They need to buff DRK sustain
Can someone explain to me why Coundum is better than holy shelltron, last I checked HS was more mitigation and healing than corundum plus you could hold essentially 2 charges
Why are people still complaining about MCH? It does more than SMN and is touching tips with RDM in aDPS at the 95th percentile. Any more than what it does now, and it’d be doing more than NIN.
Look you're an interesting personality and you deserve the success you have with streaming, but let's be real here: the XIV dev team doesn't listen to western player feedback for a very good reason – they can instead source feedback from their legitimately straight to the point Japanese players.
NA / EU player feedback: NIN is broken right now. It plays like shit. How can you release it in this state. Also here's a skew of other problems with jobbalancing. You know I've been playing this game for ten years…(it goes on).
JP player feedback: You should change how Raiju works on NIN because the gap closer aspect of it makes the skill bad to use in many common situations
You are blunt in that you don't use flowery language, but you're just as performative as the rest of us are. And that's good because it's part of your brand, but man am I over the pariah shtick.
It's good to see someone finally using aDPS when looking at tanks.
There might only be a ~3% difference between paladin/warrior and dark knight/gunbreaker in rDPS, but that doesn't show the impact of how good the job is at exploiting other peoples' raid buffs making the practical impact much higher than the rDPS shows.
Dark Knight and Gunbreaker get significantly more value out of raid buffs with a very bursty damage profile and no caveats that run into raid buff issues.
Paladin has the lowest damage in raid buffs since it has the highest percentage of damage outside of raid buff uptime with either FoF or Requiescat not hitting the window and no 2 minute cooldowns. Meanwhile warrior does have great burst in raid buffs, but at the same time gets absolutely nothing out of crit chance and direct hit raid buffs.
As long as dps buffs for the other tanks come with a DRK overhaul I'll be okay with it. As of right now the ONLY thing DRK has is dps. If all the tanks did close to the same damage then DRK becomes a liability rather than an asset. I would even go so far as to argue than even now DRK is less preferred to the other classes due to most players not engaging in savage content. For casual content, the place where the majority of players are, the additional defensive capabilities of the other tanks are worth more than the dps.
I think ranged DPS suffer the most in my opinion, same for white mage. They definitely need buffs.

Lmao even Xeno didn't mention MCH that job is on nobody's radar. MCH is getting beat by DNC and all I hear is crickets. I just dont get it dude This game doesn't have multiple specs for one class like WoW. There's 19 jobs with no talent trees of any kind to balance vs 36 specializations with talent trees and they still get it THIS wrong. Every job should have a template of what damage they can do, what buffs they can provide and if it can't bring buffs then give it more damage or give it a raid buff like the rest of the jobs. Then all you have to do is take the template of each job and move it into the next expansion. It's like nobody is on the same page over there.
i agree with xeno on all the tank should do the same amount of damage, at this point the argument of utility vs damage is just out the window with all the shit they gave the healers, dps, an tanks

I used to disagree with Xeno on a lot but I agree with the tank assessments. I'm a gunbreaker main and don't even have my other tanks at level 90 yet (WAR is at 83, the rest at 82). I see so many people saying WAR needs a nerf but I don't think it does in the slightest. Yes, Bloodwhetting (and Raw Intuition below level 82) could be seen as overpowered in dungeons with big pulls but as Xeno says, that doesn't translate to raids. The only raid it would translate to is A2s which is just a big mob fight.
Tbh, before they give any tank anything to get them close to DRK in dps, they need to rework current DRK until it is not arse in everything but damage.

Gap between MDPS and RDPS is ridiculously unacceptable. MDPS have been given so many downtime tools, have greater baseline survival and recovery tools. There is really no explanation to why SMN/BRD/DNC/MCH should be this behind, it's 600-700 DPS behind.

Mch being the lowest utility phys range and being the LOWEST dps now after the dancer buffs is nuts. All my mch friends are on suicide watch
People who think off gcds are hard should go play Guardian Druid in wow raids. I did that for one heroic tier and started getting carpel tunnel. APM in FFXIV tanking is about *half*.
It just upsets me that gunbreaker is essentially the best tank right now, because I hate playing it, heh.
I honestly would like to see the strength of utilities actually mean something and have a clear like… path each class has Not just "Everything is copy paste but slightly different" like on tanks. I don't think the discrepancy of the damage should be as harsh as it is (8-10% like it is now), but make it a clear cut "Okay, if I'm taking a PLD to Raid, I'm not bringing as much damage but I am bringing XYZ to compensate" and make it honestly mean something.
The only one that honestly feel like it does that atm is WAR. If has so much defensives and Self sustain in the trade of for damage that it having that much lets the healers have a lot more leeway and can, in turn, let out more damage. No other tank really feels like it can do something like that. And all that even trickles down to the DPS. Because everything is just "Damage, damage, damage." IT makes you wonder why things like Mantra exsist? Arcane Circle? Addle and Feint? Why do DPS have these utilities is 95% of the commune will never even use them cause "It's not damage"
I know this will never be the case since the game have going down the rabbit hole of "Head Empty, only Damage" but I do wish they would start enforce stuff that makes the players use these extra tool and properly feel rewarded for doing so or have a significant gameplay impact.
You make amazing points, Xeno, but SE doesn't really make changes unless JP and The West cry about it. Look at mch, where NA can't avoid clipping naturally in the game unless they install some shit like xivalexander or react to make it function not like shit with our latency. Meanwhile in JP there is no latency for them so they say, well we're fine therefore it's okay. They don't give a rats ass about western players opinions even know we're over 60% of the player base.

