  1. Yoshida did say that XIV would not have been here today without WoW.
Is it a clone though? At this point, I would say not. They may have started taking a lot of systems and inspiration from Blizzard but Sqex have since made XIV their own. Not stagnate in their ways, to keep going forward and innovate.

  2. At this point WoW needs to become a clone of FF14. Blizzards story telling has been the drizzling shits for years and the way they just discard the expansion systems as soon as the newest expansion rolls out. FF14s expansions and story telling flow smoothly from one to another.

  3. I just don’t understand the love for FF14. I think it’s a watered down storyline compared to almost all the other FFs. The cutscenes are weird trying to incorporate your character but it just falls flat to me and the gameplay is legit teleport every 20 seconds to a new location. Maybe for an mmo the story is okay but really I just don’t see it. The game has been what it has been for years..just because random people all the sudden take a massive liking to it just to try to spite blizz in a way doesn’t make it a great game.

  4. Wait, why did he think people would be upset about a lore reset to the end of Legion? Everything since then has been absolute trash in terms of lore. PLEASE make it all a vision of N'zoth and undo the complete destruction of the WarCraft lore. Danuser took over in BfA, used BfA to wrap up every loose end that Metzen left, and then used Shadowlands to replace everything with his own vision, his own Cosmology, his own Titans++, his own Valkyr, his own druids, his own scourge, and it all SUCKS. Throw it away. It's not even hard. Before his junk retcon, it is PERFECTLY in keeping with the lore of the Old Gods to want to undermine our character's faith in the reality of the WoW universe. Just erase all this junk and fire Danuser. Put the lore in the hands of someone who actually cares about the IP.

  5. Just wanna say you know the movie expendables. Where you have all.your action stars in 1 movie. Ff14 reminds me from that movie. All final fantasy games mashed into 1. There's so many references from all the other final fantasy games wrapped in one. Coming from a player that has played every final fantasy up to 15. And also 12 years of WoW. They definitely are 2 different types of games. I don't really see any difference other than the tab targeting system. The crafting is different, the story. Now for your msq is basically solo in 14 compared to wow where you can group up with your friend at level 1. Both games are good. I loved legion cringed with bfa and shadowlands. I won't give any spoilers to shadowbringers so. I'll leave it at that.

  6. It’s such a misconception that you can’t like 14 if you don’t like story. Well I personally love the story and lore, i know plenty of people who are just as hc of an FFxiv player as i am who have skipped every cutscene. Do i think you are missing out on part of what makes 14 special if you don’t try to immerse yourself? Yes, but it’s absolutely false that you must enjoy the story to enjoy the game.

  7. It's far more accurate to say that FF14 is a child of WoW. It took some DNA from 1.0 and WoW and created ARR. It's like the bastard child of a rock star that was raised right and became a CEO.

  8. Interesting fact. SE does not give any of their employees a free FFXIV account. All of them have their own personal accounts that they use. So even though they are making the game. They are still a customer on the user end, and just another player.
