Planned Viper Adjustments
Newly released in Patch 7.0, we’ve received feedback pertaining to the busyness of their skill rotation. To that end, we’re planning several improvements, including the easing of directional requirements, and changes to the effects of several actions. We’re aiming to implement these changes in Patch 7.05, though we also intend to make some smaller adjustments to the range of certain abilities in Patch 7.01. It will take a while longer, but we hope to address player concerns as best we can.

I will do a follow up Video as soon as these changes are deployed.
You’re back! Missed you!
For the single-target positionals, the end positional is based off of the second ability hit in the combo. For instance, if you just keep hitting Steel Fangs (ignoring the combo action for potency increase) the final action will always be a flank and vice versa for Dread Fangs. After performing one, it always seems to flip flop from flank to rear to flank. Knowing this gives the Viper a GCD to position themselves. It's weird compared to other melee classes where you always know where your positional will be based on the skill (also I still miss Kaiten, gone but not forgotten).
This guide might be outdated in a couple of weeks, seems like some people find this too "difficult" smh
Nice blades on your viper man
Nice!
I wanna get to 100 but I don’t wanna get to 100 because then I’m wasting xp using the job
Best guide on the viper I've seen yet. No one has pointed out the color coated rear and flank positionals which makes it a lot easier to keep track of what positions you need. You'll still have to memorize 2 positionals that aren't color coated, but other than that the color coated ones make it so much easier.
I feel like this job at first was daunting but once you get started with it it is a very simple job to understand the rotation pretty much is self explanatory with how things light up even though it is a simpler job to pick up and play it’s still very fun and I absolutely love it
Been tinkering around and struggled to find the right flow, this made it easier and straightforward! Cheers mate!
You don’t want to open with dreadwinder
