  1. Well, if I had to guess, I'd guess Singer. We see Yoshi P wear 3 shirts with a bunch of band logos on it: Neighborhood, Filth and the Fury, "NBHD" and Children of Bodom. What looks like a scythe? A microphone stand.

  2. I only saw the “no comment” shirt originally and I started thinking -no comment, quiet, silence, former game jobs…mime? But then thought that mine would be nearly impossible to implement

  3. The Arabic is almost "تاظطظ"
Which doesn't have a meaning, my prediction is it's just a decorative thing
Since some letters inverted and upside down

  5. 1. Neighbourhood is a brand in Japan for streetwear clothings. They are considered to be a "cult" Japanese brand label.
    2. Julien "Temple" wrote about Filth & The Fury.
    3. Sex pistols wrote the hit song "God Save the Queen". "Save the Queen" is a reference to weapons in previous FF series mainly used by "knights". It has taken mostly a 1-H sword form, but it also came as a whip and a greatsword. It is also one of the skills used in Bozja.
    4. "I'll be here if you need me quote" represents "loyalty".

We also know that the new melee DPS job will be using maiming (DRG) gear, which is more tankier than the other melee dps jobs.

With these factors in mind, I think it references to a certain knight of a cult, similar to the likes of the Bozjan knights, who are loyal to the queen. If we take this as foreshadowing, combining Knights with the name "Temple" as well, I think the new melee job is Temple Knight, aka, Templar, maybe linking to some cult lunarians from the moon or something.

If we want to combine with the 2nd shirt of child of bosom, the band's last album is called "hexed", which could refer to the word hex = magic. This could indicate that the new melee DPS job can also cast magic, possibly more of a Rune Knight/Mystic Knight more than a Templar, but there were Templars in other FF series which used magic as well I think?

Maybe, idk, im just throwing out guesses here like everyone else.

  6. Things to keep in mind:
Zenos is undead, or returned from having been dead. And the whole needing a new weapon lends towards a new style for him.
Gaia is a Ascian yes, but wield time magic. Gaia also showed up wearing a maiming set. Hammer wielding Time Mage? Fits the Melee Magic hybrid to counter balance RDM's Caster with a touch of melee.
Neighbourhood and Children of Bodom are both /ROCK/ bands by japanese standards. Yoshi is obviously all about the rocker aethetic. You know who else likes rocks? Geologists. hint They could pull a fast one, and restyle a Geomancer as a Melee using clubs or hammers, and causing damage with jagged stones or blunt force trauma.
The idea of a "Necromancer" in the west is about the undead yes, but in many other parts of the world Necromancer is synonymous with things like Mediums, Spirit Channelers and the like. We could get a unique take on Necromancer as a sort of spirit warrior from Thavnair. Whose to say Zenos really has anything to do with the new class.

So yeah, the symmetry of Alphinaud as our longest friend relatively speaking, and Zenos, our longest personal enemy would be there and make sense for them to both display the new jobs and see them clash. But that too seems a bit too, easy to spot.

In the end who knows. Personally, I'll be happy with a Warhammer or a Scyth either way. But I'd prefer a dark aesthetic, or an astral one.

  7. If I can give my opinion. FFXIV has tossed in Nier Automata so maybe this is a job that's a nod to other square games like Star Ocean? The character Aramut who was a laser scythe wielding Eldarian? Just a guess but I'm a huge Square Enix fan.

  8. If Alfie Is no longer going to be the Summoner representative, I really hope that means that we are finally going to get access to his super cool Carbuncles.

  9. before you mentioned how nobody uses the Maiming set besides dragoon and that interview in japan I was going to hope for a Melee Magical DPS someone who breaks the mold somewhat even more than Red Mage. I was hoping for a Spellblade/ Rune Fencer/Mystic Knight as they are melee units that have magic so It would be somewhat interesting if it were. Unfortunately, I don't think that would work that well if it has to wear Maiming armor.

  10. It’s most definitely got to be a scythe or reaper type job. The combination of the grim reaper t shirt and the children of bodom shirt could be indicative enough. COB actually have a song called Taste Of My Scythe. Off of their album titled Follow The Reaper. As to what the job could actually do that would differ from the dark magic principles of DRK Im not sure.

  11. I think people are focusing way too much on "what uses a scythe" and not enough on "what will they make use a scythe."

Yeah, historically it's DRK, but they don't care about that. They can easily give it to someone else. I'm saying it's either Beastmaster or Geomancer. Yes, the job will be melee, but, again, that doesn't mean it can't also be a mage.
I think the Arabic on the shirt hints at deserts. Which means either it's a nod at Ranjit (we fought him in a desert-esque area) which would further hint at Beastmaster, or the sand being Geomancer.
I don't think it's going to be something completely original. It will be an iconic class, but with an original FFXIV concept.

Which, by the way, is what Yoshi said years ago about Sage. He specifically told us he wanted to make Sage, but that "it wouldn't be the same as before. It would be a unique concept."

The same is going to go for the other class, for sure.

  12. Allisae is clearly going to get a job change.(Based on the scene preceding Graha's return) My guess is she will be whatever the new class is but it will happen during the expansion story.

  13. Is Judge out of the question?. Since the reaper is sort of a judge. he judges souls. And julian temple could also be a hint to it being a judge class i guess. This would also make a lot of sense IMO. And the weapon on the chair to me at least looks like a 2 handed hammer. It is also a unique class that we don't have anything like in the game atm. I am leaning towards it being a night of sorts or a judge class.

  14. Berserker, Reaper, Executioner, or Necromancer/ Alternatives would be Ranjit's job, which the DRG relic was named after them(so makes a little sense despite Ranjit's actual aesthetic)
As for the Reaper end of it, it could very well be the DRK DPS job that a lot of DRKs wanted, with a lot of life stealing but maiming level defense so people couldnt tank with it or sub out tanks for it
