Having awoken from the ordeal, we roam around familiar environs to try to clear our head. However, instead of being relieved to see everyone still doing well, we now feel guilt and unease as we realize that we have the weight of the world hanging on our shoulders. Or, rather, inside our soul.
We speak with the regulars of the Crystarium. Though, there isnât really a clear goal in mind as we go from person-to-person. We end up gathering a brief synopsis as to what happened during our unconsciousness: everyone is confused as to why the light is back, and the Scions are in a mad dash to discover a means to cure our ailment. After a brief discussion with Katliss, we make our way to the top of the watchtower to have a moment of reflection, alone.
Well, it would be alone if Ardbert hadnât decided to join us. He stands by our side during our melancholy, and recounts how he and his fellows had a very similar phase in their life. Truly, if there was anyone who truly understood our predicament, it would be him. Though, instead of being his usual pessimistic/realist self, he takes a turn towards optimism. Witnessing the gargantuan talos come to life and seeing the entire world come together for a singular purpose rekindled the fire of hope inside of him. After a century of roaming as an aimless shade whilst hearing an unending fusillade of curses regarding him and his comradesâ names, he has finally come to terms with his actions with a sense of pride. With this newfound resolve, heâs firmly decided to stand by our side and offer us any support and motivation he can during our times of need.
Shortly hereafter, Feo Ul comes to check up on us. Though, not without remarking their happy surprise over seeing us with a smile rather than a frown. They mention how our soul is cracked all over, implying that we truly are in a very fragile state of being at the present. Upon seeing it, Feo Ul offers to give us their throne so that we may live away from all of civilization in peace, and that the fae folk would rise up to defend us should anyone attempt us harm.
Itâs a kind offer, but the problem isnât our safety; itâs everyone elseâs.
Knowing that weâd reject the offer, Feo Ul decides to give us another piece of advice from the perspective of a fae: to focus on the present; the right here and now. Afterwards, they conclude with a clue as to where we should head next: to see ourselves as the Crystal Exarch saw us.
We make our rounds amongst more fellows of the Crystarium to accrue any additional information on the Exarch that we can. Most of our leads resulted in dead-ends, that is, until we met with Lyna. She had been entrusted a special key to unlock the Exarchâs most private chambers: a room in which absolutely no one was to be allowed inside. She offers to unlock the room for us as a means to find any information we might need to fix everything and find the Exarch.
As we take our first steps into the room, we notice a plethora of books and papers strewn haphazardly all throughout, along with a peculiar device that would seem to be a part of the Crystal Tower. Fortunately, we did not need to struggle through any of the pages to find what we needed, as we were struck with yet another vision of the past.
Urianger and the Crystal Exarch were in this room, and it was here that they discussed all the matters of the future, for that is where the Exarch is from. It is here that Urianger discovered that the Exarchâs true name is âGâraha Tiaâ, the same man we worked with to seal off the Crystal Tower in the Source, and that this particular incarnation of him was awakened some many years in the future after the Eighth Umbral Calamity had struck devastating ruin to the Source. He had traveled back in time to save us, the Warrior of Light, from succumbing to a terrible fate so that the future may yield a brighter tomorrow. In order to do this, he needed to save the First from its Rejoining. However, in order to do this, he needed our power to do so, which brings us to this day. Befuddled by the magnitude of it all, Urianger exclaims his awe at how he had managed to maintain his resolve these many years, and remained true to the plan after all this time. Gâraha responded simplyâŠ
âIt was because of the Warrior of Light.â
He described how our many heroic deeds we had carried out in our lives thus far had given hope to an impossible amount of people throughout the years, and that it was the flame that we had passed down to future generations that kept hope alive for as long as it did.
After hearing all the vision had to tell us, we steel ourselves to make our way to find the Exarch and Emet⊠alone.
âŠOr, we would, had the Scions not caught us before we left, in which they made it abundantly clear that they cared as much for our well-being as we cared for theirs.

I canât wait for you to run through those and get bonus feels!
Big One = NAMAZU.
I'm a bit obsessive about getting all my aethercurrents as early as I can. After that I fly around the map and unlock the rest of it, when I came across Bismarck I looked at the island and was like,"well, that's not an island" đ
THAT OUTTRO. omg its so perfect. the silhouettes into the 4 videos perfectly placed thumbnails etc. <3
Damn man just make trailers for a living. You're SO good at this!
"That island is giving me a Mists of Pandaria vibe, if you know what I mean."
It was not the lunar whale like I expected, but…
20:00 The song is Full Fathom Five, on the soundtrack.
50:00 Oh, let me guess. You hadn't started any of 'em. đ
To be Continued….
at least show off one of them in a highlight reel for your reaction, ive only done the Tank one which was good, but the others shoeld be good as well.
The fun thing about Bismarck on the source is that both the Vanu Vanu and one of the clans of Roegaden have similar tales about the whale. Also holy hell five videos at once? It's like all of our name days have come at once. It's a Starlight Miracle. Maybe.
"This is a good game." True words indeed. What a way to start the current part, too.
[reaching the end of the video]. Oh. Ooooooooohhhh!
That explains everything. And it's glorious and wonderfull and highly appreciated and I applaud you for your effort and thank you twice as loud. But I equally hope that it didn't burn you out and take more of your energy than you were able to give.
LMAO! now i see what u mean when u told me, " u had plans with those side quests ' lol! i honestly didnt know it was a requirment since i did those WAY before the MSQ
watches the whole video and then gets to the end
Ohh… I wondered why you didn't release a video on friday, but it all makes perfect sense now. Well played sir. Well played.
