  8. I've been playing FFXIV since ARR was in beta. It makes sense that it's booming right now. It has almost a decade of content to go through, it has a great community, it has the single best story the Final Fantasy franchise has ever had, etc. I could keep going. The lack of new content isn't an issue when you're new because all the content is new content. There's more than enough to keep a noob busy until Endwalker launches.

  13. I don't know how to feel…😭😂 On one hand I feel so happy and excited for Ff 14. And on one hand I feel bad for Yoshi P and his team having to deal with all these issues.😂 I feel like I will have to take my time before reaching Endwalker so that by then things would cool off lol.   16. With the blows to Blizzard Entertainment and the lack of content from Sega, players of WoW and PSO2 are looking for something mmorpg related to play, including me. I'm on trial for FF14 while also looking into Elyon as a potential game to play. But most people I know have played FF14 before, and the coming expansion makes it a good time to start learning about the world. So here I am as a new FF14 player. Cheers!

  19. The moment last night I read that the Ather Data center was congested and can no longer allow people in, I immediately thought of Asmongold lol. Obviously it’s not his fault, he’s just really popular which caused people to go to where he is as well.

  26. Man, i dont like MMOs, but i was thinking of trying FF14 again after seeing so much of this and last year. (Havent tried is since that guy online pretended to be a girl and tried to get me to buy him Doom 2016. Yeah, invite me to join your guild on ff14 to buy you doom, a-hole). But if i tried playing ff14 again, i would feel like such a poser. Its not worth it then. Maybe if i played since launch and was addicted to it, i would be fine with it…

  29. My main is on Aether, and I'm feeling that login issue when I login after work sometimes. But loving the growth of ffxiv.

    Yes. I've heard of the critically acclaimed mmorpg known as ffxiv. Been playing since 1.0.

I think a lot of the conversation around FFXIV right now is centered on Twitch/Blizzard's own failings, but the preorders for Endwalker was 50% more than Shadowbringer's preorders before any of that stuff happened. Shadowbringers did so much work in bringing the game's name where it belongs, not just with MMO fans but in Final Fantasy fans too. I mean, a lot of FF/JRPG content creators never touched the game and ignored it entirely. Its been a long time coming but I'm happy the wider world is finally seeing what they've been missing out on for so long.
