  1. The workaround is probably how me and my girlfriend play is I just buy Crysta every 2 months about $50 worth each and that gives her enough for 3 months entry sub and if she wants something else she can save up the spare amount till she can afford it

  2. this feels like a f**king nuclear option when the solution is time based friends and FC members.

Why FC members? well my FC has been giving away mounts and emotes as rewards/prizes for events and such for YEARS, that is now dead.

  3. Funny thing is, level skips are a big RMT factor. Like…. if anything, they should have blocked story skips and level skips from being gifted?? Most bots are max level–clearly buying these skips to fuel the RMT circle. They're going to lose sales because of this dumbass move.

RMT is still going to happen, and this is just screwing over legitimate players. They don't even do shit about the current rmt bot accounts, so this is just an extremely STUPID MOVE on their part. The bots in Eureka are still roaming around, even though people have reported, documented and took video evidence to report everything. Nothing has been done. They WON'T do anything. This is just a PR move to say "we are combating it" when they're not.

I hope they backpedal when they notice mogstation sales drop like crazy. πŸ™‚

Edit: Also adding the fact this will negatively affect streamers, fcs, friends, family, etc who buy things or do giveaways. This is just encouraging MORE RMT BEHAVIOR. Why? Because people have to send ACTUAL RL MONEY to someone to buy the mogstation item. I don't understand this move at all…they were still getting the money from a sale, even if it was gifted to someone. They're so stupid.

  4. RMT is never going away. Its been around since my FF11 days and its been around since FF14 launched. Nothing they can do will stop it. People will always find a way to do it. So stop wasting resources.

  5. Tbh I don't think the cash shop should exist in the first place. You are already paying to play and $13 a month is a pretty pricey sub. This is just double dipping.

  6. The fun thing is, sure no one loves the gifting update change. It might not change a godsdamned thing, but it's literally based on real life countermeasures for similar illegal activities. Does it stop the RMT? Not entirely, but it stops at least a few cases. Does it punish the people who AREN'T doing RMT? Yes. Similarly, in Japan, It is illegal to purchase most firearms, to the point that police have to specially request having one (most police don't carry a firearm). Does it stop criminals from having guns? Not entirely, but it stops at least one avenue to get them. Does it punish people who AREN'T criminals? Yes (Specifcally hobbists, hunters, and aforementioned police officers who can't sign one out).

Truth is, there's NO way to fully stop any illegal activity, but should we really be complaining about the one measure they can do easily to stop even one avenue of it?

  7. Kougaon RTM is like rats, all businesses in the industry have them. its not about STOPPING them, its about proving by law that youre paying someone to limit their ability to effect you and your customers, like an exterminator.

  8. i understand what they are trying to do, but this also makes it so that you can't do raffles and giveaways and that was always fun, in zalera we had days where we gifted people mounts and emotes and glams from mogstations in the novice network and i'm sad we can't do that anymore unless we friend for 72 hours

also a correction about the wedding plan, the wristlets are tradable so you can still buy two yourself and trade the friend

  9. Man I hope we reporting the bots actually does something. I'm sick of everyday getting in my chat box minimum 5 bots spamming the RMT shit. It's annoying, ignoring it doesn't help in the long run and having a separate chat box is annoying too cause miss on actual fun conversations of people in towns and I don't want to be isolated just because of that. Hate it man, everyday I have to blacklist and report and they just keep coming.

  10. New flash: :The bots will never go away. It doesn't matter what game. It doesn't matter what economy. They tried this with runescape and people found a workaround that lasted years and only affected the player base in negative ways. They ended up changing it back years later after realizing they had been slowly killing their game. I see no difference here in FF. RMT will always exist. And trying to cater to making the game less RMT friendly is ultimately only going to have consequential effects that will be felt far, far, into the future. Usually this is the foundation being laid in order to put an iron grip on RMT as a whole. And so, with future updates will come much more restrictive, less friendly ways to interact with one another. This is just the beginning amigos.

  11. Ahh, I think they need to clarify……..
There are some websites, that is almost duplicate of mogstation online store……
except everything is super cheap there. Many use that store and also for gifts.
Which means SE makes 0 income from it, which is SO important because the online store income = content resource
I believe a few weeks ago it was something Chinese website abused a lot in recent weeks, but I cannot access the page anymore.
I also know it is in other websites, I've seen before (they are RMT types) they included RMT, so this is my suspicious.
So I am not against it, unfortunately I cannot buy my friend mount anymore, but I don't mind if we get more content.
Imagine the money they lost through years from cheaters, so I support this. My friend will get over it

  12. I actually don't mind the drop down menu for gifting, but I also don't send gifts to non friends. It is much easier and better for a surprise of "Oh, I got mail. Great a mount that I wanted, thank you." rather than sending a 12 digit code over discord or whatever and tell them plug it into mogstation.

The job boosts even have 500k gil in the plat pieces included so it just makes more gil in the world and you can still gift those seems weird.

  13. I get the intention and it's definitely good to do SOMETHING, but tbh. that's probably a bad change. I'm sure there could be better alternatives, but this basically limits people that propely use those services.
