Next exp seens to be drinking heavily from FFIV, or maybe its just a continuation of endwalker since that one also took a lot from 4….. at any rate the OST as usual is a masterpiece, one of the things that takes this game to the next level far above any competition.
The art team of this game are so good at what they do. The 13th is really beautiful, despite being clearly corrupted and having a wildly different appearance from the 1st and source. Can't wait to see what the other shards look like, assuming we get to visit each.
It starts with a minor key piano cover of the party member recruitment fanfare from FFIV! And if I recall the MSQ correctly, this plays for the first time right when you get Zero to agree to help you. It was hard to find a clip of that fanfare, but here's one I think. https://www.youtube.com/clip/UgkxAsloRdfAOOgMVuH7_wtTE1p2aRLOOS3I
Btw when I looked at the statue ingame I noticed that it was wearing artifact tank gear that the WoL wears in the trailer, I was wearing the same gear ingame and compared it. If also speak to the little gremlin next to the statue it mentions it's waiting for the saviour/hero to appear based on the statue.
Totally hoping Zero joins the Scions after we kick Golbez's ass and (maybe) restore balance to the 13th. Would be neat to have a restoration campaign for Zero's domain sometime in the future, too.
I wonder if the overworld theme from FFIV will be remake in other variations for FFXIV. I hope so, and I hope Soken and co will give us more masterpieces ^^
Anna. Shielded Edward from the Red Wings. Edward + Yang + Rydia. Sundered by Leviathan. Palom and Porom. Petrified themselves willingly to protect Cecil's crew. Tellah. Cast Meteor at the cost of his life. Cid. Rigged explosives on himself to permit Cecil's escape. Yang again. Caused a self-destruct, but was trapped in so doing.
A reminder of the sacrifices made for the chance of a brighter future, and the sorrow bringing us to question if that "brighter future" is even possible.
It's a piano arrange of "Cry in Sorrow" from FFIV, which is a variation of the main theme
The song is call *Cry in Sorrow, Final Fantasy IV*. Finally i find it.

What chest piece are you wearing in this? Looks really nice
This sounds like it would have fit right in on the FFIV Piano Collections album. I dig it.
One of the best song of endwalker… ❤️. The 13th shard is beautiful.

I'm convinced that the Statue there is Cecil from IV. And, in general, the area just feels like Baron to me.
I love this, the anti-First, playing the song that used to play whenever your party was torn apart

Anyone know if this is a roll purchasable in game at all?

Too bad we can't go back there for now, I liker the place.
You should have talked to the Voidsent in the area. They have such beautifully tragic stories to tell.
Only Ishikawa-sensei could make us feel sorrow and remorse for monsters.
