Lost Ark – The Game That Made Me Quit FFXIV | A Message To All New Players.

A bit of a more personal video sharing my experience through the year of Lost Ark with you and explaining why I left FFXIV behind for this Game. But not only that, I also want to again, really advise you to play Lost Ark at your own pace and not rush through content you actually want to experience properly. The game is not a race, it’s supposed to be enjoyed and I really wanted to put more focus on that part. Hope you guys liked the video.

  1. I have no expectations anymore, so many mmorpgs have let me down in the past 10 years. Its shows how everyone clinging onto this small glimpse of hope on the mmorpg horizon. I hope it is as good as everyone expects!

  2. I’ve seen multiple content creators state rested xp and playing alts as big selling points of the game, something most mmo’s have. Makes me wonder if they’re sponsored and given talking points.

  3. Thank you for the content, I am still re-watching the class guides you released to try to figure out which classes to start with. I do admit to having some concerns with the game, coming from a long MMO back ground; cash shop being a big one (more so since you get these outfits and then hardly get to see them in combat?), the multitude of currencies seemingly in the game, classes are locked to certain genders (??), and finally not being able to reclaim my favorite character names if I want to switch the class etc. Guess we will see how it goes, but being cautious this time after ArcheAge Alpha/Beta/Release etc ^.^

  4. I'm an FFXIV player myself, and while I absolutely love the game, I can't deny that the game is specifically designed for you to not play it religiously. While I think that's a good thing and honestly very healthy, it does suck having to log off simply because you feel there's nothing worthwhile to do. My friends and I are hyped for Lost Ark, it'll be a nice change of pace to have another fantasy game to smash mobs relentlessly with oversized greatswords and magic.

  5. Dude, I ve just played a bit of wow a long time ago, I wanted to try an MMO and because i like action rpg games like Diablo and path of exile I thought this one would be a good idea, but after checking some videos I felt i was signing up for a cult of how to evacuate earth from the end of the world which I had to devote my life to. I was ready to abandon ship when I found your video, now I will give it a try. Thanks

  6. I really like this video. The message itself was delivered in such a heartwarming manner. I even felt a bit squishy listening to it. I had already intended to take my time playing through the game, but now I'm definitely not going to feel pressured into rushing mid-way the journey. ☺️

  7. I'm a huge arpg fan and mmo too, my last mmo was FF14 and Endwalker was my Goty 2021 , EW story was incredible ,might be my top 3 all time.

Can't wait to try Lost Ark

  8. Why do you feel like you need to quit FFXIV to play other games? Don't be so close minded, you can play both. If you only do the raids in FFXIV there's plently of time to play other stuff.
FFXIV has a lot of different content, but you don't need to be interested in all of them to come back and play what you enjoy and leave until there's something new.

  9. Lost Ark looks nice with fun gameplay, but my main criticism for Lost Ark: one tank class, two support classes, thirteen DPS classes. What?

Without having played it, Lost Ark's class system seems … poorly conceived, whereas FF14 and even WOW do a way better job. Even these two 10- and 20-year old MMOs have several classes that fill the tank role and several classes that fill healer/support. And in FF14, there are clear characteristics shared between all classes in each of the Melee, Ranged, and Magic DPS roles, and even better, all combinations of classes that fit the light party/full party role system are viable for completing ANY piece of content (admittedly with varying levels of efficiency, of course).

Seems like a big step backwards in multiplayer, role-based game design. I mean what do all of the other thirteen classes do when they can't find a gunlancer, bard, and paladin?

  10. Thank you for the content as always, I will be taking my time for sure. I have rushed to the ship on a few chars on RU to get a feel for them and will be chilling with a Bard.

  11. Great advice! To be honest, my hype has died during the last couple of weeks due to the houndreds of videos saying you must rush to T3 and have 20 alts. This game is starting to feel like a second job more than anything else. I hope my hype comes back when i play the game with my friends..

  12. When I started looking into this game, I was taken aback when I saw YOU were making content on this game. As an avid FFXIV player I knew your name as an ultimate raider, speed killer, and all around incredibly good player.
I really sympathize with what you said about FFXIV. After 5k hours I find myself getting tired of what the game offers now. The static fights, the gear grind, the gameplay itself. I really love the game and the memories it gave me, but the magic is just gone for me. I'm tired, I've enjoyed it so much and I think it's finally time to put it down… at least until Dragon Song War hahaha.
Thanks for the reminder to go slow. I've certainly felt this pressure to go fast through content during the launch of an expansion in FFXIV and I do miss the magic I felt when I first started the game. I can never return to those first 400 hours of being incredibly bad at the game and enjoying every second of it , and I really don't want to miss that with Lost Ark.

Looking forward to your content on Last Ark!

  13. I'm confused. You say you left FF because the game is too casual oriented, but didn't Smilegate say recently that they were shifting away from making as much hardcore raid content and instead making more casual content?

You say Lost Ark let's you raid as much as you want, but you can raid as much as you want in FF as well. Unless you mean raiding with getting more rewards via alts? Which you can do in FF as well, it just takes time to level, just like LA.

Also, the part about "being able to decide how much you want to play" is confusing as well. You can do the same in FF. Make alts, do tons of optional content, etc.

Am I missing something? Everything you say you left FF for LA over is stuff that FF has as well.

  14. Perfect video to ”finish” off with just befor launch.
Been playing mmo’s since 97 and since 2006 I have just been chasing that new game feeling, hopefully this game will be it.
Just wanna say Thank you for great content. I came here cuz I decided to main a Paladin and your got awsome content for that, but I found much much more and now I really looking forward to do everything with all the classes.
I’m useless at watching streams but I will try to catch some of yours.

  15. I can only play for about one hour a day, so I will always be behind the times, but at the same time I really don't care because I feel absolutely zero pressure to be competetitive and I am looking forward to taking my own sweet time doing whatever I want to do. 🙂

  16. 6:00 thanks for this part. Man, I saw a few videos and liked A LOT about the game, but I will stop there. I want to DISCOVER the game, not learn everything on youtube.

There is no point for me to play if you already know everything from the beggining

  17. You know you can just quit FFXIV or even say im switching my main game to Lost Ark right. Every "I quit X for X" video is heavily related to I "quit WoW fo XIV" videos because of what was going down with blizzard. Do not put down FFXIV because you want to play lost ark. You will get stale of every mmo because of your mindset.

  18. What à lovely vidéo. Thank You for sharing your grounded point of view on your Gaming expérience. Its true that I dont Know Why ppl like to rush thing without savoring a bit of the process, unable to grab all the tears the sweat And the blood the dev shred to create such beautiful game. I Will do as You said (even if I was already decided) I Will play this game At my pace And enjoy every piece of content it jas to offer Because this richness deserves it ! Good luck with your parents !
