Ahhh so excited for this
Thanks for Andor!
you can set the size of other people's summons. it's a text command.
Command "/petsize all small" will make summoner summons very tiny so you no longer get dragons or Titan's butt in your face at exactly the wrong time.
The amount of people that still just stand in the middle for the ultimate on Rofocale and take a full divebomb to the face is hilarious. It doesn't do much damage any more, but it is a proximity based line attack, you take like at most 5% of your health as damage if you move to the sides. If his bar gets really high, it would wipe you if you stood in the center with no mitigation.
Lol, I love your accents that you've done for these characters.
The Return to Ivalice raids are based on Final Fantasy XII, so all the characters and music are made off of that game. Rabanastre was one of the major cities in FFXII, as well.
I was never a fan of XII, but these raids had some really cool mechanics with lots of "spectacles", the story definitely dipped into the feeling I got in XII, though.
Most of the music you hear is from Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII which is supposed to take place in the same universe but several years apart. The victory fanfare for Rabanastre is from Tactics and with the rest of the music as well I think.
Enjoy the rest of the raid series. These are by far my most favorite right next to the Endwalker ones. 🙂
I remember how much I wanted to kick this little brat. He's so insufferable!
After the face pops up on the last boss it will tell you to do something (The voice of the god commands you to X), if it's blue, you do what it said, if it's red, do the opposite.
6:40 Could be. This bit takes place in 6.1, alongside stuff like the Skalla dungeon, Raubahn returning to Ala Mhigo for good, and such. So the deltascape stuff has already happened but sigmascape hasn't yet. Leaving Cid free to wander for a little bit.
8:40 Nope. At this point Alphy's resting after running Skalla with us in Ala Mhigo somewhere.
21:28 "How crazy is this gonna be, on a scale of 1 to 10?" A 12 or so.
24:40 Red chocobos drop meteors just like Behemoths do. Very deadly.
27:3 Welcome to the Rabanastre Water Park. A completely unnecessary vulgar amount of flexing.
34:40 You'll see either his angel face or his demon face flash before he gives you an order. That first one, for instance was the angel face telling you to keep moving and don't stop, so you were supposed to obey. If you saw the demon face flashing before that same instruction you could want to stop moving and attacking.
37:45 If you messed up his orders 3x in a row you'd be turned into a chicken for a long time as you randomly ran around the room. Most likely you'd run into the outer wall and get a nasty dot and/or get killed by other stuff while you helpless. You doing the commands properly for the most part meant there wasn't much going on.
38:41 Yes, good guess.
39:50 I didn't notice before, but they use the same model as the goblins do. Note the one hand on hip head tilted thinking animation.
"I thought I made it out of that" A sprouts famous last words.
To help deal with things like latency and general skill communication, if you are still in a circle when it fades or disappears, you will still be hit even if you are yards away. You need to get out of the circle before it goes away. In other words, the animations do not sync up with the hit detection.
Basically, if you do not want to take lots of dirt naps, especially as a bard, just move as soon as you have a symbol around you.
Aaah, the first two dungeons here are like ffx12 placed in ff14s settibgs. Brings back memories 😁
Ive completely forgotten the story of this raid so im also excited to watch this 😀 the fights are pretty cool for this one
I never paid much attention to the Ivalice story first time around, none of it meant anything to me. I'm now finally playing Final Fantasy Tactics (and have played FF12 in the meantime) and I'm really excited to see what it does with it.
For context, the story of the Zodiac Braves is essentially a retelling of Final Fantasy Tactics, recontextualised in the ancient past of the modern province of Dalmasca (which is itself heavily based on the setting of Final Fantasy XII). Tactics and XII are set in the same Ivalice Alliance subseries, though originally they are largely unrelated beyond some shared themes. XII is a prequel set thousands of years before Tactics, the XIV adaptation switches things around. Essentially all of the bosses you fight are originally from Tactics, but also feature (as summons) in XII.
Im watching this playthrough because i always skip through these cutscenes. I cant help it. By the time i get to the raids i end up being bored of all the reading lol ADHD brain
I thought I'd be able to listen to it at work but it's too distracting haha. I'll be back!
