  1. Have you ever even played an MMO before, and which one? I laughing to myself when you said you don't like MMOs on console but have your tried them before? Also to mention the "furries" because WoW has more animal creatures into that "mmo" than FF14 which takes from the original 5 races from FF11, and 1 from FF10 which are the lion race "ronso's" and 1 from FF12 which are the Viera.

Plus the 1st MMO to go to console was FF11 and FF14 follow the steps on that. I don't know if there was another MMO that has hit console, however those 2 MMOs play well on the console with controller or Mouse & keyboard just as if you was playing on PC.
I hope you try FF14 and enjoy it. If you want to look more into it I say check out CloudieXIV for funny content. He has been 1 year with the MMO and so far he has enjoyed it.

  2. the thing with the lighting system change was in the benchmark test you can run to see how well your pc will run the new expansion. the lighting issue was causing some characters to be very flat i would say. so the devs are redoing the benchmark to fix the issue. usually each expansion brings in new classes and races. heavensward brought in the Au'ra for a new race and 3 new classes, the astrologian (healer), dark knight(tank), and machinist(ranged DPS). stormblood brought in red mage, samurai, and blue mage(limited job) as the new classes. shadowbringers, brought us the bunny people race, viera( females only) and lion race hrothgar (males only) as well as gunbreaker (tank) and Dancer(ranged dps) class to the game. gunbreaker being the gunblade class. endwalker brought in reaper and sage as a class and male viera into the game. dawntrail is bringing in female hrothgar and 3 new classes with it which is the Viper( dual sword wielding class), Pictomancer( painting class) and another limited job class that we don't know about yet.

  3. Bruh most of final fantasy is nitty gritty lol. FFX’s entire theme is centered around death.

12 is political intrigue and betrayal

13 is breaking from the shackles of fate

16 is literally the game of thrones of final fantasy 😂

  4. Yes there's a Gunblade class! It's a tank spec.
The cool thing about 14 is that you can be all classes on one character, you just gotta change your weapon, that's why the warrior of light was swapping to all the different classes he learned during the shadowbringers trailer

  5. 53:00 – The debacle about graphics is due to the fact that they've begun upgrading and modernizing the graphical engine, and we recently got to try out a test build of the character creator to show how characters look with the HD textures, new shaders, and lighting. It was sorta bugged due to being a beta build, and people got really scared that it would look like this in the final build. The developers fairly quickly responded to that though, and promised us a new build that would take as much of the feedback into account as possible, and attempt to fix the problems.

It'll likely all be fixed by release, so no reason to panic (for now).

  6. Perfect time to start, but do not skip the story. 🙂

Just to clarify the race thing for animal-ish looking ones.

WoW has (in regards to animal-ish races)
Tauren – cow people (two flavors of Tauren, standard and Highmountain)
    Worgen – werewolf people
    Pandaren – Pandas
    Vulpera – Fox people
    Drakthyr – Dragon people

FFXIV has (in regards to animal-ish races)
Miqote – human with cat features
Au'Ra – human with dragonoid features
Viera – human with bunny features
Hrothgar – straight up burly lion men (and soon women)

  7. If you've played any Final Fantasy you'll be rewarded with familiar sights and things under a new light; I'm sure plenty of people have told you the story is well worth it and all that jazz. By all means if you have any friends, get them to play with you. It will make a huge difference and make the journey that much more memorable. Also you can play every single job in the game on one character! Don't let your dreams be dreams!! If you played FF16 it's the same team that made this game, they put a lot of love into it.

Also take your time with the story. I'm sure people said it, but it's a powerful story that builds up as it goes. The later points are so solid and so strong because of your journey to get there.

  8. I can't stop swapping between FFXIV and wow. Wow was my second MMO after Age of Conen – i loved it. I startet with WOW in 2010 as an undead and i loved the starting zone so much that every time i miss WOW i wanna play the Undead starting area. It had changed after cataclysm but it was made even better. LOVE to a Zone.
Age of conan lost me somewhere i did not have any "coming home to my town" feeling with it. WOW is full of that.
FFXIV is such a super good game that i can say PLAY IT!
But from time to time i feel the need to go back to WOW. Is WOW better because of that? No! Do i feel the same way of comming back to FFXIV? No! WOW has something to it – maybe Nostalgia but i feel that the Most with WOW.
If you just start and play Endgame – This is not happening to you – So FFXIV is the better game. If you start wow like i have the last time and do not take any armor over white level never fly and allways walk until the Endgame that was like playing BG3 on Hero Mode whith one save^^

  9. 2 things to note:

    1. If a duty is too hard to complete, you can make it easier if you fail, with it unlocking "Easy" and "Very Easy" mode for said duty.
    2. If you're looking for a quick start, choose a "Legacy" server – they give boosts up until Level 80

  10. WoW lore "The age of Aspects is ending. We must now see the world through Mortal Eyes. Now is the Age of Mortals."
Next patch/expansion, not that long after the cinematic where this is said –
All dragon aspects are in one room, in full dragon form, glowing eyes and all. Seems like their Aspect powers are back and they are immortal again.
"So that was a fuckin' lie"

