for FF14 in particular, I don't play it like at all, BUT the graphics have a nostalgia quality to them. I've felt that way since launch though, not sure why…has like this "ps2 but better looking" vibe lol
Pretty sure most ppl dont play fir the graphics
Considering the graphics still look good, that's not a sticking point for people to come back. For context… WoW has looked like a glorified mobile game for literal decades and people keep playing.
I'm not going back because I don't like games that center core gameplay around farming tokens, and locking all the stuff I want behind raid content I'll never get to complete. The game doesn't appreciate my time, and is more like having a second job where I'm not able to do what I want until I put in enough time participating in game modes to collect currency which will allow me to do the thing I originally set out to do. The game is basically just another job that doesn't pay real money.
I think for most players in the community it IS the content that they come back for. But for some others it maybe actually be the visual aspects of the update.
Personally I do love the way it currently looks for nostalgia reasons, but I would LOVE to see what it would look and feel like playing the game against after thr update.
Cause I'm a visual person mostly when it comes to games, especially mmos. I love starting at certain things for hrs getting lost in them.
So this will be very exciting and interesting to see!
