Hey all! I did end up going and watching some PF P10S and I see now how the lineups are done for all the bonds. Supports line up left, dps right. Merged horizontally into stacks of 2 if pairs, merged into the center of your line for light parties. Simple stuff! Mad we didn't think of it in prog 🙃
Just based on the runtime of video: Yep i knew it this one is hell in savage
I hate this fight, PF makes you hate this fight. Reclearing this is just torture in PF.
Really fun fight and great overview. The fight really doesn't let up the whole way through and you have to keep your attention going because it's very easy to lose track of something important and cause issues.
I expected turrets to be the wall in PF, but people seem ok at them (PF does 2 player splits, tank is 2nd man in every stack). The real killer is the third bonds, getting into position after reading which way the head cleave is happening is super tight. One interesting difference I saw in JP was they fit 6 players on the main platform for silkspit, which lets you recover if a tank gets yeeted.
It's also wild how hard Harrowing Hell hits. It does 8 hits at 60k on the party (120k on the front 2 players) over 12 seconds, and 3 seconds latter it does a final hit of 70k (150k on tanks)… that's 550k for players and a whopping 1.1m damage on tanks. Probably the hardest hitting attack outside of ultimate they've thrown at us. You can live it without limit break but uh, it's pretty spooky.
7:10 I saw one meme party that was like "Clear party, but we place markers on the outer platforms and score the tanks based on where they can aim their knockbacks"
The mechanics force you to do E/W wings right before harrowing hell. So PF just does N/S stacks E/W wings for both. Ez pz. Less risk of downtime if a ranged decides to take the dps stack super south for some reason.
Apparently for steel web they also become unbreakable if the 3 players are too close to each other
Happy, don't downtalk your strat for Wings 1. It's actually by far the best, at least in my opinion having done tethers due E/W and both tethers N, as well as having tried this way tonight. Full uptime, 0 risk of cleaving anyone with the tether, and it really isn't as bad as you make it sound to get back out after breaking tethers. Really, the fact that any group is going anything else is the real tragedy. Granted you could optimize a bit by moving them to be not quite as far north, but yeah it's honestly by far the best way to do the mechanic.
for the bonds after cannons its actually always pair+spreads and for the halfroom bonds its always lightparty+spreads (also in reverse order of course). Only for the first one and the one after harrowing i think it can be either pairs or light party stacks. Unless I got final fantasied in all my pulls of course^^
