  1. Started as Black Mage and still absolutely love it. Got to 80, finished MSQ, and started doing the post-shadowbringers MSQ, but then wanted to try out other classes. Liking the Astrologian so far, can’t wait to get more card stuff to do, Dark Knight is also cool. Kinda want more complexity, so looking around for jobs with most button pressing

  2. Been playing for a little more than 3 month now, i don't think i know enough of the game to be give a good and valid point to the discussion, but i have scholar, white mage , and astrologian at lvl 60 + now, and as much as i love Scholar for the pet side and the esthetic of having a little fairy companion, i feel better when i play astro or white mage.
I feel like the fairy potential is not really explored, you can litteraly get rid of it to gain a boost in your healing potential.
Gameplay aside, i don't like that ability because i want the fairy to be with me all the time :3

  3. I started playing about a week ago and playing a Mitoq'te or whatever (cat people) male Gladiator who will eventually be a Paladin at 30. Looking to level Dancer after hitting whatever level it requires (60?). The game is very difficult to get into from a WoW player's perspective. I also play PoE, GW2, and other non-RPG games like Cities and B4B (beta). It also was a problem for me to get into a character. I had to find the right race that I enjoyed watching their animations. Dragon people almost glide when they walk and have a stiff neck, big hulk guys walk like they are trying to be quiet and have no proportional weight to their animations, and lalafell are hilarious and sarcastic which is great but their potato shape bodies make for weird animations. I stuck with the mitoq'e (cat people) because their animations are great and have weight behind their animations. I didn't want to be the cat race at first but after reducing the uwu of the race customization it was a good fit. Then I had to pick which starting job! Started off with archer because I wanted to play dancer but didn't like not being supportive. Most of my games I'm a healer, support, or tank. I tried to find out the best tank for solo since I don't know anyone in FFXIV yet (hopefully soon). Most said Paladin so I made a Gladiator. It took me several days to figure all this out. I'm terrible at starting a MMORPG.

  4. White mage will always, no matter what, be the most popular healer because it's the only one even a fresh new player can chose, and it's by far the easiest and straightforward one (aka, the go-to for lazy people)

  5. A lot of people are intimidated because of the lower rated jobs are not bad at all they just have higher skill ceilings which people don't want to deal with.
I personally use all the hardest jobs by coincidence due to the fact I like to keep my mind stimulated with a challenge MNK,SMN,GNB,SCH
