Not a bad video but you didn’t give enough information about FFXIV’s free trial which lets you play up to level 60 and includes the critically acclaimed expansion Heavensward.
Just bought the game with shadow bringer dlc and the new Endwalker dlc i mean been wanting to play it for a while guess this just gave me the extra push i suppose
Truth.
Me: Oh… what a nice pace. Such good story. I wonder how I’ll the defeat this boss though-
Friendly Rando: Oh, hi! Wanna join my part-
Me: aaaAaaaRrrGgg! Human interaction??? Whats wrong with u???!!!
FFXIV actually got me into MMOs, I'm not thinking of switching to another MMO anytime soon <3
Hey night sky you might want to listen to this I heard remake part 2 was delay cause of covid so it might come out in late 2023 early 2024
I'm new Final Fantasy, due to my hype for 16 last year, and I'm also not an MMO guy but FF14 might be my first FF game so I'm hyped to play it.
Anyways, I was thinking thhe other day what Yoshi P and CBU3 do something to make more people play FF14's story? What if the 16 team after they're done with 16 make an offline version of the Hydaelyn Zodiark story of FF14, basically A Realm Reborn to Endwalker. They could improve the graphics, make a new combat system, make the Scions party members and do what Dragon Quest 9 did and have some online elements for a mostly offline experience. I think it'd a cool way to get most FF fans to play 14. Just an idea
Why: it feels like your playing FF 1-10.
You know. The good ones.
I know a lot of the FFXIV conversation is around why WoW players should play FFXIV right now, but I really want more old FF fans like myself to get into the game as well, as I feel that's who the game was really made for. Thanks for this excellent video speaking to just that audience NSP!
I decided to try free trial 2 months ago. And i'm never being a MMO fan aswell. But damnn this game is great. I really wish FFXV deserve FFXIV treatment. However i have a high hopes for FFXVI since Yoshi P team is the one who work on it
After playing AruaRose for 12+ years i don't think so. I would hope 14 would not have the same people of 12+ years controlling the market preventing others from farming because they have kill on sight orders use bots and scripts to farm for them and control areas funnel down the whole server with 1 channel with a population of 1000+ players base not updating the game for 12 years except for pvp updates and no content at all. I mean they can't even edit shady jungle with all that space they have not even being used to make new farm areas….(take the hint matt!)
When 14 is re released as a single player game i will play it.
Soon as a I get a ps5, I shall try this game
I grew up with Final Fantasy games and they've been the foundation of my undying love for JRPGs as early as the NES days. FFVI has been my most favorite entry for a long, long time… Shadowbringers changed that. If i consider everything FFXIV has to offer and how much fun i still have playing it after almost 8 years it absolutely deserves my number 1 spot at this point. The story is absolutely incredible, the fact that it's been consistently this good for years with proper character development and motivations is no small feat, especially if you look at the state of storytelling in many other games… single-player or MMO alike.
FFXIV top 5 Final Fantasy 👍👌👏
I grew up with final fantasy since the first game the one spin off I've mentioned to folks many didn't realize was Final Fantasy Mystic Quest loved that game and the music was awesome.
I was thinking about this today never played this game but this is good stuff reckon I'm gonna download the Trial thanks Night Sky Prince I'll update you on my thoughts once I play it.
While I appreciate the effort here, I do think it's worth being up and up about a few facets of FFXVI that may turn away classic FF fans :
1. Unvoiced protag. As much as FFXVI tries to put you in the driver's seat of the story as an important character, you're still largely a mute with a few dialogue options, which a pretty big distinction from a Cloud or a Zidane, and they way their interactions interface with their respective stories.
That's a pretty big one for me as I really don't like silent protagonists in story-driven games.
2. No party control. Whereas most single player JRPGs sees you controlling a party of characters that regularly interact and fill the screen as you journey, your choice in FFXIV is between limited NPC goons through the Trust system, or other players, neither if which you get to control directly and neither if which your player character interacts in a way that interfaces with character stories.
This is another big one for me since one of my biggested sources of enjoyment with single player rpgs is controlling a group of adventurers and seeing their interactions and storylines weave and resolve.
3. The game's combat system, while undoubtedly great for its genre, has that very specific hotkey cycle feel to it whose mileage is extremely subjective. For me personally, that part is probably one of the biggest turn offs.
Ultimately, I respect FFXVI as a game and as an mmo, but the above 3 reasons are largely why I have no interest in it and dropped it after 20 hours or so.
It's just not in the genre of the type of jrpg I enjoy.
Now I'm waiting for Resonant Arc playing and review his thought on XIV, he is one of the single player FF guy that should be playing XIV.
I am still this guy who hates MMO but loves final fantasy. And I tried to play XIV once but only played for half an hour… I didn’t even wanted to watch this video just because I don’t want to get into to it… but all I can hear is u guys talking about XIV so I have to give it a go on the PS5 now…
I avoided MMO because I know my personality: Addictive. And back in the day I was a console player and the world of PC was just too over my head to bother with. So I was safe from falling into MMO (didn’t know FFXI was apparently on PS2 until years later). But then SE had to go and put FFXIV on PS3 and well… BRB dungeon popped, gotta finish my last few relic weapons o7
I tried a few times and I can't agree at all. I think the game is awful, personally.
It's very much an MMO game and doesn't have anything I found compelling as an FF fan. It doesn't feel very FF at all, it's butt ugly to both see and hear, and the story is very minimal. I don't think I ever even got out of the first few bits of the base game's story and yet I'd wasted like 30-40 hours on it already. The amount of time the game just wastes for no reason is truly batshit insane. Not to mention, the game forces bullshit multiplayer on people. Maybe if they had a single player length mode to experience the story or something, that'd be worth it, but I definitely would never recommend this game to anyone that isn't absolutely in love with MMOs.
I just don't get it, I guess. I can't begin to fathom how people even slightly enjoy this game, let alone how anyone can say it compares to even the weaker single player FF games.
I have started my adventure. My first MMO ever. Dammit TNSP! You sold me somehow!
ooh got here at 6,666 views. excellent.
I'd play ff14 if it was free
I cant get through such a massive game with such a shitty combat system, great story or not.
Game is way too long. Takes a massive amount of time to beat.
I thought this video might speak to me, since its title pretty much describes me. I adore Final Fantasy now, but I'm not into MMOs, or online or multiplayer games, at all. It just ruins the immersion factor for me.
I still don't trust it when Night Prince said that the FF XIV community is really that helpful. We all know how quickly toxic and unproductive online games can quickly get. They wouldn't explain some things even to other veterans. How much more for a completely new player who doesn't yet know how anything in the game works, and they're already having that person do a huge, high ranking task? And especially if you're someone who makes a lot of mistakes when learning something new.
You know, this is the first time in a very long while I returned to NSP's channel, and it's only because I was curious to see how his channel is doing. I used to watch him a lot in the several weeks leading up to VII Remake's launch in April 2020, but ever since I got my copy of the game, it's like I just stopped watching him altogether, as I could already experience the game for myself. NSP doesn't seem to cover VII Remake as much anymore either, but then again, VII Remake news has been rather scant as of recent.
I don't know if NSP's content has gotten worse per se, but it hasn't really gotten any better either…
Thanks, sounds cool.
I didnt think ARR was that bad i enjoyed my play through of it.
