Hello warriors of light! today I’m finally revealing my Unreal Engine Project for Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 called the 7th Umbral Era Project! It’s in early development but once I have all the zones put together I’ll be making custom content in the 1.0 world!
As of right now it’s being developed in Unreal 4 because Unreal 5 get pretty sluggish on my pc, but I will be saving up for a new PC and will then upgrade it to Unreal 5.

Heya! I love the effort you have been putting into preserving the original FFXIV. Is this Unreal Project something that you are planning on putting up for download in the future? If so, I would recommend looking into a way to use an existing install of FFXIV 1.23b and ARR to convert and use assets from that. I'm not sure how long the project would stay up otherwise. Keep up the good work! 🙂
This is awesome!! I already loving the project, and it was very cool that you even made cutscenes and story for your character too. I also really like this "bloom-ish" visual aesthetic, i think it is very similar to the original 1.0 vibe. Great job, man ^^
Damn, that's incredible! Speaking of questions, I have a few ones to ask:
Do you have plans for the combat system? More like 1.0 or 2.0?
Story wise and world space wise, do you intend to rebuild 1.0 or build using it as a reference?

If I was doing this I would never use the Black Shoud from 1.0 in fact I try to keep the Black Shoud 2.0 look. Sorry but No one in their right mind would do the Black Shoud 1.0 point to point I mean yes the placements should be from 1.0 I mean buildings/ Landmarks should be place from 1.0 but not the Loops that the Zone had. Other words do a Black Shoud 1.5. I have no issue with the other Zones but that is why FF14 1.0 should be remade but Like I said as is for Black Shoud would be a nope.
