This video is not take a jab back to Wave, but let me also exclusively talk shit about Wave and not ever EVER recognize that Dice is also a piece of shit who and by all accounts documented in Rins VODs, that he:
– Does not talk during the fight – Uses GCDs heals on downtime and when confronted, leaves Discord – It's I Assume a fucking adult that says "Either me or him"
Thanks for the re-upload btw this is funny af lmao. Idk why the healers couldnt communicate. I also dont know why "hardcore" raiders can ONLY play and understand their role and have zero knowledge of some other roles. "I've never touched healer in my life". Having broad spectrum job/role knowledge i would think would be a requirement for "hardcore" raiders.. or at least a raid leader.. guess not. So when problems like this happen a leader with knowledge of how the roles should operate can problem solve..
If you're going to judge how a healer is doing, you need to look at more than just how many GCD's they are using. You need to look to see if their heals are relevant, if they're using their off-globals, and if they're using their off globals properly. There's a lot to consider because heal plans are extremely flexible based on a lot of different factors.
You and your group clearly have no idea how healing actually works in this game, including your Sage. As a raid lead, that's your responsibility, and you very much failed.
The fact you and your group think that spamming GCD heals is equivalent to proper healing, and to think that this fact alone means they are being strained by their cohealer, is absolutely ludicrous. Pick up healer and see for yourself how it feels healing with someone who burns all their MP doing useless healing.
First of all, you were better off following your own advice and ignoring the situation if you wanted it to blow over better. I cannot pretend to imagine what "harassment" you and your static mates might be facing, but just know that making a "response video" is not how you are going to quell any of that. However, because you have addressed this issue in a shoddy essay with less than decent evidence (at the very least you could've provided good quality screenshots, but that's besides the point) you have added a lot more fuel to the fire under your own butts. For anyone who is putting their faith in this video, I will provide my own commentary and counterpoints below in regards to what is discussed here.
I think the first thing I noticed after pausing and squinting at the small, blurry screenshot you provided is that you actually confirmed one of the points Wave made. Someone went to you (presumably Dice) and asked you to choose between the two healers. If that in itself doesn't say "red flag," well, I don't know what does. You ever see those K-dramas where there's two girls of different social statuses fighting over a guy? The rich girl is a bitch and the poor girl is simply trying her best to stay afloat and just can't help being in love with the guy and drawing the ire of the rich girl? I don't think I need to spell out which is which in this scenario…but let me just tell you that if the male love interest ends up choosing the rich bitch it really isn't a good look, now is it?
I digress from that tangent, though, and have to wonder this: if you were going to kick Wave out for "not being present during discussions" and "not being communicative with his co-healer," then why not kick Dice out as well. Communication is a two-way street, my friend, and it seems by the comments on Wave's video that Dice is quite notorious on the Crystal data center for being adamant in their own ways, poor at executing mechanics, incapable of healing properly, and unable to play well with others. All those reasons in addition to Dice putting an ultimatum over your head… As a raid leader, does that not immediately bring up those "red flags" you so boldly said Wave exhibited?
Although I most certainly cannot very well read the next screenshot you provided, your next point is that you kicked Wave from the static because they were not participating in discussions and did not listen when strategies were brought up. As someone with extreme levels of ADHD, I sympathize with Wave in being unable to pay attention and understand/visualize what seven other people are talking about. I also have an issue with controlling my volume and talking over others, which is why I opt to never talk when there are more than two other people in a VC, though it does lead to my mind wandering a bit more. It's a vicious cycle and I can't expect anyone to understand the way my brain works, of course, but I do sympathize. It has never been, however, a reason for me to be kicked from a static. I guess because I simply did my job as a healer and made sure no one died/failed a mechanic because of a lack of HP. Then again, I only raided from O9 to E12…so maybe things are different these days? Because if that was still the standard I don't think you would've chosen Dice over Wave?
I have to say that the issue with "discussing in private" about the trial members doesn't really feel legitimate to me. If you cannot "say it to their faces" what the issue in their performance is…then what else is there to say? In fact, isn't it better to give constructive criticism to the individual so they can improve and play better in the future? Or is the raid scene all about putting each other down behind the scenes and not offering advice to those attempting to join it? You considered it "disrespectful," but was it really? It feels like an excuse to perpetuate a sense of elitism behind those closed doors.
