I'll try my best to not sound like that promotional copy paste (it's gonna be hard) but the free trial of FF14 let's you play through the base game (a realm reborn) and the first expansion heavensward, which is quite a bit of content for free, you'll have to pay for the rest tho, but hey at least it gives you enough time to make that decision based on your experience of those two.

Actually the shadow on the textbox for his name is always the same size in FFXIV, so its not a trace of the erased name, it's just always like that.

8:00 Well, not so much AI as aggro management. Aggro is generated by anything a player does, and heals generate a fair amount. As long as the tank whacks things correctly, it's usually not an issue, but if the healer casts Regen (a heal-over-time spell) before the Tank rolls into whackin' range, the monsters notice the healing and decide that guy-in-a-dress is on the menu.
That red creature was a kobold and jocat made a plushy of it. sadly the plushy campaing ended
I think that red lizard fox is supposed to be a Kobold, basically a lizard Gobbo.
