I don’t know what a final fantasy is….
Final Fantasy 14 or FFXIV is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed and published by Square Enix. Directed and produced by Naoki Yoshida, it was released worldwide for Windows and PlayStation 3 in August 2013, as a replacement for the failed 2010 version of the game, with support for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and macOS releasing later. Final Fantasy XIV takes place in the fictional land of Eorzea, five years after the events of the original 2010 release. At the conclusion of the original game, the primal dragon Bahamut escapes from its lunar prison to initiate the Seventh Umbral Calamity, an apocalyptic event which destroys much of Eorzea. Through the gods’ blessing, the player character escapes the devastation by time traveling five years into the future. As Eorzea recovers and rebuilds, the player must deal with the impending threat of invasion by the Garlean Empire from the north.
The original Final Fantasy XIV, released in September 2010, was a commercial and critical failure. In response, then-Square Enix President Yoichi Wada announced that a new team, led by Yoshida, would take over and attempt to fix the issues with it. This team was responsible for generating content for the original version as well as developing a brand new game which would address all of the previous release’s criticisms. This new game, initially dubbed “Version 2.0”, features a new game engine, improved server infrastructure, and revamped gameplay, interface, and story. The original version shut down in November 2012 and was followed by an alpha test for Version 2.0.
The game released to largely positive reception; critics praised the game for its solid mechanics and progression, and they commended Yoshida for turning the project around. After a poor 2013 fiscal year, Square Enix executives attributed the company’s 2014 return to profitability in part to the game’s strong sales and subscriber base, reaching a total of over 24 million registered players by October 2021, also becoming the most profitable Final Fantasy game to date. The game has had a number of post-release updates produced for it, including four major expansion packs: Heavensward (2015), Stormblood (2017), Shadowbringers (2019), and Endwalker (2021).

I Finished FFXIV Stormblood

Jordy I want you to know that you completed Stormblood in less time than I. Someone who has 3,693 hours in FFXIV.
my opinion on stormblood has moderated over time, but i still think its the weakest expac. not bad, just weak.
Why did you have to show us all dead in the 1st Shinryu phase 💀
Another great video, and I'm happy to see you didn't fall for the anti-Lyse propaganda!
stormblood is one of my top expansions. the story isn't the greatest, but the level 70 content is SO good. i love the trial series, raids, and eureka so much
52 minutes, Jordy! Hold on, Imma grab a drink.
I loved this video I have been subscribed when you first started and I love seeing what you think of the game as me and my dad played and still play this game for many years.
10:59 Because that would mean the empire has a wonderful excuse to jump at all the Confederates in the area and kill thusands, leaving you without potential allies AND making your movements tougher.
In fact many of these can be summarized for that reason.
I once saw a streamer complaining as to why they didn't attack Varis in Heavensward when he shows up with a massive ship ready to shoot at all the Vanu if you touch him.
The WoL is strong, but he can't be everywhere at once.
16:10 Also about this
First of all Gosetsu disagrees with Yugiri not because Zenos is too strong. In fact Yugiri makes the case to Alisaie and she has no retort that Zenos main strength is on the battlefield and fighting him there is fighting to his strengths, assassination is something he is not proven to be extremly powerful at.
Gosetsu disagrees with the fact they may not be ready for the empire counter attack after.
Regardless. When has the Warrior of Light ever disagreed to a plan that is too dangerous?
Last time I checked he loves to be thrown at the face of gods by himself, sometimes even through experimental means that will kill him before he even reaches the god. Hell when Estinien was like "Ok dude, now lets turn left here and kill an Elder Dragon, one of the most powerful beings on the earth, right on his home surrounded by his brood, ALSO very powerful beings" You go "ok sounds good" and actually kill it lol. I don't see why the WoL won't see this as being different. And Yugiri already made clear that she won't back down, so your only chance is to either help her not die by herself. Or to restrain a master spy, playing to her strengths and not to yours…
Oh and one thing for the 16:54 bit. That's just damage from the battle thus far. It's showing you you became stronger and actually managed to fight back enough to break a part of his helm.
Outraged over having to pick up poop for a quest? Never played WoW I see.
And I thought Stomblood is a decent xpac but it has one major, glaring flaw. One that, without it, the story would be unaltered, but despite of the pacing issues in the first part in Ala mhigo, it would make it overall less of a drag… Lyse.
Everytime she opened her mouth to speak the obvious, I seriously wondered why was she even there other than to be the link between the liberation and the Scions, despite the fact that the Scions had plenty of reasons to take part even without her being involved.
I just replayed Stormblood recently and I really enjoyed it. It's still probably my least favorite expansion but still a game I do not mind playing. The music was killer in the entire expac. The song you used in the intro almost made me tear up. I feel like the dang dog in the bell treat study thing lol. I hear the music, I cry xD.
I love your take on Lyse. I also think that people saying she's the worst is just unnecessary.
Your reaction to the scene after credits xD pretty much everyone's reaction I feel lol
i had you on the 2nd screen while i did savage…
Awesome story telling! You did the expansion proud, gave it the credit it deserves and took in all the nuances. <3
Glad u enjoyed stormblood m8! you've got one hecc of a storm coming in the next expansions.
I enjoyed this longform video, and I'm glad you like Stormblood. It certainly had it's moments. It might be the weakest FF expansion to some people, but that doesn't mean it's bad. The game is just really good lol.
the pacing was bad but that's it
everything else about SB is great
So the moral of the story, Lyse bad.
6:14 – "Bribe" is a funny way of saying "blackmail" 🙂
Great vid!!
can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the patch content. 🙂
stormblood had its flaws but its leagues above endwalker.
I'm rather surprised you like Hien after you've played the expansion through. I've always maintained he deserted Doma, and he would've stayed in hiding if you didn't catch him in the Azim Steppe. For the efforts of the WoL in Stormblood, he/she should be the rightful ruler of Doma.
His plan to use the people of the Steppes is ridiculous, if not at least exploitative.
Stormblood isn't bad it's just not as good as the other expansions, that's usually how I explain it to people. Still better than ARR though on a whole.
