We were invited to test out the highly anticipated fourth expansion of Final Fantasy XIV, and even though we only had a single day to dig through it, we made the most of it. We tested out the various old and new jobs, seeing what changed and what we liked about them. On top of that, we went through the first dungeon and played around in Thavnair and Garlemald.

Question since I don't see an answer for this anywhere: I saw in the video that the Reaper hat is displayed with the ears through the hat itself (thank you for playing Viera on this omg) was that the only job that had a helm option that was currently finished for Viera?
Nice, warrior even unga-bunga'er. I love it, legitimately!
What's Reaper primary stat, DEX or STR?
Everyone keeps saying "reaper is really simple/intuitive" but the way everyone describes it makes it sound really complicated lol. "It's really simple. Do your 1, 2, 3 combo to get gauge to spend on skills to get stacks to spend on skills that combo into each other that have positionals that give gauge to unlock shroud to use two skills to unlock a Lemure skill until you get one stack left to use to cast Comunio. Simple!"
I'm sure it's fine to play and flows really well, but holy hell, either it's obviously really not intuitive to describe.
"It's not as complicated as we originally thought"
Meanwhile it is likely the most complicated Melee job yet with a debuff upkeep, three different job bars, a stack mechanic that you need to spend right away AND builds one bar by spending the other, ally buffs that affect job bars, personal shield that also is another team utility tool, both a forward/backward jump/dive mixed with portals mechanic, an alternate form that works off of a timer and seperate resource, and "reload" cast times on ranged attacks.
All the other belee jobs are being dumbed down with timers being removed outright. and saying "Not a fan of the multitude of different guages that reaper has." is literally saying that it's complicated lol. Chances are they are going to rework and ultimately dumb down this class in the future so I'm going to enjoy it's complexity while it lasts.
