The day after my 2D vtuber debut, we had a FFXIV community night where we held a “PVP-enabled Alliance raid”. It was a party finder alliance raid where the goal of the party finder was to PVP as many people as possible, while still completing the raid. That being said, everyone in this raid knew that it was a PVP run, and everyone was consenting to shenanigans!
I got to show off one of my favorite raid-wiping mechanics in this fight that a lot of people don’t know about…
The mechanic in the video requires a certain number of people to stand on every circle. It ALSO requires that they’re specifically standing, not jumping. If you jump, it no longer counts you as being on the circle. In this clip, I was on a circle that required exactly 2 people, with one other person. To wipe the raid, it takes 3 circles to not have the right amount of people. 2 other circles were missing people, so because of me jumping at the right time, it gave everyone 3 vuln stacks and killed most of the raid. Because the GNB in one of the parties lb3’d at the perfect time, it kept their party alive through this mechanic. It was pretty cool!