EXCELLENT job on this video. The intro was stellar, and the outro was an unexpected and very well designed surprise! I just finished watching all four, but I wanted to as if you did the last Role Quest which unlocks once the other 4 are completed? BIIIIIG lore drop in that one~
Holy shit that ending, is that the huge thing you were working on?? You absolute mad man you spoil us
You have the greatest intros.
That frigging intro man, tearsđ I already now this is gonna be a great episode!
Bro your intros are going to make me cry.
I honestly expected 1 video today but the fact that you got ALL of the role quests done and edited to go alongside the end of this video shows just how much incredible work you put into this! Loving the journey and can't wait to see what you think of the end Lucron!
Spoiler kinda…but…you may want this one. You unlocked something the game doesn't do a good job letting you know you unlocked…
Keep an eye on the barkeep(might be the waitress) at the Crystarium. At some point during the post story patches he'll have a hidden quest for you to do. As soon as it's there I recommend doing it before continuing the msq.
The themes in the Tempest are just too good. They're both calming and nostalgic at the same time, like remembering a warm memory from a time long past.
The outro was pure gold!
10:48 It's referencing the Namazu beast tribe quests. In addition to the kami, they strongly revere "the Big One", an ancient catfish that they were supposedly created from.
33:29 Even on the Source, the vast majority of Sahagin civilization is underwater, in the Indigo Deep to the west of Vylbrand. Their land settlements (of which the original ones were largely destroyed by the Calamity, leading to Leviathan's summoning and the invasion of Vylbrand) exist exclusively for raising clutches of their gillless children. The beast tribe strongholds we can visit aren't always the centers of their nations (see also: the Amalj'aa and Ixal).
LUCRON MY BOY YOU DID IT AGAIN!!!, THAT ENDING WAS SO CRIPSY I JUMPED OUT OF MY CHAIR
Your opening recaps/minion intros, are immaculate!
That ending screen is a stroke of genius man! So much effort put into it for something that won't show up in YouTube searches… It truly shows your dedication to this series!
Your emotional intros are the best. Seriously thank you for making these awesome videos and let us be part of your journey. You are almost at the end of 5.0.
32:47 This was also the music that played in the towns where you could ride the boat from one continent to another in Final Fantasy XI.
MR LUCRON, SIR,,,,,,,
your playthrough of 5.0 msq has been one of the things i look forward to the most every week, and yet again you did not disappoint–far from it! the music in the tempest is really just gorgeous like you said, and as always your editing is on point. your intro especially is incredible. the thing that got me this time is your outro, i loved the way it looks and the music and how it all plays out–and the delightful surprise that you've got the role quests all ready to go! i can't imagine the amount of effort this all took, and i really, really cannot say thank you enough for sharing your playthrough with us. i doubt it's easy filming and editing on top of playing, and that is a truly commendable thing. as of right now i've only seen the phys dps video (i mained drg for almost all of msq as well so i started there both in game and in watching these!) but honestly, i know this is going to be a really fun ride.
thank you again for all of this–please know that your hard work always pays off, and that we appreciate you. i can't wait to watch the other role quest lines and what comes from the end of shadowbringers! (and if it's not too forward of me to say, maybe i'll spot you around sometime, as i also play on primal!)
hey, lucron, not sure if you've answered this before, but what size monitor do you use? I quite like the space you seem to have for HUD placement.
I love your openers. it's fantastic.
Is… Is that some D4 music at the end there?
I do hope you're taking breaks to do events. I wanna see y'all taking a moment to go geek out at Noct and grab that sweet car!
goddamn that intro was a TRIUMPH. incredible work as always, I always look forward to seeing these
Oh shit, I love what you did with the role quests at the end there. That is really damn creative. I'm guessing the next part of this series will continue from getting the role quest equipment and onto the lower parts of the Tempest? Also, keep up the good work, you really got a unique flair for this, always looking forward to whenever the youtube notification system lets me know you put out another video.
My goodness, this was possibly the most creative way to handle those particular quests!
I genuinely can't wait for the next one, though! With a minor few suggestions: once you hit level 80 on the next set of quests, why not stick to the job you're most comfortable with?
And lastly, on the next dungeon – do note the particular sub area names. That is all… And I do hope your journey into the end of Shadowbringers is better than it's been up to this point.~
Man I would have thought he was up to the later half of shadowbringers by now.
I NEVER EXPECTED A D4 OUTRO FROM YOU! HOLY SHIT THAT CAUGHT ME! I MISS THAT GAME
Good to know I wasn't the only one who struggled to get up to the thing LMAO, hardest boss in 5.0 for sure, that geometry.
BYGAHD I can't ever recover from Alisaie breaking down during that scene in the intro.
Edit: Spelling
Lucron: "Whatever that whale was called."
Game: "Hey remember that whale!?"
Bismarck on the First seems to be equivalent to the mythical Bismarck that the restaurant in Limsa is named after. The true name of the primal Bismarck is The White, the name his summoners the Vanu Vanu use. We only know him as Bismarck because Ishgardians started calling him that because of their familiarity with the stories of the mythical Bismarck and lack of communication with the Vanu.
Welcome to the best secret final zone.
Do the Aether Current Quests here when you get them, before wrapping up 5.0. It will be quite worth your while. Like… it's MSQ without being.
Excellent outro and segue into the role quest videos, Lucron! Your creativity is inspiring! đ
I love how these intros flipped from lighthearted to serious when the story started to hit hard.
Lucron, your adorable. I feel bad for your phobia. But i am so happy to hear your enjoying the tempest. I am so excited for the coming vids!
Also I was wondering if you did those jobquests. I guess that answers my question.
