  1. FFXIV offered a free trial for characters up to lvl 60. You had many FFXIV players evangelizing about the game and urging people from other MMOs to " Come on Over!". This is the result. Enjoy your success.

  2. I was still on trial the weekend before last when the servers were too full and I kept getting kicked when I tried to log in. I think it was on July 11. It would totally close the game, launcher, and everything after I got the message saying the server queues were too high and trial accounts couldn't enter queue. I've bought the game since then

  4. I've been playing in coeurl in Crystal for years and it's always been a pretty small cozy server but logging into limsa earlier there were more players than I've ever seen at once even when I played on overcrowded servers

  5. they have learned many lessons this development team and producer, and i am glad they are doing great things for their fans an subscribers.
i hope they continue to stay the course an keep on introducing the core changes we want to see to make ffxiv excel and succeed where no other videogame in the online genre has.
but my fear tho is that by the time they do finally implement all those wonderful an amazing things there wont be very many people left.

you see FFXIV is a casual game its the games targeted demograph those players who just like to play leisurely and widdle away hours at something til they grow tired an decide to take extended breaks or hiatus' if you will, its not an mmo that enforces heavy and extreme grinds that make you want to turn pale in the face and its not competitive in pvp or raiding everything is condensed so that every player can jump into any content regardless of skill level.
and this game as Naoki Yoshida has put it is a FINAL FANTASTY first and an mmo second meaning the story narrative drives the whole game and sells the game to their intended audience.

what i would like to see them do in the very near future is think of ways to make the mmo /multiplayer aspect really stand out more an inspire players to do more together with friends or groups they need to change their formula gradually and get adjusted to a new line of thinking otherwise they are really only going to hold on to the die hard and loyal section of the player base which is not going to see the game flourish at the quick rate we are seeing currently.

and know that i say this not out spite or negativity but i say this out of love and passion that i share for the game as many of you do as well. FFXIV can be so much more than it already is the potential is there the devs just need to seize it and act upon it.

  7. I work in Azure and one of the great thing about it is that you can create scale sets that will add or remove VMs depending on the demand. That would be perfect for them since it’s easy to scale up but if for some reason popularity dips back down you’re not stuck with expensive hardware you don’t need

  8. 2 new data centers, 1 NA one EU. New game only. No transfers until 3 months after endwalker. No time gating unless Sony wants to launch it in windows of like 1.0 content for a month, 2.0 content for a month.. so on until 6.0. Then allow transfers within a few months. This gives truly new customers, a new customer experience.

  9. The afk boot should be permanent afk for more than 30 min and you get booted. I’ve always thought it absolutely asinine that people log in and afk in the same spot, in their stupid glamour that nobody cares about for weeks
WEEKS. Meanwhile they’re costing the company resources and denying people that actually want to play the game a good experience. But there is a large entitlement problem in the ffxiv community so it doesn’t surprise me that they’re already complaining.
