Yeah thats why I stopped playing ff14 didn't want to do something where a group of toxic players just mass flag me to cause me to be banned.

At this point in FF14, people are more thin skinned than usual. I have playing without a UI too and the fights look amazing. Yet these people get upset at me for playing without UI saying I'm griefing the group, despite still doing mechanics/top performing.
I been a squaresoft fan since snes and ff14 was something I wasn’t interested in since im not a mmo fan. But I gave it a try during 2.0 since someone told me its a legit single player ff game with mmo elements. Now it’s been like 8-9 yrs and I’m still here. My secret is that I ignore the community for the most part and only partake with them when I have to (static, fc stuff etc). I play games for myself and to escape social-ness. Not to pay $15 a month for stress or deal with ppl I wouldn’t even be caught hangin out with irl. Ppl take online waaaay too seriously
Sadly, these kind of takes are pretty common in FF XIV. Reason why I stopped bothering pointing out the flaws, especially in Endwalker. Now probably not the majority but just the loudest.
I'm taking a break from the game, the EW expansion has been poor, bad job balancing, dull raids and rewards but the community itself has become insufferable, blinded by dev loyalty, hype and faux positivity!

Normal person + anonymity + audience = Total fuckwad.
I didn't agree with all your criticism on FFXIV but I don't think you're a bad person either, you have you own reasons for quitting the game and they are all perfectly valid and I respect it. I still enjoy hearing your opinions on topics not only 14 related but on other games in the MMO genre. Also thank you again for taking the time out of your day to help me get my feet into content creation, I'll always remember that!

I like FFXIV for the exact reasons Brian doesn't:-). I like that it respects time (vs investment). I like that it doesn't have player driven economy. I like that the jobs and fights are relatively easy and predictable. I really like that the story is easy to follow and is well presented to you (as opposed to having to find it yourself).
There are plenty of "more traditional" MMO on the market, so I am very glad that FFXIV is different from them.
This toxin comment I been seeing mostly targeting creator content and poppular player. This is what happen when most people playing the game seriously but all the best brian, hope you have a great time and will come back to do ff14 content, even if it's a short one.

Let me say kudos to for doing what you do I am a gamer dad of 3 let alone 6 and a streamer. You keep doing you. My first game I ever played was FF7. And I've been a ff person for as long as I can remember. I've played FFXIV for 3 years and have stopped for now as well cause idk burn out or yeah maybe it has ended. But I've always heard of you in the community I've watched a lot of amondgold since he switched to FFXIV. But you don't deserve the hate you get I don't know where it comes from. And secondly FFXIV people don't like to hear that people could ever leave the game even though it is one of if not my favorite game. It's okay to play other games and like other things. I think crisis reunion is about to come out super excited for. But uhh yeah don't get discouraged maybe if you fall into something I'm playing you'll be my main streamer one day. Maybe ashes of creation or something 😂

Oh and having "guidelines" on your channel is a massive censorship red flag. Reeks of being thin skinned and can't take the criticism.
So, i did a fair bit of research into this situation before i picked a "side" to be on. What i found was that in your videos there were basically 0 negitive comments about it, but on zeplas video and asmongolds video i saw a LOT of comments about it.
Most people accused you of leing about your real reasons for leaving and claiming its for your family and comedy career meanwhile you move to nolife another Mmo. And; you make videos about WHY that mmo is better than 14 and still ALLWAYS talk about FF for those "Clicks"
I had also read you were constantly unfairly criticizing XIV so again ilooked into this and i WAS able to find videos that proved all of these things.
I would end this video with "we just want to help and offer fair criticism" but tbh you KNOW that. And videos like these come off VERYYY DISENGENOUS like you are BLATANTLY misleading your audience. Im sure you will dismiss me as a "troll or an idiot" but if in life nobody holds you accountable for your actions then this is the level of delusional and manipulative you become. And this video just feels like the final nail in the coffin tbh as making "look how mean ppl are to me whilec silmoltanously saying how little it bothers you comes off abit like ego stroking. There was some legit critique in 1 maybe 2 of those comments. However not exactly sure there was anything "new" brought to this video that you haven't said before. This just seems like you got caught by the trolls again. (no you did not trap the trolls) Even if you did it is nothing they dislike. One second you are thick skinned another you are frustrated they really do not go hand in hand, but you mention it a few times. You can find toxicity in pretty much any comment section none of these videos are really proving much on the community or the FFXIV defense force. I read the majority of the comments being perfectly respectable. I no longer see what you are shooting for here besides being on repeat. Just being hyper focused on some negatives.
I think the main thing about your comedy career was you said on the road. That can be taken in the context of long road trips for multiple days or longer. Not just on the road as you drove to some place 1 or so hours away. But kids will have school or don't want to go get sick w.e. That is why I believe most people found that to be contradicting. If you are doing it locally sure, hour or so drive here and there believable.

My beliefs is family first and providing for the family is before gaming and socialization. Gaming is fun, but if playing is not fun, stop playing.
Finally, social media can do harm to kids and adults. I personally left Facebook, and Twitter after I saw it becoming divisive.
FF14 is and was great. But also so is New Horizon, Wrath classic and Dragonflight is awesome. Thank you for the video.
