If you die in a dungeon that's on you and only you. If you die that's up to tank what to do. Don't like it? Play tank or do trusts. Or just get good.
ppl die and make mistakes, then blame hte perosn who didnt for not dying?
Lol in reality, most tanks who do this get all the player comms. You died on the fight, you had your chance – just because you blew it doesn't mean everyone else has to. Is it a little considerate and nice to die so that you can get another try? sure. but they're not obligated to by any means. let them have their moment.
If the boss is at 15% or lower just solo the boss down unless the party requests otherwise, if it's any higher than that reset. It all comes down to the party's request at the end of the day. OP either trolling or something. Communication is key. Personally, I'd like it if Tanks can't live without a healer in the party, but those days are long gone.
How did they all die that fast tho. 90% is likr a minute into the fight. I'll never stop soloing boss if ppl cant stay alive especially if they all died that quickly. Also getting kicked as a tank isnt a big, I'll get another instant q while the ppl who kicked me have to wait for a tank.
It's really disrespectful to the people you're playing with because you're wasting a lot of their time and also denying them the ability to do what they sat down to do, which is play a game. It would be one thing if the other players were cheering you on, but when everyone is asking for a reset and you're ignoring them regardless of whether intentional or not, then yes, if they choose to kick you then that's entirely fair. You are being rude and disrespectful to them, which is what vote kicking is for.
Counter point. They're wasting my time by not staying alive. If I can solo it, why can't you stay alive?
Of course you have a lot of time on your hands Zepla, but most people don't have the time to wait 10 to 15 minutes more on a duty, these people deserve to apologies and get kicked, I've never seen a group waiting around at 90% and be happy about it, at least 10%.
TLDR: Tank wanted to be a hero, and lived long enough to become a villain.
Dude can't do math 1 tank dpsing 90% of the boss, is a waste of time. Should've died and do over with 4 players hitting the boss.
Party members overdid by kicking, but they might have asked the tank to die, we don't know.
Tank overdid by reporting players, that is just scummy.
Zepla is right, people lack compassion. Re-learn to be human and think of others, don't just do the worst you possibily can just becouse some one wronged you once on such a trivial matter.
look people that was WRONG and that kind of KICK can and SHOULD get folks the 30 day ban, that is GREIFING. if you are not FARMING a restart is DUMB
i had to solo lunar subterrane endboss once because healer left and leader couldnt figure out how to open the menu to requeue
took about 15 minutes, i get why people would be mad waiting for that long
Tank was wrong, being a dick to the rest of the party, the kick was deserved, the end.
Person wasted far more time soloing.
Situational. For one of the new trials, in week 1, the whole group was new except maybe two people. The group wiped at 40% minus both tanks and one dps. The two tanks sat there for like 20 minutes and got the boss to 3% before they wiped. I mean, it’s a new fight – I want to learn it. I’m not looking for a hero to clear it for me, less sit in spectator mode for longer than the whole duty should take. Just fall off.
As a main tank, I reset unless the boss is low. Otherwise it'll just take longer, and other people don't get to play. My group is 3 of my friends though.
The real problem here is that tank's situational awareness.
I only play WAR for the sole fact that I literally do not need the other three players in the party. If they waste my time by screwing up constantly and not learning, it doesn't matter, I can solo everything.
Hope that person gets the adequate answer without hate. I do agree 90% is too much, if it was 10-15% thats the usual to just solo. i wonder why this stuff only happens with people that only do msq and quit.
I'm definitely in the minority, but I think if you die, you die. You don't have the right to tell another what to do with their HP. Whenever something like this happens to me, which is very rare, I use the opportunity to learn the fight by watching the tank solve mechanics whilst I cheer them on with emotes.
