  1. So excited to see y’all enjoy one of the best trailers in the entertainment industry! The Grinding Gear community is also amazing and always shares interesting add-on info in the comment sections❤🎉

I’ll only add for myself – more Tuna and Val in these videos! Such a nice touch and brings home the journey your characters are on! Well done!

  2. I started a few months before you guys but I was much faster at devouring the story after leaving WoW. After I finished each xpac, I would log out and go watch the video. This video blew me away. The others were good, this had the tingle of greatness from almost the beginning. You could feel Square stepped up the production quality and scope. This had me more hyped than when I saw Arthas for the first time in almost six years from WC3 TFT dlc. I never even killed Arthas or raided the entire xpac.

Why is this better? Because WoW cinematics have fa to do with the player character. We don't matter. Yet in this, you see a battered player character who's gone through trial after trial defending his home. Now thrust upon an unknown location and exhausted from years of fighting, we come across a being that pushes us further. After going through our entire arsenal of "jobs" we come down to using the void powers of dark knight as a last resort.

I like the bun bun peoples but I love the va they chose for them.

I play on Couerl and before the servers shut down for Endwalker in a few of the major cities we had people reciting the lines from Urianger and Matoya.

🙂🙂🙂 Those are some interesting guesses.🙂🙂🙂

I hope you both love this xpac as much as I did. Most questions you have will be answered in some way or another. Only advice I can give or hints is get a box of tissues. Your going to need it.

  3. Why does the gremlin talk to you? Gremlins have an ability called "bad mouth" that puts the debuff "misery" on you, that makes you take more incoming damage. It's why holminster switch trash runs can be brutal. You can get rid of this debuff with the "comfort" emote.

  4. the 1.0 trailer was built around showing off the both something called a Leve quest. it's basically a quest built around a single task like kill a monster. in fact battle leves were the only real content at 1.0 but each leve (the weird stain glass cards) require a kind of stamina called leve allowances. today these still exist and like 3 every 12 hours, but back then you got 1 a day. battle craft leves sadly stopped receiving support in Stormblood, now for the last 3 expansions new leves have only been added for disciples of land and hand and are mainly used a light money and exp generation for those jobs, making it all but a dead feature.

  5. It's always so weird when I watch these videos where these two keep blindly guessing at things with their wild speculations that usually have no basis in reality because if you played the game when these things were happening there was SO MUCH MORE INFORMATION AVAILABLE! I'm literally screaming the answers to their questions in my mind from the perspective of everything we knew going into Shadowbringers because it just feels weird to me that people would spend so much time pontificating about these things when the answers are going to be given to them in the game but also because the answers to most of their speculations existed before the expansion came out. Maybe it's just that most people who come to the game later don't bother to spend time pontificating and instead just keep progressing through the game so this situation never arises within my purview. I do also have to keep in mind that they literally can't simply go out and seek answers in the same way because at this point everything is known and it's just all spoilers and so I don't even offer bits of information because I don't want to lead their thoughts in one direction or another. I will say that it'll be VERY INTERESTING to see how these two feel about the game if they ever get current and can participate in things like Live Letters and Fan Fests where the devs give us tons of information about upcoming things in the game that include screenshots, videos, and descriptions. The cinematic trailers, specifically, are always revealed at big events and are accompanied by a ton of new information that puts them into context so you won't necessarily know what's going to happen in the story but you are at least familiar with where you're going. Then there are the other various trailers that they put out for expansion launch and patches which DEFINITELY contain spoilers to some extent and should not be watched unless you are completely current and just can't resist.

  6. I've read different accounts of how much time has passed since 2.0 launch in-game, but the highest number I've seen is like 2 years maybe. I don't think it's something you should focus on though – the devs have also said they don't want certain characters to age too much physically (like the twins) so I think that is more the reason for the short passage of time than anything else. I'm kind of glad for it because I really disliked the new, older Jaina they introduced in WoW. So if you think you are going to get a 7ft tall version of the twins to show they are adults? I doubt that very seriously.

  7. @25:00 Your game will remember the last "Movie" you viewed for the title screen. So before Start and Logging in, view the "Shadowbringers Demo and Title" and it will remain on that title screen, for "Shadowbringers", until you view a different one. If you view the Stormblood Demo and Title, it will remain on the Stormblood title until you watch another, and so on. Choose the title screen you want–keep it on Shadowbringers by watching that movie, then when you finish the last patch, log out and watch the Endwalker Demo and Title to change it to that one…

  8. Interesting how their takes on the trailer have varied from other streamers I've seen. Generally a lot more thoughtful – even their completely wrong guesses have some good reasoning behind them.

  9. The "cards" in the 1.0 aren't job related as 1.0 didn't have jobs at launch. The cards are part of the levequest system and you see the different cards in game when looking through the different levequests.

Also in ff14 Gremlins are Voidsent from what I understand.

  10. I've said this before but it's a favorite bit of trivia. The vocalist for this song (and a later one) was also the english voice for ARR Raubahn. And also Rules of Nature.

  11. In the times before the pandemic, they would actually show earlier versions of the trailer at various events such as the fanfests on various continents. These trailers were shorter, cut differently, and using placeholder music.

In the older trailers, they had the angel fight scene and the forest burning scene each as a single scene instead of splitting them in 3 and 2 respectively.

Endwalker's trailer only had one earlier version due to the cancellation of fanfests; that was the version of the trailer that announced the expansion in the first place.

The final version of the expansion trailers tended to come out between the x.5 and x.55 patches.

  12. Love the road to Eldorado reference you guys had at the end. But yeah the trailer was originally out long before Shadowbringers and they released it in 3 parts, bare bones just giving us a glimpse and the name, then one showing us the old stuff with the scions more and finally the full one like 5-6 months out from full launch so players were speculating for a long long time.

  13. I've personally made a comment to the effect of "You should do a video comparing Shadowlands and Shadowbringers. They share many similarities, and yet I dislike one and love the other." It sounds like the idea that they may be similar is starting to percolate in the their minds, but they're not far in enough to fully see what people are talking about.
