Hey. What a total misuse of your channel to talk about something that is serious. While you sit and joke about a having a profanity filter problem why not actually speak on the issue.
I've played this game since launch and I love it. However I can also say that it's about time.
This is more then just Erping and being banned. Its more about the safety of the game in general. While I disagree with the GM that you posted saying it's allowed, I have to ask is it Moraly right?
This game has no age verification. Whos responsible when someone wonders in one of these rp Brussels and things go bad? Whos liable legally? Is it the poster in the PF? Is it the owner of the venue? And what point does this get out of hand? It only takes one time to completely ruin everything we love. And yes personally I've known an adult who admitted to erping with someone they knew to be underage! Their reply was it's just a toon the toon is an adult!
No. There are people on the other side of that toon that's NoT and adult. There are kids who play this game and we are forgetting that. We see this as no real world consequence and we are wrong.
FYI that person, I banned them from my discord, blacklisted and reported.
I hope the next video you make on this topic is more serious then this laugh it up one
L.S Faerie server
Back in 2014 I was reported by a guy I whispered saying he was a coward because he quit a roulette party after one wipe, calling everyone in the party WAAAAAAAAAAAY worse things than "coward" (he was from the same server as me, that's why I was able to whisper him).
Fast-forward to 2018, when I got reported for asking lewd questions (nothing obscene, just things like "oooh, so, what's your favorite position when you're in bed with a lady" and "So, you're a top or a bottom?") to people in shout chat while waiting for NMs to spawn in Eureka Hydros. I was stamped with a 72-HOUR BAN for that. No 48-hour prior ban. Was bumped up STRAIGHT to 72-hour, which basically means that I'm a strand of hair away from perma-ban. My 8-year old account with 4 relics from different expansions, a medium house, over 2k commendations and a host of mounts and minions.
So yeah, this thing is ridiculous. And the way this becomes a permanent stain that will NEVER be erased from your record is absurd as well.
This is why you nurture sprouts with the proper way to say.. play the game. It's easier to mold them and teach them to play a class compared to someone who reached end game and some how ends stubborn. Then again it's down to a learner based mind-set, and some people aren't the best people to be giving any form of advice (since they simply snap rather than explain).
The problem is, ppl can't make the difference between a "troll" and a "Rpers" —-Who in their right mind would advertise for ERP in PF if not just to troll? I've never EVER seen in my 12 years of rping someone that would so openly "ask/harass/advertise" About very explicit things. It all blown over because some people WANT it to be blown over and the ppl that said "We had enough of RPERS and their nasty ERP" never even encountered one and go on solely by what they heard, or get told. It's depressing, as an adult? Why would they care anyway? why should they act as if it's remotely giving them a bad "experience" when they never interacted with any of it.
This whole thing on reddit blew up into a blame game for Crystal Data Center lol – My rage quit level went through the roof. xD I mean it's almost 11pm my time and i didn't notice this was up six teen hours ago – I have YET to get banned for anything for being a four five month old player – but I'm sure someone's gonna find a way to ban the geekiest Mi'q on Goblin lol. I just went through Dohn Mheg and wanted to slap something because the problem with the higher end dungeons is people have a theory that if they've completed a THING they're better in some format than anyone else -and some of us have distractions – I had a dog wanting out mid boss lol, i wasn't doing my rotations 1001% correct – i went to my FC leader, and my FC leader said while i was probably a bit lazy on some level – I wasn't doing things entirely wrong. I mention this because it's not JUST about me or anyone else in the party – it's that when we get to Endwalker can people stop being high and mighty about HOW YOU PLAY? Some people ahve variations on the rotations, some poeple are slower to get things done due to lag. I wish instead of ERP banning we could get warnings and slaps for people who are cranky and say stupid crap in game 😛
I have an Email from a GM that says this " Please keep in mind, that our penalties accumulate and never vanish. " now that alone is very messed up.. a year ago I got GM jailed because I "politely" explained in a PF party on Titania Extreme – the reasons to why we were wiping and to who needs to do what in order to get the kill, which should be fine.. I mean how can we learn unless someone teaches us or us learning on our own… but then got reported for it… the amount of report abuse in FFXIV is insane, and I play it since 2.0… and what makes it even worse is that the penalties never vanish, so let us say down the road after 6 years of gameplay, will I be reported every time I tried to be nice in duty? or spoke in game? until at some point it piles up and gets me banned? because they still count the things I've gotten reported for 6 years ago? I honestly LOVE this game… I love it a lot, but seriously the policies and the support team… need to be looked at and fixed.
I currently reside on Crystal, and the RP is rather fierce. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing, and I enjoy the contrast most RP'ers provide in the main city HUB for RP activity. The issue with 18+ is just that, and you have no real way to discern individuals within your party who truly are 18+ – The last thing someone wants in an ERP 18+ party is for there to be one, or several underage… Yeah. Unfortunately, standard RP will always fall under the misconception that RP also means – OwO wuts dis?! Notices your Bulge! – When that is far from the truth to the matter. I feel as though people forget FFXIV is an MMORPG.
ERP is a tricky thing, but do not punish legitimate RP use in your MMORPG.
It's weird to pick at people who want to consntually erp or rp in privet. It's like your boss running up to you and your friend talking and scolding you for using bad words. If it's two consenting ADULTS then there shouldn't even be a side eye about it.
On the topic of "well you get into legal trouble" as an active role player I can yell you these adult spaces are monitored heavily. It's 18+ if not 21+ and some FCs even have full blown screening processes. If someone younger is actively going into adult spaces and lying about their age be it by omission or not how much blame can we fairly put on the adults who set up the space for them and them alone. They arnt out seeking children to pray on (that's a whole different conversation) nor are the people putting ads in party finder. If you take the steps to check how can it possibly be your fault for trying to just exsist in an adult space?
There's a profanity filter, if someone is erping in the open then by all means report them but anyone going after people, witch hunting or GMs who start banning people who are just two adults more or less chatting in privet then that's excessive and we shouldn't be making excuses of "ehhhh well if you think about it" no. Leave them be.

