Okay, that match cut at 31:22 was seamless!
My favorite example for the strange English language is "Pacific Ocean". it got three C's and they all sound different

Medieval Bureaucracy Simulator 2014 is my favorite MMO
We in snow!
I had a dream in which I was talking to someone who said they were watching a playthrough of this game, and I excitedly said, "Oh, are you watching Durmin?!" So apparently even my dreaming mind is extolling the virtues of our hero.
is durmin still a marauder or is he full on warrior now?
Thank you for pronounced Roegadyn correctly holy MOLEY it drives me nuts when people pronounce it ROW-guh-DEEN
The "wi-fi symbol" is supposed to be a broken target, or a target with a section removed, but for the longest time I thought it looked like a jellybean
A big part of the reason why English is loaded with so many weird vowel variations is because of the French influence. Essentially, if you ever see an English word that has a Latin root, but the spelling or pronunciation makes no sense, the explanation is probably "because French."
Also, your delivery on that opening line was just the best, Dan.
How do I learn to travel by match cut?
So I started my own playthrough of FF14. Partially thanks to your channel, but like all my friends are into it now too. But taking a cue from you, I decided to try to read all of the dialogue that wasn't voiced out loud. I think It's really given me a greater appreciation for the writing and the sheer volume of words that are in this dang game. If anything it's made me pay attention to pages and pages of dialogue I didn't even look at my 1st time through ARR.
Love that teleporting trick, need to teach the matchstick cut to my miqo'te I think. xD
I'm glad I'm not the only one who, upon entering Coerthas, immediately thought of Skyrim. I'd been a big player of Skyrim at the time (1,500+ hrs between Xbox and PC), and hadn't been playing FFXIV long, so it was an understandable connection to make.
FFXIV's my first, and only, MMO, and though I'd been enjoying it well enough at the time, that little bit of something familiar really helped me settle in
This entire playthrough has just been oozing enthusiasm, I hope you carry on the adventure for many moons to come!
One of the most fun things in learning a new language is going "This is bullshit. This language makes no sense." only for your teacher to point out half a dozen instances of this exact thing happening in your native language. You just never thought about it because that's how you learned it when you were literally 3 years old.
Speaking of pronunciation, while I'm not certain about this I believe its correct given the context, the word "chirurgeon" I often hear said as you did "Ki-ROO-gen." If you say the CH less like a hard K and more like you would in Checkers "Chur-er-gen" it sounds close to the word "Surgeon." Considering that it's usually used for healers, I think it's the games old timey word for doctor/surgeon.
Also, that transition cut on the snap was brilliant.
Not sure if anybody has mentioned this (and I'm no expert, just someone who used to study French) but since there is an "e" after the "t" in Haillenarte, you would actually pronounce the "t"
38:12
ga, go, gu : Hard G
gi, ge : Soft G
gui, gue : Hard G (U is silent, it's only here to signify the G is hard)
is wyvern pronounced as Wye-vern or Wee-vern or are both the pronunciations valid? Wondering this cause I heard a lot the former, but the latter was my first time hearing it.
Coerthas is a bit of a sticking point for me. The intrigue surrounding the heretics is engaging but snow areas just look bland in most games.
I LOVE THE MATCH CUT THAT WAS SO CUTE AND AWESOME AT THE SAME TIME.
Zombies can't catch you if you're on fire
