  1. I know the graphics of WoW can be viewed as simply bad or stylized. Maybe seeing upgraded graphics for so long have made the cartoony look of WoW unappealing. FFXIV doesn't make you do chores, and it sounds like less waiting overall.
I would like to hear him elaborate on the topic.

  2. As a WoW alumni, I know I can't go back.
It's not the graphics, but the sum of its parts.

It's the story that wants to keep you engaged, the music that wants to keep you enthralled. The Addon-less raids that keep you focused. The friendly community. The freedom to just… go race and raise chocobos, or just pick up a new job/class on the same character, and that no content is ever truly trivialized.
The seriousness and the playfulness and the respect it gives your time.
FF14 doesn't gate me with weird and forced systems to hold onto my subscription.

Look, all that said I loved WoW. The sense of place in a larger geographical space is better of WoWs world design, and the freedom of World PvP was one of its strongest selling points, especially WoW Vanilla (which the way FF tells story, world pvp just isn't an option.)

But the biggest difference between WoW and 14 is that every expansion in 14 builds upon a greater whole, WoWs expansions make earlier content pointless. And don't get me started on how 14 handled redoing the early leveling experience versus WoW.

Truth is- 14 is the better package, especially if you're new to MMORPGs, because 14 isn't gonna kick you out of an expansion narrative once you hit an arbitrary level.

  3. I feel like WoW graphics and even something simpler like Starcraft (non-remastered) are quite timeless. Now trying to go back to Warcraft 3 was tough and reforged being rushed did little to help.

  4. I'm very happy to see how many people are breaking through the fog of bullshit that is Blizzard and start to see things clearly.

FF14 is what happens to people who beat their copium addiction.

  5. FFXIV is just the complete package. I miss the game WoW used to be where you would hit 60 then progress through the raids. Now your just play the current patch. WoW was never meant to be a seasonal game what the fuck even is a seasonal game? The very concept is trash.

  6. I do want to play WoW but seeing how they turning it into a ultra woke virtue signaling game just doesn't make it for me… On top of that it's not only on retail which I could say "ok, I'll just play classic"… They are touching TBC in ways they shouldn't have. It feels as if we (the players) are the ones being punished for the stupid sh** they made IRL, so to me they did kill wow with that (aside from shadowlands being cringey and boring as hell, with the exceptions of dungeons and raids, the rest is super unnecessary and does feel like a chore)

I'm glad I've been playing FFXIV since ARR beta, as I was already there way before it exploded in popularity and I can confirm each expansion it does feel even more right to play this game (btw been doing only eureka the last month, which is 1 expansion old content and doesn't feel like a waste of time as doing let's say legion class hall campaign, or azerite power…)

  7. I actually really like how WoW handled the game's graphics to a more polished cartoon style. That said, the outdated engine take its toll and every armor seems just lazy and unappealing, and gets worse when you see NPC's getting better clothes/armor. Not to mention the other hundreds of problems blizzard has brought…

  8. WOW looks like a high res dreamcast game, go look at old games like skies of arcadia, sonic adventure 2, and power stone, wow graphically looks EXACTLY like those games, it's weird lol.