I’m my experience with 14 I’ve only had to contact a GM twice and as far as I can tell I haven’t had any problems though in one case I thought sed player should have been more punished then what they were but as far as I had a positive experience

You should see the people in game that get triggered by my tail wagging. Luckily the GMs have understood my side in the cases and dealt with the toxicity from others.
Roleplay is one thing. Erotic Roleplay is another. There are a lot of children in this game. Stop with the ERP.

I m playing game since 2014 . Since 2020 I m not able to play cause Mog station don't accept my 5 debit and credit card. I use to buy Europe region game card it used to work fine. Now it they applied some region restriction yesterday I again bought that Europe region game card and now it won't accept it .u live in India. Like wtf why I used to play this game a lot have more then 1000 day subscription and now u can't .
i love to rp but all my friends stop playing and no jobs or money thanks to c 19 i miss all my friends meow 36 years playing ff games still ff 7 remake part 1 was ok ff7 was best still beat in 17 hours
the game comm has gotten very very toxic over the last 5 years i used to have fun but i been really lonely and depress since my fc leader died from cancer so hard to find i friendly fc theses days.

i think they should make it 3 warring's a year get 3 in 1 year you get banned for year maybe 1st warning week then 2 weeks then year till it resets its one reason alot people are scared to play a mmo like this cause you can lose your account for good over stupid stuff and this is scaring off all the new players that read the bible edition of there long long rules and hell even i cant even read it would take me month to read threw it and i sadly cant read very well at all living in the USA with lowest and worst school system in the world be nice if they had the rules in audio for people with learning problems and cant read like myself somewhat. But all sqaure loves in the end is money and sadly do not care about its players at all what so ever like in ff11 i was hacked lost all my stuff k club so on and gm's didn't do nothing nor could not help me so i quiet FF11 after 7 years playing seeing how sad the gm;s were and how little they cared about the players and same here in FF14 they sadly don't give a dam about the players at all period prove me wrong.
and i am happy you brought up this issues to show what square is rally like and i like to warn new players don't play mmo's or ones that have subs cause high odds you can lose your account very fast theses days and there is no hope at all.
I play both WoW and FFXIV. The toxic environment in WoW actually makes the players tougher and left out the crybabies
Rpers are just toxic af tbh. Only issues I've ever had are with RPers who didnt have proper boundaries with non rpers. Raiders and end game players are always supposed to tip toe around rpers and it's kind of exhausting. I literally got reported one time because I asked fc members to private chat their ERP. Then was harrassed because said players i guess were embarrased.
Like /shrug if I knew more rpers who had decent personalities and were actually nice to people who didnt rp then maybe I'd care if they were all banned lol
ERP has always been and always will be in FF14. I personally do not engage in it, on that same token, I don't have a problem with it as I pay my own sub and no one else's so it's not up to me to delegate what anyone else does. If someone wants to sell ERP for gil…so what, and the emotes in chat, you can shut that off..ez. Imho, Sqenix has more to worry about than someone selling ERP, Like oh maybe the DOL bots killing markets? DOH bots killing markets? Gil sellers? People getting phished? DPS meter …who cares , I've used one since 2015. And there was a time when one could openly post numbers for people when they ask…now you have to keep it hush hush…if you ask me, the problem is the type of players running around nit picking about everything, just play the effing game and enjoy it. On a side note, some of the ridiculous ERP pf posts give me a solid laugh at least 3 times a week 😅

We only hear one side of the story. Lots of people claim they are innocent or that they weren't warned, but it turns out they were. When you look at the result FFXIV is known for having a non-toxic community so I'm not sure that we can say the system isn't working.
Honestly I know a lot of people that meet friends and partners from RP in this game. RP does bring people together. I’m not a fan of ERP just because you never now who is on the other side of the monitor. Last thing anyone wants is to find out it’s a minor. But the one thing I don’t understand is how SE can allow the account recovery systems actually advertise in PF and not getting removed.

tbh the ff14 is a different kinda of bad. while some toxic communities are up front and you are told exactly what you’re getting into. ff14 doesn’t do that. it tries to act better than everyone else and when one person tries to ask for something that the community doesn’t agree work you get the wolves sent on your ass. god forbid you talk about the downsides of not having enough high end raid content. you are labeled a dirty elitist and you get no say in decision about how the game should develop.
