  1. As someone who started in Limsa, Alisaie making a fuss about working with gasp! pirates!, was very funny to me. Like, "I'm literally standing right here, you know?"

Aaah, Hancock. Owner of the nº1 most punchable face in all of Hydaelin and beyond. The title previously belonged to Nabriales but that one's not a concern anymore!

  2. I like that the very first thing you were told by the Quest captions is that Alphinaud has no interest in sightseeing, then you go on to play out several quests where you are shown the sights by a newly-introduced character that Alphinaud distrusts completely and dislikes intensely.

  3. I know the DTC has been very careful with giving Dermin plenty of space for his playthrough to not be crowded or interrupted, but I was kinda hoping when he went out into the hot pools for a couple dozen to all be there, just relaxing in the hot water. It would be an appropriate place for a background crowd without interfering with any quest NPCs

  4. I like how Lolorito knew of your trip to the Far East enough to welcome you… despite never talking about it anywhere near Ul'dah and leaving almost immediately upon deciding their course of action.

There are three possibilities he could have known, each showing you just how many facets of Eorzea he has his grubby hands on:

    1) most likely he has eyes and ears amongst the merchants and pirates of Limsa. Tataru had to find passage and they could have stumbled upon the information… Or been given it by our Pirate Captain himself.

    2) Almost equally likely is the has eyes and ears in the Eorzean Alliance military. I imagine the Scions leaving the front to incite a rebellion in Doma I was info that was on a need-to-know basis. I'd wager not even each of the Eorzean leaders knew that was what they were doing. So, again, eyes and ears pretty high up the ladder.

    3) Probably the most disturbing: he has a mole in the scions themselves. Probably a leftover from the Crystal Braves, one that pledged to the scions after their disbanding.

  5. One time, while waiting for some particularly long dungeon wait times, I decided to just keep doing the tower climb for fun.

I have now made that jump at least half a dozen times and I am pretty proud of myself.

  6. I forgot how much of a minefield Kugane is politically. With their particular politics, the Scions basically have shown the Garleans their hand just by being here.

With just the slightest bit of asking around, the Garleans will know the Scions, with the Eikon Slayer in tow, have made the long trek to the Far East and are looking for two known Doman freedom fighters. It's not hard to figure out why they are there.

  7. I can feel Tataru's excitement for gossip and schemes building, she has this in the bag!

Hancock is just annoying enough that I suspect he's legit. The way he and the twins interact and clash are great fun though.

  8. I love Hancock – he is one of the best characters introduced in Stormblood IMHO, because not only does he not conceal his motivations, he serves as a reminder that the Scions are very far from home, and that old rivalries and enmities may pale in comparison to the threats and challenges ahead.

  9. – we interrupt 3 expansions worth of Ala Mihgo's buildup to bring you: Japan!
    – that jumping Puzle is the only part I've seen on stream, Assasin's Creed this ain't
    – yep, Hancock servant of Lord Traitoro Lororito seems like a very trustworthy person, almost as trustworthy as Not-a-Casnibal Johnson
    – ah yes, nobody like Y'shtola the All-Seeing to give a fair review of Alphy's visual artistic medium

  10. I really liked the exchange of "I can give you information about these two people, but only if you agree that I give your information if anyone asks". There's something very TTRPG about it.

  11. 2:02 No, Tataru, digging up scary amount of very specific info is your specialty, and it's terrifying.
3:37 I'm gonna be grinning like an idiot every time they pan around. I love so much of this.
5:40 They really did just make Doma FF14's Japan, didn't they? Right down to indirectness. Oh boy, this'll be a trip.
9:31 My memory fails me… "Stealer of Pants"?!
14:58 I love how well they've managed to "MMO scale" Edo (I thiiiink? I'm an amateur architecture nerd, not an expert) architecture. MMOs have this habit of making this waaay too big, but so far even multistory stuff still looks right, specifically some of the stuff that's been in the background and only has the one roof instead of a "roof" per floor.
15:24 Alisaie, we have very different opinions on architecture.
19:20 Well… at least they sound better than historical samurai in civilian settings…
19:51 Wow, he really wanted to make that joke, huh?
    26:57 How… Ul'Dahn of them.
38:57 Is "Hannish" a nod of sorts to "Hanseatic"? It didn't hit me until he said "Radz-at-Han", which tripped bells in my head because of the __ at/upon/on/from __ format.
