  1. Lyse became the leader because of the legacy that Yda (her sister) and her dad left behind. That is how I felt.
EDIT. Interesting i actually did not like the Monk story, but rather liked the Dragoon one xD

  2. I agree with most of your point. I started in SB so i view it very fondly. Having not played tactics i also myself i also found the alliance raid a slog. But overall loved SB. Definitely builds up for SHB, especially with the accumulation at the Ghimlyt Dark and what happens to the scions.

  3. Your thoughts mimic most of mine. And I do believe the lack of interest for Stormblood from most people is because of Lyse. The post content really helped a lot for stormblood, personally, but yeah, some character issues.

Also not the biggest fan of Zenos, but that's primarily because he never appeared before Stormblood to establish himself as some large threat and rival for the future. If he just popped one once in Heavensward (say, Azys Lla when the Garlieans popped up) and beat the crap out of us before we defeated a primal with prays from a 1000 years as well as Nidhogg, I would have felt better about Zenos. As it stands, considering how crazy strong we are, it felt strange to just get stomped by him at the start of Stormblood only to quickly catch up and match him by the end; Very jarring to me. Losing to him in Heavensward, getting stronger by defeating Nidhogg, and then meeting him again in Stormblood and giving him a proper showing without actually winning (and thus, promting his infatuation of us), would have felt so much better to me personally.

In general, my main issue with Stormblood is almost entirely on the pacing and character progression, it just felt very out of wack. Gosetsu was most likely my favorite, and the overall story was nice (cool to have a more world building expansion whereas Heavensward felt a lot more like a classic fantasy adventure into the unknown which wasn't really tied into the base world established in ARR as much as Stormblood). But yeah, characters pace really hurt Stormblood for me.

  4. I love Stormblood. As a person who has experienced real opression I sympathised alot with the protagonists of Al amigo and Doma liberating themselves from their tormentors. Its a very well told story. Realistic compared to the other expansions.

  5. I hate Stormblood. Basically I was made part of a war I had no interest in. I didn't care for Ala Migho, and I kinda cared for Doma if only because I leveled ninja to 50 or so. In Heavensward I helped Ishgard because they took me in when shit hit the fan in Ul'dah. Shadowbringers basically revolves around the WoL. But Stormblood is just something I don't have any stakes into. The only thing that was personal for my character was facing Ilberd and co again, and they went away in the pre-patches.
There is not a single interesting character introduced in the expansion but the worst offenders are Lyse and Zenos.
That the worst characters of a story are the (for all intents and purposes) main protagonist and the main antagonist says a lot. Zenos is the most bland anime villain ever, not a single trace of charisma in him.
And Lyse is even worse. I don't thinl I have hated a character as much as her in any media. Every time I see her face I legit get angry. And the worst thing is you have to put up with her for the whole story.

I know is not as bad as I make it out to be, althought I'm not exagerating about how I feel about the story, but just by virtue of following Heavensward and preceding Shadowbringers it becomes a really ugly stain in a beautiful painting.

EDIT: Duties in general where amazing tho. The first time I saw a tank doing the Susanoo mechanic I was left in awe. It's the story I have huge problems with.
