  1. Twisted Metal Black has short stories I think you both will find interesting.
There’s about 12 to choose from. My favorites are Grimm, Sweet Tooth, Outlaw and Crazy 8. It’s about a man that pins criminals in a car deathmatch in able to grant one wish for the person who wins.

  2. The golf bag thing is badass, hilarious and actually has lore reasons! Garleans (the people that dude, Zenos, comes from) cannot manipulate aether (magic). That device is used to infuse magic into his swords.

  3. Dammit, the music that plays for Endwalker with that singing makes me well up..as i said, i, among many others have played this since its beginning, and to see this chapter finally come to an end after 8 years, it was sad IMO lol.

  4. Endwalker had to be the best Expansion and it had to be the first time I have ever cried in a game😆, And hello you two it’s been sometime, I just saw you two were watching these and had to come see lol, But the scythe wielding character with the blue around him was the Reaper class which is my main class, Where you get a voidsent avatar being that can help you in battle or you can let it possess you to grow stronger, But anyways pardon my Excessive Edgelord rant😆

  5. Shadowbringers is definitely the best in the Hydyaelyn/Zodiark storyline — in my opinion, anyway. That expansion just takes all the emotion you've experienced up to that point and increases it ten-fold — it was amazing!

  6. These Launch trailers are great but mainly focused on the players since they show some upcoming story parts as well as some bombshell revelations that u'd only understand in the contect.
And l think this is the ideal game to play together at your own pace, know multible couples who have been tackling the game together and its always heartwarming to watch.(Look up Cobrak for a example)

  7. This was such a fun reaction to see! If you all come back around to more FFXIV content, you should check out the Patch trailers next! They're the inbetween content between these releases with their own respective trailers!

  8. The music to FFXIV is amazing. Do you know La Hee?

Soken is beyond another level. Especially the song he wrote from the hospital battling cancer: To the Edge.

  9. I understand your criticisms. The difference between FF14 and WoW is that FF14 tells the story inside the game, while WoW tells the story in more self-contained trailers and cinematics.

  10. If y'all don't already you should play final fantasy 14 together. It's free up until you finish the second expansion so you have a ton of time to decide if you wanna keep going. The story is amazing

  11. If you do want to try the game, you can with no monetary investment. They have a really great free trial. You get access to A Realm Reborn and Heavensward and can level every class/job from those expansions to level 60.

It should give you more than enough time to see how you’d feel about the story.

  12. I never watched the endwalker launch trailer to avoid spoilers so this was my first time actually seeing it. As soon as I heard the music I started to tear up. What a damn story and journey.

  13. This is mostly to Mrs. Bethany. But I doubt you'll really find a video that'll get you into FFXIV enough short of playing it to be honest. The scope of what you think the game is truly about gets busted open more and more as time goes on, and over the many years for many of us, it's became one of the greatest games and stories ever made. The bonds you feel with your fellow Scions, NPCs as they are, the trials and tribulations, the almost crippling falls and fantastic highs you feel will never truly be felt without being able to get into the head of your warrior of light.

  14. You guys should try the free trial, it covers A Realm Reborn and Heavensward. That provides a lot of the experiences you can get before committing to buying the game. If you get into it, Endwalker wraps up the story told since ARR and people who are caught up with 6.1, which is the current patch in the expansion are basically in what can be considered FFXIV-2. It's a long narrative and great experience that I will echo all the previous comments that I read before making my own.

  15. The free trial is back so you can play for free (with small limitation) up to the end of heavenward. If you stay on the free trial there is no time limit, unlike sub which will run out. So if you would like to try the game you can go at your own pace. The developers also updated a realm reborn to be played with trust npc (npc that replaces other player in dungeon.)

  16. Also, technically..it’s not a ‘trilogy’. The story we’ve known since ARR is over but they’ve promised us another 10 years of updates and expansions.

Where we go from here? Who knows, but I’m afraid lol.

