Gone were the days of Housing (Savage). Today, with the plenitude of Free Company plots and just about anyone being able to own a house, I present to you the watered down Housing (Extreme).

  1. As much as it's a pain to deal with the jank that is the housing interface, I'd still say the hardest part is getting a house at all. Maybe now is still a good time because the stigma of the lottery system's problems during the first wave of firmament housing is still fresh + the game is in a low energy period until 7.0 even when new story content drops. And at least from my experience on Brynhildr you can find a decent amount of small cottages up for sale as people either quit or take a leave of absence + forget to avoid the demolish penalty for not going in their homes for considerable months. But it's still hard to bet on the smaller number of mediums (my best odds have been 1/20 on a bid). And large mansions rarely go on sale because I'm reasonably sure the people who amass that kind of gil are very dedicated daily players in most cases. 50 million at the peak of what the static housing prices is a big leap from 20-17 million for mediums, and 3 million for small is reasonably achieveable just by being prudent during a casual fist-time run of the MSQ. I'm just glad that there are dull times of the game now where it's possible – I likely wouldn't have a small now if the game quickly went back into a full-force "buy our new expansion" timeframe were not in now. And it's one of the few gil sinks that exist in any meaningful way.

  3. As a console player the answer is slowly trial and erroring till you get the various glitches right. I just have to finally get floating right then I'll have hit the glitching threshold

  4. Never got into housing in all my seven years of playing. A friend gave me a house to and I ended up wasting it since apparently it's not just logging in that keeps your house you actually have to go inside it. 😂