I also have to chuckle at your next point. "Wave asked questions." My friend, is it better to simply die to mechanics and not ask questions than to die and ask as many questions as necessary? That, presumably, must be the case because you chose to side with Dice, who, again, is notorious for messing up mechanics within the Crystal data center raid scene.
Oh, and the next point was really delicious. "There's nothing wrong with memorizing toolboxes provided, but you can't just rely on the toolboxes provided, you also have to immediately adjust to the strategies we came up with and/or show interest/participate in the creation of the next toolboxes we make. …What?! You don't care about all the standards and double standards we're throwing your way and just want ONE strategy? That's blasphemous!" I can't express how silly this one seemed. I think every raider in their right mind would like to solidify and execute one strategy that has been decided on, correct? That's why every PF description has their strategies listed out clearly, right? Additionally, I don't blame Wave for not participating in the discussion of these strategies, especially since he has been reprimanded multiple times it seems for talking over others and would likely be very scared of stepping on anyone's toes at this point.
You reiterate near the end of the video that Wave would speak over people and raise his voice, which I can't really speak to, again, as I have done the same unintentionally. I'm not sure what Wave deals with, but I will say that it seems like Wave is the only person getting "spoken to" constantly about things that seem trivial or normal for most people. I can't imagine not being affected by constantly being badgered for things that no static before has seen as an issue and, conversely, being blamed for a problem someone else is causing but, because of possibly favoritism, is being thrown under the bus for.
Well, after mulling over your video for a bit, I can very confidently say you barely "responded" to anything Wave actually brought up as issues in his video. This was a very clear example of misdirection and trying to save your own ass(es), which you did not succeed at from my perspective. You have made more questionable decisions as a raid leader than I have when I decided to switch from a Computer Science major to a Psychology major in college. You have also done nothing to dispel the argument that Dice is a poor healer but was allowed to remain in the static due to straight favoritism/nepotism. In fact, it feels like you've doubled down on that idea.
If I could give you some advice, friend, it would be to take down this video once and for all. You clearly haven't thought at all about how this would make you and the rest of your static, especially Dice, look. I feel no sympathy for you folks as it's obvious you suffer from feelings of entitled elitism within the raiding community, but I don't think anyone deserves to be harassed.
Cheers and good luck with raiding.
Edit: I just saw a clip of Wave interacting with Rin from Xenosys's reaction video and I have to say it makes this video look awful. It does a lot more to back up Wave's description of the situation than it does to back up you and the others. Edit 2: Ack, I do apologize to the re-uploader of this clip. I didn't realize this video and account did not belong to the person in the video. I do hope that our messages do eventually make it to the eyes of that person though.
Reading a script like Rin's apology video, no emotion, no genuine words, re-uploading to reset Like/Dislike ratio and erase comments, this video was exactly what everyone was expecting from you. For a "response" video, this responds nothing, you haven't explained the facts that Wave showed in his video. Where's the explanation about Dice's actions? This was not a video to defend you and your group, this was you retaliating back at Wave. Also, you keep mentioning clips that prove Wave is potentially wrong, well, where are they?
That second DM on discord just show how oblivious and incompetent you are as a raid leader by the way. You should know what your team mates are doing, especially the healers, you need to know what they're up to, learn how to check logs properly and learn the minimum necessary to understand their role. You probably don't have experience building an airplane, but you at least know the engine shouldn't be on fire while flying, right? It was your responsibility as a leader to have basic knowledge of those things, and you failed.
The third DM is lacking context, we can't really tell who is in the wrong, but again, it shows your incompetence as a leader, it's your job to pick the strat you're all gonna use, and it's the team job to execute it, only change it if someone is struggling with it, don't change just because another strat is "slightly" better due to preference/pride. Wave's mindset of "I don't care which strat we use, just pick one", is actually a good mindset in a prog scenario, and again, it was YOUR job to enforce that to everyone else.
Complaining about Wave's yelling is understandable, but also erroneous, he was yelling because he was feeling stressed and frustrated, and your group was the cause of that, if you wanted him to calm down, you should have listened to the things he was saying, instead of just blindly antagonizing him (this was clearly shown in Xeno's video, when he shows Rin's stream), the conversation was completely one-sided, and we can easily assume other instances were the same way.
