Final Fantasy XIV Online – World of Weebcraft

With the ongoing exodus of World of Warcraft players to Final Fantasy XIV I thought I’d take a look at how the weebs are doing it. It turns out the weebs are doing it pretty well.

  2. It's only sexualized if you see it as sexualized. I have never once thought of a lalafell as sexualized, but if you want to think of a potato as sexy… have fun I guess?

  3. Jingles, for all the times you mention "This is what World Of Warcraft does" you have to remember, which game has all the WoW players jumping over to it? I would say FFXIV is doing something (or many things) right that WoW is getting wrong.

  4. Yeah Jingles, compare a 7 year old questline with the newest content in WoW. You know that they are fully voiceacted later on, don't you? But much like WoW Classic, they didn't go back and fixed it all. Except they did. The main questline starts to get voiceacted somewhere at level 15 or so. And it becomes more and more. Because they DID go back and fix it.

Now where is that fully voiced Quest where young Anduin runs with you through Elwynn Forest again, to slay Hogger?

  5. Jingles this is not WOW, the story in this game actually makes sense and is extremely engaging. So giving short bits of dialog to read through is really nice instead of the clumps of garbage that WOW gives that everyone just skips and never reads.

  6. Just like how Japanese manga artists find western comic book characters ugly, JRPGs make sure their characters would look pretty and anything that is ugly are sure to be bad guys. Except for some fabulous-looking villains which turns out to be god level.

  7. I would like to see a follow up where jingles gets into the patch content, where the dev team weren’t simultaneously trying to keep an old dead mmo alive while secretly working on it’s not quite sequel

  8. Personally, I got sick of WoW towards the end of the Bouncing Panda expansion. It just got so repetitive, same thing with different skins.

Once I got a machine that could run Skyrim, Mechwarrior Online, et al, I ditched WoW and turned over my account to my daughter.

    Haven't looked back since.

  9. So here we are 40+ years later and the technology is all that's improved from the original D&D game. Three saddle stitched booklets and a bag of weird dice, bring your own pen & paper.

  10. Tbh i don't even think the Soundtrack it's a "personal preference thing", it's just facts that Final Fantasy does better by miles, not only there's a huge diversity of genres where literally everybody it's going to find Countless OSTs that fits their personal tastes, but how the Soundtrack it's applied to the game for each kind of situations as well, WoW literally sucks at that point, most of time it's envoirment sounds and most of OSTs are out of place and doesn't fit with what's happening on your screen. For Final Fantasy each Soundtrack it's created for each particular moment and have context for everything, it's just insane.

People can say and argue that WoW does better than Final Fantasy in many things, but some points it's not, points like Store/Lore, OST and Craft/Gathering deep it's indisputably better in FFXIV, just like other points like PVP it's indisputably better in WoW, there's no contest here.

  11. Get further into the game, the music that isn't the starting areas gets better, and changes depending on what expansion you are in such as combat, boss fights, and hunt fights. It also has the Guiness world record for the most music in a video game. Stick at it you'll get your music fix later on, especially in Trials.

I mean this with love, but I have finally found a second game you play that I want to watch… I love World of Warships, but I play World of Warships and you are great but I do not really like a lot of the other games you play, no offense to you, but I am definitely interested in all things Final Fantasy, lolol My mother played WOW since it was in it's Beta and I hate it, just saying lol

  13. I never liked how the male characters looked in ffxiv, I went with a human female character on the Crystal Goblin Server. I have all the classes unlocked and my favorite class so far is the Samurai. The Samurai class are heavy melee damage dealers, not much utility, but they are just devastating with the sword. I am currently, level 60 atm. My girlfriend also plays now too, I gave her a friend code and whenever we play together we get an experience bonus. She picked Arcanist as well, but later switched to the archer and is now learning to become the class Bard (at level 30, an archer becomes the bard). I leveled up my arcanist so I can turn her into a Scholar (Healer with a pet that heals too) class so my gf can get into dungeons much faster.
