Our Final Fantasy 14 journey continues! Today we are continuing our journey through the Stormblood MSQ where we’ve finally made it to our first MSQ required trial!

Welcome back to Tiny Blue Games! My name is Csaw or Chris, and today we are talking about Final Fantasy 14 in 2021. Today we are continuing our journey into Stormblood. Today’s video features a live playthrough of The Pool of Tribute, the first MSQ required trial in Stormblood. As with every expansion I’m always super excited to see the new trial content, and this instance certainly did not disappoint!

As a relatively new ffxiv player, I have enjoyed giving my first impressions of the many different pieces of content this game has to offer. If you are interested in exploring the game yourself I suggest you check out the Final Fantasy 14 free trial. This trial lets play all the way to level 60 (including both the base ARR and Heavensward expansion), with no time restrictions. It was ultimately the free trial that convinced me to dive into the full game and the new Shadowbringers expansion!

👀 Did I figure out all of the mechanics by the end haha?

  1. You did really well for your first try. You pretty much figured out all of the mechanics on your own; I'm proud off you Csaw! 😊 I'm not sure if that black mage just didn't understand that that marker meant stack, or what, but they were absolutely trying their hardest to not stack with anyone. They made a couple of small adjustments to move out of your stack marker, and they never brought their own mark to the group, and it killed them once.

By the way, your sen (i.e. the "petals" you were referring to) are supposed to be three different ornate katana cross guards, the small little bullet shaped hole in the center of each one would be where the blade of the katana goes through the guard. The samurai job icon is also a stylized depiction of a katana's cross guard.

I also did have one note about the mechanics in this fight. For the Ama-no-Iwato/Stone Goal mechanic, he just picks a random party member other than the main tank and traps them in one of three gaols, then he shuffles the gaols around the arena. The intention is that you need to keep track of which gaol is the one with the player inside and then break that one to free them, but you actually don't need to keep track at all, because the player always ends up in the last gaol in the enemy list (in this case someone was marking the correct one, as well)

  2. So when it comes to lb3. You should not use it as dps unless Boss has maybe 3 or 4 percent left. Mainly because it only does 3 percent of damage usually. Otherwise leave it for healers to save the group.

  3. hey Csaw, If you like your yaten (stepback) you should pair it with the enhanced enpi before your gyoten (gap closer)
(minmaxers, I know this is not the efficient way of the samurai but it is such a fun trio)
and holy crap! think about a bad example of selfish BLM.

  4. Now that you have Shinten, just make a habit of using it any time your kenki gauge gets high. It's your kenki spender for whenever you don't have a better use. Since it's a oGCD, you can just use it in the middle of combos or whenever else it feels good.