If what you said at the end is true, and Wave was disrespecting the group by not participating in discussions and being unprepared for raid, then he is in the wrong there, but THAT DOES NOT make Dice's actions right. If you want to raid with your friends, that's fine, but if that's the case, make sure the trials know that, so they won't waste their time joining a group ruled by favoritism.
Also, put some effort on the quality of those blurry DM screenshots, it just shows how little you cared about making this video.
TLDR: be a better person/raid leader and you won't have drama (this applies to Rin as well).
why cant he just admit its a friend and doesnt care how bad he is? they even blamed raid being over on wave when dice was the guy who refused to talk it out and went offline…good luck with the prog
So, you and your group showed favoritism to your buddy instead of doing the right thing and taking into account what Wave was bringing to the table and then reaching a fair agreement and understanding. Ain't no way spending all of your MP during downtime when everyone's health is full and has crit shields is okay, or reasonable. You took the video down the 1st time for a reason. Should have left it down instead of doubling down like this and you're not even a Gunbreaker.
Getting salty over someone taking a backseat on discussing strats… surely the raid lead selecting a strategy and people being willing to go along with it and stick to it without argument is a good thing…? Not everyone is vocal, and so long as they're doing their best and performing well, the amount they speak shouldn't be held this much against them?? Oh, wait, but their performance wasn't up to par…despite them doing more heals than their cohealer…
If anything it is the raid ldr's job to ensure the healers sort out their differences, instead these guys are the ones fueling it further. The clips further proved that these guys made the decision to expel Wave out of personal issues, and they further antagonize Wave by twisting facts in the raid discussion when it comes to healing. They were defending Dice's mistake not because Dice was right, rather they wanted to shut Wave up.
Every hardcore raiding streamer has pretty much called them out for being unable to settle the difference between raiding mentality and personal favoritism, and that alone speaks much for anyone whom were on board with kicking him.
Wave may have been the type of player that makes their raid feel uncomfortable. But it was the raid ldr whom brought Wave on board of this train. It was him whom decided to keep Wave while kicking others when they should've put him out at early signs of these problems, and when they'd decided they had enough, the team ganged on him using illogical arguments instead. It doesn't even matter if them/Wave was in the wrong here, they just put a hit mark on their heads in the raiding community.
Tldr; They should put Wave out if he was this problematic to their raid, and straight up tell him that everyone wasn't comfortable with his antics. The raid ldr don't even know if his habit of raising voices could be attributed to possible mental health problems. They chose the worst way to paint themselves as social group of assholes.
Edit : Grammar edit after realizing this is a reupload.
And you guys call yourselves a hardcore static 😀 HAHAHA what a joke are ffxiv's teams becoming nowadays. First and the most obvious thing – NONE of your points are factually backed up. Second – Your attitude is absolutely inappropriate. If you run a hardcore static be professional, don't bring friends in and act butt hurt when they underperform and get called out for it. IT IS YOUR FAULT THAT your friend got hurt. because it is you who brought them in and dispositioned them to the public etc. when they underperform. I don't know Wave as a person but he did the right thing and provide evidence and facts that back up his words to the bone. I am sorry but if you choose to be so blind and prefer emotions before prog. You do not belong into a hardcore static. Period. And you guys OPENLY ADMITTING that you don't look logs just further reaffirms the whole statement. Along side with, you guys call Wave a bad and mean person when you guys all ganged on him under the pretext of wanting to fix resolve everything IN THE MEANTIME shitting on him on stream VERY FUCKING MATURE. Not to mention you guys shit on Trials behind their backs and then you cry when they learn of it. 🙂 you seriously need to touch grass man grow the hell up.

I wonder if their dps used buffs during downtime, would they kick them?
Because that is basically the dps version of what this healer was doing, that they did not kick…
Nice re-upload. I'll also re-upload my comment.

I'm a healer main, and I approve this message.
Beautiful demonstration of favoritism.

Ok so your expecations are to spam heals during downtime, that's great, where can I apply?
those ppl never had someone yelling at them in life
christ these people sound miserable to interact with
So, you and your group showed favoritism to your buddy instead of doing the right thing and taking into account what Wave was bringing to the table and then reaching a fair agreement and understanding. Also you have 0 clue what its like to actually be yelled at.
I don't condone harassment though i have to say you guys are the gaslighting champions and everyone should put you on the dodge list
Bunch of losers
