lol. you'll be back 😉
You can literally skip all (almost) custcenes, teleport from place to place and be done with the main storyline pretty quick if you arent interested in it. Also keep in mind you lvl up other jobs by pretty much just killing stuff and not talking to NPCs.
I think you could try doing other things so the levelling experience isnt that tiring for you. Like Golden saucer, hunt log etc. Try gathering jobs.
Having watch a bit of it on stream, you need to hard skip cutscenes / click through stuff more. Its less annoying at that point.
While 30 might make some class more interesting the bad news is ~ 30-45ish is a particularly snoozy part of the MSQ. As an aside the "green dps" / lack of consistent healing is miserable.
so you quit one mmo to start another one?
i tried ff xiv trial did the msq up to level 50, i had pretty much the same impression of the game that you had "christine" (that's your name according to yt cc lol). It never got better it was a lot of walking around doing nothing with barely any meaningful combat. All the dungeons were pretty fun tho
Yeah, in the beginning of this game, you do have to go through with what you discussed, and believe me, ARR is quite worse. The real challenge is persevering until you reach the first expansion, Heavensward. That's where the experience really starts and you really get to play. Once you get there, you might like the game a lot better.
I'm about to start the game myself, but I've already watched a lot of streamers go through ARR, so I know what to expect. ARR was a full-on reboot, so I can see why they didn't have the budget to do more voice acting for it. As someone who played a story-heavy MMO with SWTOR, I expect I'll end up liking the story a lot, even though I know things really pick up in Heavensward. I also know they switched to a completely new voice acting company with Heavensward, so I'm going to assume the voice acting gets better. But yeah, from what I can tell, I should stick to the MSQ and Job quests and ignore the majority of side quests. I also know the professions are their own Jobs and have their own quest lines, so that sounds cool.
I was wondering why even though I've wanted to play it and like it I have had trouble staying interested and this really sums it up very well lol…also the fact that everyone seems to tell you to watch the story!!! but zooming it through it might be a better idea LOL
