'm old school myself and from the phantasy star online series I got use to the bubble chats. I wish they could add that as an option for your own personal wants.
Job bars is slept on. I should know when people have swift, or reprisal imo
also has a neat cooldown on your buff/dot timers

Playable at 200ms?
I live in germany, the country were the EU servers are located and I have to use Exitlag, because I get rubberbanding and up to 60 second freezes in the evening and that happens only in XIV for some reason.
I blame the wooden Servers they use, the hamsters in them probably died and need replacement.
What I want are numbers on Cooldowns.
More infos about incoming damage Phys/Magic split in 2 colors like Red and Blue.
More Infos on the Stats, SkS gives more damage on DoTs but how much? Who knows!
Melding Plates, this is so needed for Tank player, I play GNB,WAR and PLD mostly and my WAR suffers from bad melds, because my GNB wants all the Direct Hit.

Range indicator on emenies, most enemies have 14 yalms pull range, but with the recent changes, Tank ranged attacks were changed from 15yalms to 20 yalms range. While it is nice to keep damage rolling, I now have in some fights problems not pulling the Boss by walking forward to much. Yeah tell me to git gud, I would like that the enemies have a number on them to tell how far away they are.
Also give Monk Meteor Dive in PvE, because I want to finaly suplex the train in O5
Pass the rest button. Greed/Need all the things you want, pass on the rest.
Death log. It would be so helpful for raiding, specially when you're new to an encounter.
xivalex/noclippy because im still going to use them regardless if they ban them.
1 combo rotation would fkin kill the game for me entirely because the PvP MNK would at that point have more fun and complexity attached to it than PvE MNK, if you compare PvE MNK to something like SB TK MNK at least, idk how to really express it…
SE tried to force dumbed down version of MNK on to the MNK players so often and every single god damn time we basically went GIGACHAD: "No." and played a not only more fun but also higher DMG version of what SE originally intended.
EW MNK is the worst offender of them all and reminds me of the demlish 21 to 18 seconds reduction just to force us into a dumbed down rotation but back then you had options, now you drop demolish wether you like it or not.
SE has been stubborn ever since HW and hasn't changed in that regard but what they want to be stubborn on next after yilding to immense backlash (like TK MNK).
Personally I'd like the following:
– The "damage taken" info to tell you WHAT did the damage and its damage type in the chat window.
– FPS/Ping Display to know when I'm dropping frames and lagging.
– Better mouse-over controls, especially for things like Asylum/Sacred Soil/Lily Bell/whatever.
– An xiv combo option (I have small hands and you're not going to convince me that pressing 3 buttons where 1 suffices is somehow "fun").
– Buff/Debuff timers displayed in the party HUD for everyone to see, and shit always going to a specific spot there.
– Chat bubbles for the true RP experience.
– The ability to chain macros together or just have unlimited lines in a macro button.
– Burning Down the House in general.
– Pull timer under the instance timer.
– Disable clicking on people on the field (I use the party HUD and tab targeting for almost everything and hate misclicking while moving the camera).
– Better Countdown (display each second to the ms as soon as the countdown starts).
– The Marketboard Plugin (allows you to see prices on each server's marketboard).
– Unlimited Waymark sets.
… there were only supposed to be like a few things, but now that I think of it, the UI in FFXIV needs A LOT of QoL changes lmfao
The fact there's no part buff timers is insane
I think they should have XIV combos (especially for controller users) which gives you the pvp-style 123 combo on one button

what i'd like to have taken out the game is automatically facing the target when you use an attack. In other words, when Im tanking or melee dpsing something and I want to squeeze out that last melee hit AS i'm running away from an AoE circle, my character runs back to the target and gets me hit by the AoE. Also when im pulling wall to wall and a target is behind me, my character starts running backwards while my screen is facing forwards.
It's quite irritating, but the only way to prevent that is to jump and then use the attack while in the air. If taking it out the game is too much work, then yah, i'd like a mod for that extra QoL
Secondly, a more obvious arrow over a players head. I can find the player a lot easier in the middle of pvp or some trial/raid if i'm healing. (Or tanking in the new pvp mode).
What blows my mind is how this stuff is considered cheating. How is it cheating when like almost a quarter of my screen is filled with buttons and their own combos? The majority of add ons for ff14 are just WoL or stuff that literally doesnt give a player an advantage over another. I could take off a good bar or 2 depending on the class and bind more buttons on my keyboard to other abilities. Numbers 1-5 and Alt+1-5, including my mouse buttons are already taken up. The rest I have to click