Buff warrior potency. Fix IC (make it so it cant be used in IR) and IR (should ONLY work on CC and FC). Buff vengeance bc IR changed. Lower the cd on onslaught so I ACTUALLY have 3 charges like I should or remove the potency from gaps and make it utility only like monk and put it towards my gcds. Just make surging tempest straight 60s or remove it.
4.5y has warrior gotten fucked over. Yes, war was buffed in 4.2 but what did it cost? What was the point if you're going to fuck over the job every expansion? And I petty want my fucking deliverance back.
Fix blood weapon. Adjust Living Dead.
Fix GNB's mobility problem.

Honestly, I really want them to sepaeate healers and tanks again. SCH and SGE are so similar its not even funny. Tanks are 99% identical to each other and I honestly cant tell the difference anymore from healer POV.
The meaning in choosing your job has been taken away from the game and in 7.0 i think all healers will have a raid buff & movement speed because cant have unique skills for healers.
Currently I am huffing copium as WHM… as long as I don't die, and not too many people die my MP will be fine….. I even start using rescue aggressively in normal content just to try saving 2400MP, in ShB I will let people die to learn a lesson, not anymore.
I don’t know why they thought reducing a 12 second thin air duration down to 2 stacks was a good idea like how stingy at least give us 3 stacks of thin air why only 2
Paladins need a rework same with the unimpactful oath gauge it could be changed to the more you have of it the longer the duration or potency of the skill that requires it for use so you could have a long shelltron or stronger defensive when used. I think there regular combo needs a 20-30 potency increase. Get rid of the damn spell speed skills minus clemency. Rework cover to cover 50% damage on a near by ally and reduce damage incoming to the paladin by 25% and buff tenacity
I know that post raids, Xeno said that caring about drk's damage= Small peen. But now that the raids are out, Drk's squishiness isn't as blatant because they can still mitigate a single boss's output, and Blood whetting is reduced to just average against one target. So now all that's left is dmg where Drk wins out.
I don't care about number Tweeks, but I'd hate Square to think that damage output means Drk doesn't need help. Let's not forget that they got Jack this expac. . .blood weapon sucks and isn't fun. Abyssal drain sucks and isn't fun. tbn, while it works about as well as other tank's short cool downs in raids, it's the only of the three that sucks in dungeons, and it's not as fun anymore. . .
Oblation is boring, Salted earth is a joke, and Salt and Darkness is an insult.
This isn't even bringing up the memes with unmend. . . Living Shadow isn't even cool, it's just a dot.

truth all round… warrior not getting any value out of any raid buff that is not flat dmg really bugs me, while ago SWTOR introduced a change where if u had over 100% crit chance, the excess would go towards ur crit multiplier.. drg has similar issues with their auto crits to a lesser degree, not sure who else has guarnteed crit/DH
selfishly, I would love to see red mage and more ninja buffs. realistically, I would love to see Machinist buffed because there is absolutely no reason for them to be below dancer lol

I think the reason that when they write base damage when buffing combo-actions, is that the combo just give a bonus damage added on top of that 120 or 140 base damage, since in game the lv84 potency buff only writes base potency buffs instead of combo-potency.
hard disagree if you think War and Gnb have same play difficulty, Pld too, I've heard so many times from others how sleepy that job is. Also why wouldn't dmg be correlated to a job's difficulty?

Every change to make them more equal makes them less satisfying. They're all interchangeable, in every class. They have hollow identity, each melee does the same thing, each tank does the same thing, all of them. They're hollow. The more you remove things that make them unique the less interchangeable they become and then people complain. Taking away some positionals and giving True North was another way to make everything the same boring bland. The taste is so bland that you're realizing "I might as well be on any of these, DRK=WAR=PLD=GNB, all that's 'different' is the order I hit some buttons in."
That's when it should set in. Your attention, your time, your frustration is directed at the order of buttons you press on your keyboard while staring at a screen. It's not all that much more complex than some kind of advanced Candy Crush. FFXIV is the crystal meth of MMOs.
