I genuinely like gathering. It's relaxing. While it's less passive, the job quests and even Studium quests are have fun stories that build out the world.
Crafting takes a bit more effort for me I find the prices for crafter turn-in items can get a bit crazy.

I actually like crafting and gathering. It's very cathartic. I realized I was low on some pigments, so I went out to get a few (and a few crystals while I was at it, why not?) and I wound up accidently leveling my Botanist at the same time. If you do want to send your gathering retainers for something, however you DO have to actually go out into the wilds to actually gather it first though!

I have been doing this for my crafters for the last week and a half, I started at lv 25, now I'm at lv 47
When I started playing a few months ago, I tried crafting but I found it really boring at first. I took a long long break from it, and only recently decided to give it another try. I'm glad I did, now I absolutely love it! Once I got to the higher level crafts, I enjoyed the challenge of trying to make high quality items, and I love the feeling of seeing the things I create get sold on the market board 🙂

Hate crafting. Luckily a guy in my FC has been played since 2012 and is loaded in game and will be like "hey lets power level your culinarian" and I just turn in 100 leves. Cool dude.