  11. if you like chatting in communities i could not recommend a better game for that, than FFXIV
it does have it's (very scarce) sour spots, as with nearly every online community, ever
but. playing for 5 years, it was honestly shocking at how fast these sweethearted gamers made the game feel like my new online family, especially once i found my FC(guild)
as i said, there are naturally going to be a nasty person every now and then, but usually their only issue(s) they bring is being an elitist or entitled, but there are a myriad ways of working around it. and it doesn't happen nearly as often as, say the toxicity in WoW LFG endeavors.
but, yeah, 10/10 this game is great and there is no shortage of people who would be willing to help a new player

  12. well yeah cinematic are beautiful but in-game cinematics are not like those one (worst), still the game is pretty great. the community is really friendly and the story is really good once you start heavensward ^^

  13. I just have to say, I’m glad you are so intrigued. But please do NOT fast forward thru the story if you play this. There’s a lot of reading and “talk to npc x” quests in the beginning, and I like them but I know some people get bored with it but don’t skip them or skip ahead. It’s all world building, it’s all relevant later and the later expansions hit so much harder if you actually spent the time and know who everyone is and why they do what they do.

  14. I've been playing since A realm reborn and i really liked Heavensward and Stormblood but i still remember the Moment i watched the Shadowbringers Trailer i always wanted to be a edgy lord of darkness or somethinmg and when they said "become the warrior of darkness" i sprung from my chair hopping around like a spriggan in joy my heartbeat as high as never before.
And even now Shadowbringers is my absolute favourite addon the whole theme the music everything is perfect but i got to admit that Endwalker had the best Story.
I just… even after playing this game for 10 years i still love it so much and even more than before it just holds a very speacial place in my heart.
I sincerely hope u have fun with it and come to love it too its fantastic and deserves all the praise

  15. 45:55 "Final Fantasy cross Monster Hunter when?" Already happened. In FF14 you can fight Rathalos and even get a mount of it.
In Monster Hunter world you can fight an FF Behemoth. These are both permanent additions to the games.

  16. @SHSLBLAZE I've been a Samurai since the Stormblood XPack came out, which I'm now level 90 with, and I love that class with ALL MY HEART! I was a Samurai in FFXI and I was utterly delighted when I got to reprise my role in FFXIV… It's an amazing high DPS class, with some insane combos, and is great for players that want to be active during the battles.

  18. Some 'purists' claim FF is about the turn-based combat. But they aren't really purists. Final Fantasy has ALWAYS been about the world. The music. The characters. The stories. Been playing FFXIV since 2015. My first experience with Final Fantasy was the original on NES in 1987 when I was a kid. No other game series has touched me the way Final Fantasy has.

  19. Will absolutely love to see your journey in FFXIV. And generally FFXIV story enthusiasts really enjoy watching streamers experience the story for the first time, so I'm happy to see that you began your playthrough today. Forge ahead 🎉

  20. FF14 doesn't sugar coat the emotional damage it will do to you. It is a fantastic story. And, the music is fantastic.
They did in fact, reset the world with that second trailer. The first version was less then stellar. So Square did the unthinkable. They blew up the world and reset it.
The character in the trailers is the stand in for your Warrior of Light. Notice in the Shadowbringers trailer, he switches jobs in order of that he has them in the trailers.
Don't ever say you are gonna skip the story, it will cause FF14 fans to wonder what is wrong with you.

  21. Play FFXIV for the story, WoW for the game play. I played both. The story in WoW is a hot mess with MOST of the important lore and information in books and other forms of media OUTSIDE of the game. Expect to do a lot of googling to figure out the full story and even then it's.. Well, it's not my cup of tea. FFXIV will always be known for being better at telling its story. Doesn't help that the way retail wow is set up is that it wants you to get to endgame so leveling is very fast. You wind up missing out on way too much which will eventually just be very confusing.

Despite that, I do have to give WoW props when it comes to game play. It's very fun and I am not ashamed to admit it. However too much of the focus is on hardcore progression and who has the more impressive numbers. It was fun while I played it despite how much I rag on it now a days. PvP is honestly the best part of WoW though. I don't do competitive play either (I was mythic raiding in legion and it broke me an I can't bring myself to go back to that mindset. But without obsessing over numbers and doing it for fun, it's a great way to chill with friends and have a few laughs.

I prefer story too which is why I stick to FFXIV now a days. It's also very.. Relaxed in it's approach in a way. Even the director (Praise be the almighty Yoshi-P) tells it's players to play other games. I usually finish an expansion, stick around for the first few months for the release of the first tiers of the two raids, and then I unsub and wait for the patches. The game doesn't force you to log in every day. They are confident in their product and it shows.

ALSO the music in FFXIV is insane. They cover so many genres and it's a work of art. Even if you don't wind up playing, I suggest looking into the music anyways because that alone is worth it.
