When you get to the end of 5.0, I HIGHLY recommend you do the optional dungeons ASAP before moving on with the story. There is some VERY important lore in them, moreso than some of the optional dungeons of previous expansions. As soon as you finish the 5.0 quest, you'll see the blue quests in the Crystarium so you can't miss em.
At around22 / 23 that screaming is a meme its a catgirl voice. Its so annoying lol
As a former combat soldier that lost my best friend in Iraq, I felt the scene with Captain Lyna harder than most could. Survivor's guilt is a real thing, and a really hard thing to live with.
This scene is the reason I became a fan of Salome Gunnarsdottir (Lyna's voice actress). I had no idea who she was before Shadowbringers. Now, I follow her work. Her delivery is beautiful.
30:45 Back in ARR I found the voice acting so bad that I turned my game to japanese. I didn't know the acting had improved in the subsequent expansions since I basically played the game fully blind. But this moment, when I saw a streamer playing through it, made me regret my decision to ever change it. This is one of the best performances I've ever seen. I can't come up with words to describe how real and emotional it feels.
Oof, big emotions this episode.
Magnus' wife passed away finding that rare ore? Sounds like she died in vein…
I'll see myself out
57:38 This quest is named "The Trolley Problem". The quest is named after a moral conundrum regarding intervention vs. non-intervention. The basic premise is a runaway trolley is on a track, with five people in its path. They are guaranteed to die without intervention. The only thing you are able to do is divert the trolley onto a different track, with one person on it. The conundrum is this: Do you switch the track, saving those five, but through your action condemning one? Or do not intervene, leaving the trolley as is, and leaving those five to die?
There are many variants that change peoples' responses. Different numbers of people, whether or not you know or care personally any of the people, a single track that has a Black Mage's Leylines, etc.
It boils down basically to: two individuals or groups, one of those two must be sacrificed. Do you let it play out, or do you intervene?
When Vaughtry's ships came in right after Linas emotional out break .. I was so furious almost shouting at the screen … someone Fire IV them … dam let me change to my MCH … I will shoot them down myself the mfs ….
1:46:42 I think someone needs to break the news to you. Urianger is like in his late 20s to early 30s. He’s younger than Thancred despite the grey hair.
Glad you didn't have this part spoiled for you. 🙂
12:55 That is the music of DOOOOOOOOOM!
15:25 Allagan tech: always stylish and always impressive.
33:25 Damnit, I got tears in my eyes from the aftermath of this duty. It gets me every time.
37:30 Damn, I'm sniffling again.
45:13 You know Emet so well by this point.
1:49:00 Emet is so extra.
Nice job with the tool jokes. But yes, so many kwestshuns.
1:28:25 — Remember, "Lil'filia" is a child. She thinks she understands Thancred's motives, she believes she knows what he wants but things are never easy, especially where the heart is concerned. – I love this episode… or rather what happens later. It just explains everything 🙂
LONG LIVE THE TROLLEY!!!
ALL HAIL THE TROLLEY!!!!
let all the question simmer
let them all cooked
XD
Wouldn't be a good week without a 2caves 2 hours vid feelsstrongman
I got Crystal Exarch spoiled to me really early on (even pre-Shadowbringers, I think roughly around Heavensward) so his mystery never hit me as hard as it did other people. Nevertheless, his story is fascinating one.
Lyna's scene kills me a little every time I watch it. Big shout out to Salome Gunnarsdottir for nailing her role.
Also Hills of Amber remind me Nier even more than before. Especially with bits of Western in Nier Reincarnation.
