Final Fantasy as a Series Is ‘Struggling’ Admits Director – IGN Daily Fix

On today’s IGN The Fix: Games, despite critical praise and commercial success for recent projects like Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy VII Remake, series producer Naoki Yoshida has higher hopes for the franchise. Specifically, Yoshida thinks the series has some catching up to do with the rest of the industry.

EA accidentally listed its $99.99 FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition for the equivalent of six cents on the Indian Epic Games Store, and the publisher will actually honor the price for those who bought it quickly enough.

A YouTuber/streamer has completed the world’s first solo Hell Pacifist Sorceress run in Diablo 2 Resurrected.  The streamer completed the first Hall Pacifist run without using the trading system to obtain character items.

  1. Maybe if they didn’t make us wait half a decade or more between mainline single-player releases instead of spending so many resources on MMO projects like they’ve done between the past couple games it wouldn’t be struggling

  2. They have themselves to blame. The way Final Fantasy 15 (formerly Versus 13) was released and handled was a complete disaster. Don’t release fifty trailers for a game then release it without half the advertised content then cancel the DLC.

  3. It’s their combat mechanics to me. Just awful. If they cannot work out how to do enjoyable active combat then please just go back to turn-based. It’s just embarrassing when compared to From Software that are practically revolutionising action RPGs.

  4. Legend of Heroes Trails series have replaced Final Fantasy as my favorite RPG series. If only they would revert back to turn based maybe Final Fantasy would become my favorite again. Square Enix continues to flunk with their IP. Kingdom Hearts 3 was a disappointment as well.

  5. This is something they should of admitted several years ago, the problems with popping out so many 13 tittles, 14 when it first launched took a long time to be playable which hurt the company financially. And don't get me started on the struggle of 15 which it is a tragic story of how bad things were managed.
