Yeah… the FCG retirement home, Good times…
Yoo, if you're ever interested in meme songs I'd like to recommend the goons
Like "grenade in the gravy" or "yoho"
Ff14 is a slow burn. In the first few hours, a lot of players won't get the hype initially. But the more you stick with it, the more the game hits and builds on ARR. You will laugh, facepalm scream and cry… A LOT!
Shadowbringers in particular is an absolute rollercoaster of emotions and probably the best the game had to offer.
I don't play anymore but my friend had gotten me into A Realm Reborn. At the time I had no idea of how bad before until they told me cause it looked good/was so fun. I think they had played like an ending cutscene before they shut the servers down. Now it's one of the best MMOs of all time.
Yoshi-P and the rest of the team probably invoked the power of actual Primals to go from 1.0 to what the game is today lol
Start was rough, but it was worth it for what we have now.
You need to watch the FF14 Endwalker launch in a Nutshel😁
You need to watch the documentary series from NoClip about the story of how 1.0 came to be and how we got to 2.0 from that.
EDIT: Yoshi-P is actually an old school gamer who cut his chops on Ultima Online. In one of the official Live Letters, he was playing the new Zelda game just before the start and delayed Dawntrail by a week because of the Elden Ring DLC. This guy literally suggests that Square Enix do something and they will likely do it, up to and including stopping sales of the game so they can get th servers upgraded and add more… which they did in Endwalker.
Speakers of The Relm has a blow by blow documentary on 14, it's called "Thebdall and Rise od FF14" If your interested, kind of a long sit though
My favorite game has made me cry and cheer more than any other game
I VERY much recommend the Noclip Documentary about the Rise and Fall of Final Fantasy 14, its absolutely mind blowing to see
Played FF14 seriously since 1.12. Version 1.17 was decent. Couldn't leave FF11 right away for a broken game.
Ff14 is my favorite game of all time, Yoshi-P worked MIRACLES!!!
1:36 yes this is that story pretty much. They nuked the world in story, if you were on the server you got the trailer for 2.0 when it shut down for the last time, the first bit where Bahamut messes things up (Answers) 2.0 starts after that, the bad guys won sort of. The last moments on the server was pretty wild, they dropped all kinds of modded enemies on people around the city and the players banded together to beat things they should not have been able to, trying to defend the cities. They even did goofy things like the goobue wall, where they all rode a mount and formed a wall, that got around to the devs and they made it canon, there is legit a quest that talks of the great goobue wall in game now. Yoshi P. did a gamble and it paid off well, he burned the whole world and turned it into a new story.
Fun fact too, all this led to him getting to lead 16 as well, and it also runs on the same engine as 14 currently does, Yoshi P. has brought so much back to the franchise. He is also not afraid to hit you in the feels… hard and often.
And after all of that FFXIV is one of the best mmos right now
How many years did it take them to fix cyberpunk 2077? That was a single player game!
There's three things I think would be good to watch in relation: NoClip's documentaries, Speaker's Network's series on it, and Jessie Cox's three videos about the world of the game.
FF14 stream when? 😊
Every FFXIV player quits in ARR or lives to see themselves become a living advertisement
You really need to watch the noclip documentation for FF14 ^^
Its about 3 hours long i think but its a nice watch 🙂
It's long, but the full NoClip documentary about 1.0 is a really good watch.
I played the 1st one, 1st day player. the mobs numbers are less than the players and super laggy.
The people are stealing each other monster and crafting is shit.
How are we going to fix this mess? Mr Squenix: "I summon Yoshida the Executive Producer!"
To say that Yoshida saved not just FF14 but the whole FF franchise is no exaggeration.
The game can be time consuming, but I will barely feel it.
The importance is to play at it pace and enjoy the story. And absolutely don't rush it