I like the UI mods that add the instance info and the music track. Chat bubbles are probably a given to come at this point. I also wouldn't be surprised if they are finally looking at Stone, Sky, Sea to maybe dump all the personal info people want from tools like ACT into, as some sort of compromise to that.
Honestly, I think having an official DPS meter could work if only relegated to Savage and Ultimate, where your damage actually really matters because of harder DPS checks. People who actually care to do the harder content will likely want to know if they’re not doing well. And it doesn’t even have to be toxic necessarily. Could have a culture of, “hey man. You’re not there yet. practice more and comeback when you’re ready.” Ideally. Even if it’s just a personal one, for this content I see it as essential.
Literally all I want is the parser, which I guess is also the least likely thing to add. I have learned how to play the game in Savage and Ulti without any of the other stuff, I don't even think about it, but the idea of just not having any idea of how much damage we are doing as a team (not even personal dps) is lame. We often know what the dps check is for a phase and being able to check out much we are doing per pull, or who is struggling and needs help, or who is doing incredible and can probably help…like, maybe i'm being dramatic but I think this kind of stuff is important?
Personally, I'd like the MateriaUiI mod to be implemented into the game. That ui and those icons looks hella slick.
Imagine have a "kill camera" like cod have, but here we gonna watch the party member that wipe us 😅
Ui isn’t that bad, people are just being whiny little b**ch. what needs updating is the animation and sound of animations. The combat feels of ff isn’t getting better. Like for example, jobs that uses heavy weapons like greatswordsnand axe feels like they are using a stick. You dont feel any heaviness to their attacks, especially with drk. War’s primal mend feels good and heavy though.
I want them to put the daily reset time/ a countdown to daily reset in the Timers window. Why does it say that I have 12 beast tribe quests remaining but not when I'll get more?
Death recap is a must for PvP. I understand that it might take a lot of effort and manual adjustments for a death recap to make sense in PvE content but it would improve everyone's experience if there was a death recap in PvP.

i would like to see some QoL additions to the fishing log. information in game on where to find a particular fish, the suggested bait, weather conditions and time, etc. for some context, they already have done some of this for all the other gatherers, just not fishing to my knowledge.

Why wouldn't they want to put string of combos into one button? Not only will it make playing the game easier with controllers but it also gives the devs more headroom to put more combos/abilities/spells into the game.
Out of all the features that was discussed, this is the most perplexing stance that SE has taken for me.

i get bummed out every single time i’m reminded of drk gcd shared abilities like it was a pain in the dickhole to do the opener without stuttering on 9000 ping but it was kinda fun.. idk if it’s catering to the casual or because they’d rather limit ogcds than fix ping problems
I really wan't them to just let you see your own hitbox in combat so it is easier to tell if you are out of an AoE or not, your hitbox is 1 pixel under your character and it is alot harder to judge where that pixel is for a large race than a small one like lalafell.
It would be nice to just see the dot under your character in combat.
I agree with everything, except dumbing down combos tbh, it can become boring spamming just 1 button most of the time, I'd be okay if they allowed that for console players though so they can be more on par with us pc players without us having to take hits for the game having too many buttons
Aion had a good combo system where you would have several buttons that when you hit say the 2nd part of the combo, the first button would change to one combo finisher while you also have a 3rd button for a different combo. Having it in button I think is bad but doing something like that would be good.
Being able to check my friends list when I'm in an instance, also being able to send tells.
I hate trying to prog something in pf and not be able to see if my friends came online so I can prog things with them.
Have a streamer mode like in many other games.
1. Removal of MP bar in party list is good idea as "helping" other party member for MP is non existant.
2. DPS meter on SSS (surr if they don't want to implement DPS meter on raid, why not SSS ?)
3. Bigger number on cooldown.
4. Hotbar which is unclickable. (This is to put what you interest).
5. Hiding other people buff and debuff + priority of your buff + debuff.
6. Shield in number on party list (remove MP for this).
7. Clear damage type text.
8. More clear which debuff can be esuna-ed (only blue line on small icon is not enough).
9. More consistent debuff icon(I know that they want this to be spice (lorewise) of the boss, but just use same icon for rot, etc is better than oh it is eye + dragon + person fear me aka mortal vow)
10. Auto combo like PvP (here you go to trim unnecessary button bloat).
11. Remove unnecessary buff and put into potency (I see you WAR and DRK potency buff which need to be 100% uptime) and change it to more benefit effect (maybe dot (remember WAR has dot in the past)).
Idiots who want macros are just too lazy to play the game, it's fucking incredible
