  1. Honestly endgame is a bit different. Since most players don't want to go against TOS, people just kick low dmg players or those that fail mechs a lot. I guess some people could call it fake positivity.
There are of course a lot of swearing, but they are mild at best, since they too want to avoid a penalty.

  2. But all the try hard people are coming to FFXIV lol. People are all excited about the massive increase in the game’s population not realizing that it will ruin the game’s community.

  3. Played WOW for 15 years. Came to FF14 and was absolutely overwhelmed by people making trades with me with starting level gear and 10,000 Gil without even saying a word.
FF14 community is incredible and it has brought back a feeling inside me I haven't felt in a long time. No pressure and the environment of everybody just having fun.
This will also be my main game now. 😎✊

  4. I’ve been playing since 1.0 and ARR launch. I wouldn’t say there are no try hards but overall I feel like the game has a better community.

I mean I’ve been playing since launch so it’s only natural I’ve run into a few people I wanted to Sparta kick off a ledge.

In the end most dungeon runs end up being mostly quiet experiences with people not really caring what happens as long as Boss=Dead.

  5. I did a duty roulette just before I went to bed and some random wished me “to have sweet dreams and find good sleep” I was like wtf, especially after I woke up from sweet dreams and good sleep lol

  6. As much as I loved wow throughout most of my life and childhood. Playing this game has made me realize just how toxic wows community has become over the years. And it's honestly probably a good thing that I left

  7. Even if Final Fantasy turns out to be only a small respite from WoW for some. I wish you all the best of times during your stay, i'm personally very happy to have you. <3

(Also, protip: if you have a question about something, just look it up bc nobody ever gets the answer right lmao)

  8. oh no… this sounds like a call to arms for the
…. others to come, prepare your best behavior! Heaven forbid they bring the storm with them on demanding devs for changes in the game.
lastly, I hope I'm just a grumpy gamer and I'm wrong.

  9. Perfect explanation. WoW is one big d#@$ measuring contest and the elitist culture thrives on it and the inevitable toxicity that arises because of these systems. The world created these players and XIV is the polar opposite.

  10. I think people are generally nice because the brand "Final Fantasy" has made a lot of us very happy over the years, so we try to spread the happy and share in the nostalgia.

  11. I think people are actually happy with the game and not cloning to it out of desperation like what happens to most MMOs. I was a very salty gamer in the final months of my WoW career
