  1. As someone who played all the old FF games knowing Endwalker was base on FF4 was the best move so much heart breaking moments in that game and using it in FF14 as a good send off to the Crystal ARC.

  2. What they managed to do with the SHB-EW arc to tie everything together was nothing short of a masterpiece. This is why I keep coming back to watch these reactions and sob every time. It's more than just a game, right? It's an experience, it's something that will stick with you, something that helps us understand and accept the impermanence of life and thus the importance of sharing stories, thoughts, feelings, to keep hope alive even in the face of despair. Sarah could have taken many more years to finally upload this and I still would've clicked on it right when I saw it. They guided the player through the game with such a huge effort in writing, music, scene direction, showed such passion in their work. The scene with Moenbryda's parents will always break me.
Sometimes when I see Meteion tell the Scions to silence their song of oblivion, to replace their despair with hope, I wonder if those words weren't coming directly from the devs themselves, hoping for a better world, feeling a bit cynical but knowing that as long as we spread hope and compassion, and not despair, that a better tomorrow is possible. Knowing that it was only possible together, with the people you met along the way, or gamers who will never meet but all shared in this experience that touched us, that gave us a glimpse of hope when maybe some of us needed it the most.

  3. Ahh.. this sent me back. I was an absolute mess when i played this far from home during the pandemic. Everything felt extremely relevant to what i was going through. I'll always love this game and the devs for pulling this off. Thank you for the share.

  4. Zenos has multiple moments in his monologues where I felt like he was talking directly to me. His final monologue truly made me realize why I can sometimes feel so disconnected with people and the world. The things that are popular with people (social media etc) are things I've never understood. While my in-game character found fulfillment, I am still trying to find what I want from life and to find my own fulfillment.

  5. We all ugly cried. We all cried out all our tears and then somehow found some more. (The noise that ripped out of me when I had to watch the twins dissolve was not human. ) We all broke, and then goddamn Emet snapped his fingers and summoned flowers and told us to put ourselves back together. ("My friends are back with me," I whispered. "I can do anything.")

And then Tataru sprinting across half of Old Sharlayan just to keep her promise to be the first to welcome us back… she's the bestest best to ever best.

  6. So glad to go on this journey with you! Interesting theory about the teleporter. Where does it come from? If you talk to Urianger at Revenant's Toll, he offers his thoughts:

"I understand that, following thy clash with Zenos, the teleportation device thou had discarded fell to thee from on high. To return to thee in such a manner… I did confer with Wilfsunn and Bloewyda, yet they insist the device was possessed of no such capability. 'Twas a miracle befitting the nature of that place, where emotion becometh tangible reality. Whence, then, arose this timely wonder? Thine ardent wish…or another's fervent prayer?"

Our best friend's dying prayer was to send us home. 😭😭

  7. So first off you ought to record a reaction to a few specific meme videos, most notably Bunny Zenos.

Secondly, you might enjoy watching other people play through — if only to connect the dots you didn't know enough to connect the first time through.

My favorite, perhaps, of "holy crap that DID happen I didn't even think about it much", is after defeating Zodiark and returning to the lunar surface. It's a moment that's sufficiently out of place that I completely and utterly forgot about it until a rewatch. Because right there on the moon, before even meeting the loporrits, with nobody else around, there's a creepy voice: "Ah… At last…".

And if you go back and watch it, you will now recognize that voice

  8. There's one line of npc dialogue in The Dead Ends that gets me every time, perhaps because there but for the grace of Hydaeltn goes the Warrior of Light. It's after the peacekeeper, before the portal; a soldier, javing just launched a bunch of missiles, exults "I did it, I killed them all!"

Only to realize.. "I… killed them *all*…"

and I can think of perhaps no fate more tragic.

  9. That first time entering Ultima Thule, I tell you, it messed me up
Hearing the distorted, echoing theme from the expansion launch trailer, that alone I had to step away for and take a breather
Then we lose Estinien and the theme starts to “fix” itself, I just couldn’t
I was bawling by the time of the walk, and now knowing it’s ardbert singing it to us? And he was the first and last voice?

  10. Creature murders 3 of the people of the star before her eyes
"OH MY GOD IT'S SO PRETTY~!"

Also I mean… Saying it's very 'Kingdom Hearts' is a bit unfair. These things were kinda done in Final Fantasies before they were done in KH. Enemies transforming into monstrosities was a thing even before FF7 when things went to shitty pixelated 3d graphics on the Playstation.

I remember hearing that line "Bereft of the synergy that is your strength, unless you mean to call upon the dead once more."
I'm just there thinking the response to that should be "No. Now it's more of an even playing field. You might just have a slim chance now to stop me from completely fucking destroying you."

XD holy shit, the fight against Zenos. Guess your reflexes just weren't good enough~

  11. "A flower. Yes. Upon your return, I will gift you a beautiful flower." that scene alone brought tears to my eyes, Endwalker was an end of a journey like no other for me, and I am glad I got to explore it with so many others, I am glad you got as much out of it as you did! May you ever walk in the light Sarah
