in FFxiv all food gives a 3% xp boost, you also have palace of the dead, if you've leveled your Grand company to unlocked squadrons and rank them to rank 2 they can run the 15/60 dungeons with you saves those que times, once you finish ARR MSQ you will unlock New Game+ which allows you to repeat the MSQ or pick sections you want to repeat though you do need to be the appropriate level and once you finish Heavensward that gets added.
The problem with picking different Xpacs in FF XIV to level is it's all 1 big story, where as in WOW each Xpac is a new story and you start off as a lowly pleb again nothing you've done in other Xpacs count for anything, where as FFxiv you have a character arc as the story progresses
Getting 1 job to max gives you extra exp when leveling alt jobs. So finding your favorite job and getting to max should be priority, then you will have an easier time leveling alts. Also unlocking roulettes, Palace of the Dead, Heaven on High, Bozja, ect. will help immensely with leveling alts. I have leveled 6 jobs to level 80 in 3 months and I don't play an insane amount. And i don't only level alts. Joining a free company can also give you a bigger exp boost. Also doing fate trains can also give you a boost. You can see under your exp bar when chain killing stuff and it counts down before you lose chain exp bonus. When getting all bonuses you can get up to ~150- 170% bonus exp. Oh yeah good gives you 3%.
Do you think leveling being only 24 hrs to be a good thing? Or do you think it being longer is better? Or maybe because all the jobs being on 1 character, it's ok for it to be long? I love leveling in FF14 and tried getting into WoW but I didn't find leveling very fun and was confused on what to even do. I tried following the main quests but I'm so used to FF14s style I got really bored. I like the combat but it seems really difficult for new players to get into.
Xiv has new game+ which lets you replay old expansions.
To add to this video, its worth taking a look at the reasons/broader effects of the different character styles. In FFXIV, one of the negatives of being able to do everything on one character is essentially the magnification of the "omni-crafter". Or basically, you reduce the reliance on other players except for dungeons. I believe that when WOW was being made, its foundation being laid, the idea was for players to NEED each other. This is why we see each player limited to two professions, one class, etc.
This isnt to say one is better than the other, but rather to see the effects of modern gaming on the mmo genre: Solo play vs group play.
Also have Palace of the dead/Heaven on hight for leveling, and FATES, Grand Company turn ins, and a few other ways of leveling quick.