While I would say 25% (1/4 for 4 players) is a good theshold on restarting, the group was given a stress-free opportunity to learn the fight and spent their time malding instead
I can only think of two bosses that can kill the a whole party at 90% life on endwalker and in both cases, those guys would probably die the same way further on the fight… Every time I died in this game and someone start soloing the boss, I would stick my camera on his ass, watch and learn wtf he's doing so I wouldn't suck anymore. Its not like being mad would solve my mechanical problem anyway… Those episodes also got me into tanking. For me the etiquette is: Don't die, but if u do, shut up watch the living doing their thing and learn from it.
TBH soloing boss from 90% to 0 is a super dick move. You pretty much force everyone to wait until you stop rubbing your ego.
Just do this if boss have like 15/10% hp
Dungeon 97 yesterday, our healer died, then shortly after our viper, so me on picto and the gnb tank finished the boss by ourselves 🙂
Long story short, take these with a grain of salt. Most of the people on the forums only do dungeons, and don't do anything else – which in most outrage posts like this has been proven if you look up their history. So for them, it feels like the only content they do is being disparaged.
It's gonna entirely depend on your party, the level of communication, as well as what everyone else is doing.
Been tanking in FF for years, and it's the only game I tank in. The fact people are just finding out about this now, or raising a stink is a bit strange. This isn't necessarily new – Dawntrail is just blowing it up for whatever reason.
In most cases; if the party is communicating – and people understand the fights and mechanics. This is a none issue. Almost never is going to happen.
However, if people are dying to mechanics, healers aren't healing properly, DPS isn't there, then you're going to run into scenarios like this.
And in most cases, people are not gonna complain rather the opposite. The dozens of times this has happened to me over the years it's been rewarded, especially recently – comms, messages of praise, etc etc. There was never a single instance where someone is upset.
Trying to judge a whole class etiquette around dungeons. Not discussing Ultimates, Trials, EXs, Savages, etc etc. Is unhinged behavior, in leveling dungeons no less. This complaint is non-existent in endgame/highend dungeons too.
It's just pitiful.
I think kicking someone for that is pretty ridiculous, we might as well go back to WoW and exprience that toxic bs. But someone should have at least said something like they would like the boss to reset instead of the tank soling. It's just proper ettiquite so more people can play. But kicking. Wow, we're stooping down to Blizzard's level, no thanks..
Better yet, do not die. If you die, do not fking complain.
If they kick you, report, report, and report.
Look… Just don't die. If you did, let the Tank show you how its done
I love cheering on a solo tank from the floor.
I remember that one/two weeks ago, people on the forums were discussing if the game should have an option to "vote wipe" on those cases where everybody dies except the tank, so the decision to continue or wipe the fight is made by the group and not just by one player and most, if not all of the arguments in favour of trying to solo a boss from 80-90% HP to zero were related in some way to just revenge or spite and thats it, basically the tank player deeming the group "unworthy" to do the fight properly so their punishment is to watch the tank for 15-20 minutes trying to solo the fight, such a weird-ass mentality tbh.
I feel like 90 % is too much. But I also have had many groups this xpac that refuse to learn fights and die/get hit by the same thing every freakin time. Before anyone jumps down my throat, I know it's new content but once you see the fight or die to it a few times you should not be getting hit by the same shit and dying at the exact same spot. I have solo'd bosses because I am tired of the healer or dps getting killed over and over and holding us hostage. But I still believe 90% is too much. I wouldn't solo that and waste people's time. But like 25% and under I will refuse to wipe and I will just finish the boss.
Ran Alexandria 1st time last night. Tank was not my issue, rdm was my issue. Was dying quite a bit learning. Well rdm 3 times rez me got a group aoe on his head and ran too me before I could fully heal killing me again. Tank and dps were both up on 2 of them, tank still alive on one. So was no reason for the idiot too stand on me especially with me being the healer.
I don’t think it’s wrong if you can solo it
You're all insane. They all died, they can go into the duty with NPCs if they want to get to play guaranteed. If I can live in a story mode dungeon, I'm staying alive and 1v1'ing that boss from 100-to-0.
The problem is why a tank is able to solo from 90% ? Tank self sustain is too much. This is actually related to healer strike lol
