I Found the Most TOXIC Player in FFXIV

My high end mythic WoW raider friend has finally made his way back to FFXIV. While it was my first impulse to want to tell him to “take it slow!” and “enjoy the story!”, I realized that this wasn’t the play.

Garosh Jr likes to take pride in his accomplishments in MMOs, and I hope he’ll be able to have fun and maybe one day, try the MSQ

  1. About Quin69.
He bought a Story Skip right after running Sastasha the First Time and then said that the
Story ist shit and even WoW haves a better Story (while skipping the while Story Up to Stormblood or Shadowbringer). To make it Wiese He Booster His Character and tried the harder Content in the Game without learning to play the Class or some of the Basic Game Mechanics. He failed and blamed everyone Else.

  2. As a FF14 player, I dont mind people that want to skip or boost (Kinda cringe to buy a game to skip it but is your money), what we dont like is if you skip the story dont say the story is shit or bad, thats all. Is like reading the first and last page of a book and saying the story is shit. Just my 2 cents.

  3. I think you're missing a key peice of information in regards to Quinn.

Ff14 players aren't mad at Quinn for skipping.
They're mad at him because not only did he skip the story and then say the story was shit. After he skipped it…
He alsi can't even play the mechanics of the raids and dies and blames everyone else. And says the game is shit.

They're mad at him for being extremely disingenuous and a liar.

  4. I'd craft the ilvl 580 gear for him free, and go have fun if he were in my DC/Server. Maybe at some point he would be interested in trying some other aspects of the game.

  5. I don't mind people skipping its just sad they don't know the context of dungeon or raids. Also by skipping earlier dungeons they miss out on learning the visual clues of mechanics.

  6. I'm one of thse people where.. I judge you for skipping, but it ain't my money you're wasting so you do you. What I dont like and will raise hell over, is when folks who do skip start completely shitting on the game, its mechanics and stories as if they didn't dig their own grave for that one. If youre going to skip do your homework and dont be a douchebag and blame everyone else because you dont know what an aoe marker or a stack marker are.

Quin was an asshole who blamed others for his failings to properly prepare himself.

  7. From 2013-2019 I story skipped (But didn't boost). Until I beat the initial Shadowbringers and everyone was raving about the story of it.
A few months later. I went thought the entire game NewGame+ from the beginning. Took me a few to several months but was worth.

In the end. Don't be mean about skipping story. I think if people keep talking about it around someone that skipped it, it'll get them interested. Even if it takes them years.

  8. Know lots of skippers in my FC, zero problems with any of them if they actually try to learn how to play the game. Did UWU with some WoW refugee friends and had a great time. I don't even mind basic questions but it's annoying when people won't read something that's literally in their face, multiple times. It's hard to imagine playing an RPG when you hate reading that much.

  9. I think the moment you realized that you don’t have to force him to do the story is the moment you fully converted. You’re happy and hoping he enjoys the game . That is all that’s enough. Garrosh jr will take what he wants from ff14and then we’ll see where he goes from there.

  10. Like others have said, you're missing a lot of details about the Quin69 situation.

To add, when the Echo and Limit boys started and boosted and skipped through ShB story, no one jumped on them for it. Why? They were open about their intentions with FFXIV from the start: 'Not interested in story, just want to check out the endgame raids blind. Maybe participate in the world first race when Endwalker raids are released.' And everyone was fine with that.

  11. I know people that played through the entire story and found it boring. I think people take this kind of thing far to personally even though it takes nothing away from thier own personal experience, they can't accept the idea that some people won't like FFXIV's story.

  12. How do you get as many hours as you have and make a topic about the place and you don't know it's GOLD Saucer. Not Golden.

Anyways, good video, it just irks me that the name of it is right there every time you teleport to it and yet people still say it incorrectly.

  13. Um…your summary of the Quinn incident is an extremely gross mischaracterization.
We didn't give him crap for Skipping, we gave him crap for skipping the story then saying the story was bad. Please if you are going to try and gaslight us, at least get your basic information right. Unsubbed.

  14. Regarding Quin (and as you can see throughout the rest of your comment section thus I'll be just doubling down), the guy straight up claimed the story was shit without experiencing even a fraction of it.
Sure he could hate it all the same in the end, but making such a remark after Sastasha just doesn't cut it.
That and also he goes about doing SB content, dying like a scrub, complaining about being the game's or the team's fault and in the end, in his "review" writing down he was able to "keep up" with the people through hard content…

Those are the reasons it was such a distasteful take.

He may hate the game all he wants, sure it might not suit everyone's fancy… But plastering an unfounded opinion and straight up lies sure didn't sit well for most.

People skip cutscenes, skip the story all together, no one cares. But those do not get a say on anything about any of that content.
It's like not voting in an election and then complaining about the government.

  15. We don't get mad because of story skipping or level boosting. We get mad because of shit talking when you know jack sh!t about what you are talling about. If you skipped the story please never make a comment about it. You ate missing a lot of context. If you boosted please never make a comment about the class/job until you can play it decently. For example we all knew Xeno skipped story and boosted classes but he never made comment about story that he doesn't know. And he played his classes well. Well enough to make guides of them.
