  1. I tried to re-record it with my own voice, I tried SO HARD to sound okay during this recording. I'm stressed. I still can't see my boyfriend he's been in the surgery. I'm sorry about recording, tried to sound as calm and not frantic and depressed as possible.

  2. The reason why shader tools are alright and why they wouldn't be picked up by anti cheat either is cause they work through directx without interacting with the games code or packages unlike other addons/mods. This is the same reason why shader tools also work for other games and not just for XIV specifically. The thing is that even NVIDIA officially has a shader option in the "Experience" app. And that works also with XIV. Even if XIV would check your RAM with anti cheat software it wouldn't detect shaders cause they inject themselves directly into directx. That doesn't count for overlays etc. tho that might be a bit tricky anyways cause we also have the steam overlay.

What is not just working through directx are ofc commands that shut down your pc and well that is outright illegal in well probably everywhere. I think the dev of gshade hasn't fully grasped that he commited basically a literal federal crime in at least the US and EU. Which alone could get them years and years of prison, especially on this large scale.

As usual i expect nothing to come from this, SE knows that banning all the modding folks would ruin their profits and stock, obviously. And corpos care more about money, i don't think their shareholders would accept them banning a huge chunk of their playerbase that literally advertises the game for free on every social media platform there is. Most communities nowdays, for the better or worse, rely on mods and addons. Be it the guide makers who need to literally see damage numbers etc. to well find the best rotation for a job or all the "creative" people who are into housing, roleplay and gpose. None of these guides out there would be as finetuned and accurate if people didn't had damage meters to actually check the numbers. Cause for whatever reason SE still thinks that the target dummy training is a viable way to learn your job.

Edit: There is also one forum post by a community manager that once said that shader tools are alright cause obviously they don't interact with the games code, usually.

  3. Gshade has also proved that like Yoshi P stated, anything can be attached to your system as well FFXIV system doing things without you knowing. Think about playing FFXIV and Gshade is going through the system stealing data, that could get your banned. Gshade hurt the community big time.

  4. I didnt have any problems sofar… but I did notice that GShade isnt working properly lately: several updates within a few weeks, and it loads way slower than usual. But I dont have any other shaders to begin with: I mostly use a single overlay, just to make the colors pop, and leave the thing alone. Only for gpose I use some other pre-sets…

But this is indeed troubling news… Usually, if there's more competition on the market, people improve their product. The GShade people on the other hand actively make their product worse. Meh -.- Seems like I have to check out another shader… I love this game, but I really wish those grafic updates would come sooner rather than later. Before I had shaders, my dad looked at it and was like "my, thats bland looking". Dont get me wrong, I love the grafics as they are, just not toning and values.

  5. GShade was the only tool that the developers allowedit was even metioned the terms ToS. The outcome of this is even worse because GShade was a role model for tools that could get official support and be way to make third party toold more public. But now it's gone…

  6. Well one more reason to never use any addon, for me.
Nahhh SE will never approve any 3th party tools. cause if they say one is ok, players would automatically start asking "what about this or this" and try push line farther and further

  7. It's absolutely hilarious because GShade is just a fork of ReShade, and because of it, it itself has to be open source too. People are absolutely allowed to make forks of GShade, it's how open source works. Dude's just on a weird ego trip, and I hope he faces some consequences on github. At this point, most people will probably just use ReShade anyway, GShade as a fork has minimal to nonexistent advantages either way.

  8. Hey guys just wanna say. I was hero for putting malware into your gshade…said no one. Like bruh that guy really thought we would praise him like some heroic figure…. God when did common sense die…what did we do to deserve these stupid people. Ima say this. If you are hurt cause of others…question is why. Play this game for yourself. I give no fucks who clears raiding content day 1. All that matters is a guide for the help. World first dont care. World second meh. World third never heard of ya. I like using my mods but shame they may one day 100% go cause we have community of retards who forgot their football helmet. The point is. Fuck them dude at the end of the day YOU NEED TO LOOK OUT FOR YOU WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THESE GUYS. You matter. Take a page from the Dark Knight Story Line Your mental health, health in general needs to be your concern. If people wanna cheat who cares they will get found out. Yet you need to not maul over on these guys.

  9. At the end of your video here @cole… you said exactly what I was thinking verbatim.

I'm not trying to cast any (g) shade; sadly this level of drama is not far off base imho.

I still love the community as a whole and overall we are better than this. It is just hard to see that at times like these.

(PS Yoshida will never say 3rd party add-ons are OK, but I do believe he's of a similar thought process as most of us for cosmetics. Even still this looks super bad.)

  10. Gshade dev 100% is at fault but at the same time the community that uses Gshade most of you are such cry babies honestly Gshade has been a free service and could have been charging you monthly for a sub. But NOOOOOOOOOO you guys wanna complain that you have to update it and when you try to change that and your computer restarts you cry like the big babies you’ve been. Honestly I’m glad the dev is not supporting Gshade anymore good riddance this community has been a little stuck up recently ( some of you haven’t complained, good on you talking about the others)

  11. gshade's issue wasn't so much that it was a third party tool [and in fact, it has been said that gshade/reshade were technically allowed under the ToS] It was more that the dev is a royal twat that decided putting malware into their software to have a pissing contest with a sixteen year old was funny. That wouldn't go off well in any industry.

  12. It's so ironic that by trying to prevent people from using reshade, gshade just ended up driving everyone to it.
Btw, this isn't drama. It's a full on controversy

  13. This is exactly why Yoshi-P doesn't support 3rd party tools. He's a developer himself, so he's quite well aware of the vulnerability they pose. The reason gshade or reshade is a grey area is because most of these shaders if not all are part of the directx API. You can even use something like freeform from nvidia to directly load the shaders into your games. Hopefully with the upcoming graphic update in 7.0, there will be less of a need for this.

  14. I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, but isn't this a malicious attack on user's PCs? I mean I get people aren't suppose to be using these mods, but it was common knowledge that most players used Gshade and even the Devs of FF14 acknowledged this to some degree… So, what Gshade has done is obviously malicious and isn't there some sort of legal step users could make? Again, I am not sure and don't mean to sound ignorant.
