  1. He plays into the monke brain meme a lot and old Connor from a couple years ago 100% wouldn't enjoy it. But with his playthroughs of FF7, FF8, and most recently, crono trigger (doing several optional side quests and activities) he has stated he has a newfound appreciation for JRPGs.

  2. i think without a guide, pacing of ffxiv for streaming in something like ARR can be a bit rough so i hope their group has fun (as i watch ironmouse sometimes so i know of cwdawg)

  3. It's interesting to me that other creators in the "Japanese gaming creator sphere" wouldn't be familiar with people like Connor, Chris Broad, Sharla, etc. I greatly enjoy the IRL "white people in Japan" genre of YouTube as I typically prefer to call it, so I love their stuff, and I guess I innately would expect that other people interested in games out of Japan would enjoy similar things. But this is evidence of different strokes for different folks, for sure. I hope he enjoys his time with the game and has positive things to say about it.

  4. Anyone who doesn't react how I want them to is automatically a horrible person. Also, I only want streamers to make left turns only in FFXIV. No D key or strafing right. Left only! I'll also get mad if they don't do every Ultimate and rp walk through all of them like a real gamer.

  5. FFXIV plot watchers will do anything to see another popular streamer start playing MSQ. I like Connor but but it isn’t his type of game. And let’s be honest the community….

  6. As a long time cdawgva viewer, I actually think Connor's going to enjoy ffxiv. He recently beat his first two ff games (7 and 8) and enjoyed those despite not expecting to. He also has a strong familiarity with online games so I don't think he'll be jarred by the experience in that regard either.

  7. Fair warning. I’m pretty sure he’s only doing one stream. He said something like that. I could be wrong, but yeah. You’re getting your expectations up if you think he makes it anywhere near as far as Asmongold. He was refusing to play it, but at some point early in the cyclothon he said he would if they hit 1 million for charity, and they actually pulled it off. I think he would be the kind of guy to not skip stuff since it’s like a favor for chat, but he won’t keep playing if he can’t stand it. He’s already said it’s not his kinda game, and he doesn’t care for MMO’s. I think the only way he keeps going is if he find unexpected appeal in some random stuff, and if Ironmouse specifically begs him to keep going. I’m excited to see what happens tho.

  8. idk for me personally i could never get into the story of ff14 but i love the story of other ff titles and other games with ff14 its too much fluff until you get to play theres a pacing issue often i feel and it also just never hooked me story wise i can not even say what it is
It is insane to me how ff14 never won an award for best soundtrack it has the best soundtrack of any game in my opinion

  9. Connor's biggest hurdle is that he tends to try and no-life games on stream. Like FFVIII he did I think over 3 days and like 36 hours of streaming. He might try to do the same for ARR and call it good, which would probably be the best, but if he gets people pushing past that (or that expect him to clear through EW) it'll probably go south fast

  10. I have 2k+ hours in the game, skipped the entire story (as did my mates) and we still have a good time 5 years later. Everyone is different, ffs i hope this community will just let the man play however tf he wants.
