  1. Ultima Online. A game where the players altered the game's ecology. Players slaughtered every living thing they came across, whether rabbit, wolf, or pig, they were killed on sight. The game itself use to have an ecosystem, but had to be removed since they couldn't keep up with the player base killing off everything. It was really remarkable, and early lessons learned that later game developers copied. Never expect or plan for the players to behave a certain way, they will always do something completely unexpected and unplanned for.

  2. people are tired of outdated game actiblizz devs not fixing it regulary but waiting 8 months to fix minor and major bugs and realized they doing small investments just to keep the game going and milk handfull of subs left of dieing cashcow without getting new game engine and updating graphics mechanics and making it better i mean they still paint gear on char models in 2k21 lol

  3. Before Shadowlands I had a guild, BLURRED REALITY on Dalaran, with over 200 active members. Now I have a guild of less than 30 active members, more than 80% of my guild SIMPLY QUIT PLAYING because of the LACK OF CONTENT, terrible loot and character powers that DONT WORK. The People at Activision DO NOT KNOW HOW THIS GAME WORKS, they DO NOT PLAY IT and it shows in the content they are producing.

  4. I am more of a Phantasy Star Online 2 kind of guy and even I have heard greater and bigger things from FFXIV compared to WoW. I recently got my friend hooked from playing FFXIV and Playing PSO2 and my point is that WoW is not the only cat in town and all it takes is knowing where to look.

  5. Holy wow… looks like i found the reason
why the servers in FFXIV exploded over the previous weeks pre-5.58 patch…
I prayed for it not being true.

To all refugess: pls don't destroy this game just cuz you're fed up with WoW and Blizzard.
SE's got nothing to do with their mistakes, and we FF players even less.
Be friendly, keep the community a good one.

(oof what am I even saying, nobody will take this to heart or even notice.)

  6. The WoW player based has always had large ups and down since its inception. You never really lose you account, and the only dlc you have to buy when you come back is the current one…any others you missed are there for you to play. It is the month subscription fee that they want more. This news is good for a timely You Tube video about the state of WoW, but means nothing in the long term. That game has been a money maker for 16 years, and I have played it off and on for that long.

  7. To clarify, Asmon didn't "leave" WoW. He's not quit it, he's just trying out FF and now he's just going to switch between patch cycles. The thing is, there have been so many WoW fans that follow him because they miss WoW and have been looking for a solid alternative for a while (in fact, a lot of his fans are ex-players, including me). So when you've got the most hesitant guy saying he likes FFXIV, the ex-WoWs followed.

  9. I remember Blizzard from Castle Wolfenstein 3D and add ons. The original Doom and add ons. Also original World of Warcraft and Warcraft II. I got stalled on Half Life II. I stopped playing games for a long while. My son bought me a new computer in March. I have been playing World of Warships, Pirates and now learning Civ VI.

  11. The issue is the story they are making is a crappy story, the writing staff for wow is just dumpster.
Also ff did not "sell out" there was an issue with their web store and they basically took it down for sale while they fixed the problem.

  12. Wow launched in an environment where it had to compete with FFXI, which came out only two years prior to the launch of WOW. FF14 had a decade had all of XI, plus the… dry run with 14.

Meanwhile, live WOW, based on the last time I started a new character (three months ago), has become obnoxiously diverse and massively watered down. It's especially and painfully obvious after playing nothing but Classic for months.

That all being said, I'm sticking with WOW Classic. At least for now.

  14. Kind of late to this, but after what I’ve been hearing about Activision and shit and hearing awful stories, been thinking of converting on over to Final Fantasy 14 just for the heck of it.

The community is way better, Square actually listens to the players, and it’s overall gotten a good solid reputation built up.

As a WoW player I’m severely disappointed on how everything was planned out through the years. I feel like barely any effort was put into the recent expansion, shadowlands. It breaks my heart to see a game of my childhood fall apart so fast. I loved WoW so much growing up and it pains me to see it die out. The community over there has been nothing but bullshit ever since BfA dropped.

Activision hasn’t been listening to the players ever since they took over. The amount of sheer disappointment a lot of others feel is so relatable. I can’t think of the last time where I genuinely enjoyed having a conversation with someone, or enjoying a quest.

I just hope they get their act together sooner than later, because this all feels so disheartening.

  15. Yoshi-P is also a big reason people love the game so much. He's completely relatable, kind and he won't even say anything bad about WoW. Even though they are competitors.

  16. Blizzard has been gradually shaving all of the fun off of WoW since about the time WotLK launched, it's well overdue.

WoW hasn't been a Blizzard work in years, it's been firmly an Activision show since 2008.