  17. I'm glad you liked this! I hope you will try it. After all, the first two YEARS of game content is free. Cant beat that price. Just be warned, the first chapter, A Realm Reborn, is the slowest part of the game. If you do decide to play, remember this: Ignore side quests. You don't need them. They just make the game more sluggish. Just stick with the main story. =]

  18. It's difficult to get context from these videos because there's just SO much story. For example, the reveal (long suspected by the fandom) that Zodiark and Hydaelyn were primals was a really big deal, if you know the story. Seeing Y'shtola getting cut in half by Zenos in the Stormblood trailer and not knowing if she was getting killed off, and pretty much EVERYTHING in Endwalker's trailer, after year and years of the story building towards it.

The launch trailers are mostly made for fans of the series, I think. While the cinematic trailers are made for both fans, and to pique the interest of people unfamiliar with the series to draw it in by rule of cool.

Zenos carried around multiple blades because he's SO strong that the swords just don't last. His strikes are so powerful that the swords break all the time, so he carries around multiple replacement blades that he can attach to his hilt and keep fighting when the first blade breaks.

  19. Watching the trailers is imo not the best way to get an idea of the story. It includes some spoilers, but you won't understand the spoilers because the story of the game is so long and continuously builds on itself, so the trailers (particularly the latter ones you saw in this video) expect you to know the characters involved and have an emotional attachment to them already and be able to pick up on small visual hints about what's happening while seeking not to give too much away. Honestly, I started playing as a way of spending time with my then boyfriend and it took me a long time to get invested in the story since I was focused on the social game experience and kinda skipped through a lot of dialog without reading it so didn't actually pick up what was happening for a while. Honestly you should really just take the plunge and invest time in the game.

  20. Watching this at work on lunch and co-workers are wondering why I'm rubbing away goosebumps and trying not to randomly cry infront of them. 🙃

Such is the impact of FFXIV's story. 😭

  21. There's also the benchmark trailers for each expansions that shows off more of the monsters and locations and stuff, as they are little demos for pc version players to see if they can run it on their setup

  22. Unfortunately the only way to get the novel side of things is just to play it. This game's community right down to how it's advertised is heavily about keeping spoilers unspoiled

  23. hi loved the reaction and im curious to know of what would you think of Dissidia Final Fantasy game trailer. since its really one of my favorite games of final fantasy. For those that don't know this game in particular is something like isekai in anime, the heroes and villains that appear in this game are from the diferent final fantasy "worlds" for example cloud and sephiroth are from final fantasy seven and are both summons by to opposing gods from a different world along others from diferente Final Fantasy to fight the opposing gods champions to determine a victor for the gods since they are Botha on equal terms of strength they decided to fight this way. and much more. In short would love it if you could react to his game trailer and not sure if you could play it on ps4 nor xbox. unless you have a old psp wich is my case.

  24. I don't want to be mean , but as I alluded to you in the cinematic trailers comment section , these trailers are not really meant for you as a random person off the street per say , they are not intended to be like movie trailer coming to a theater near you or even a preview of a streaming service show , they are meant for fans and players looking forward to next expansion looking to get a taste of what's to come and general plot beats .

If it seems rather incomprehensible to you, I would suspect it would be , between each of these expansions is about five patches with several hours of story spread out over the course of about a year or so , that further the story and lead to the next expansion, and this how FFXIV has narratively and developmentally progressed.

You just went over about 4 or 5 years of story content , so no you probably won't get it or understand anything , be like skipping large sections of a long running tv show , you can't understand why characters are in certain situations or why they are reacting to certain people like they completely hate their guts .

If you really want to understand FFXIV , you really need to play the game .

  25. I loved when you watch the cinematic trailers and it was interesting to see your reaction to the launch trailers. It is a nice contrast. It actually makes sense when you think the Cinematic trailers are the ones you show to new people to get their first step into the game. The launch trailers are more for the players already in the game with the lore and character build up with the twists and knowing who's voice you are listening to.

  26. Whenever you post content, you can expect the fans of that IP to come out of the woodwork and say how great something is, so it's expected that you should take things with a grain of salt. Otherwise you'll be flooded with things to try out that everyone say is "the best thing ever" and the term loses all meaning.

Saying that though, with all sincerity; FFXIV is one of, if not the best MMO stories out there. It starts out as a typical MMO with fetch quests and cartoony villains, but somewhere along the way finds its feet and turns into a deep examination of the human condition. It is also morally grey as hell, with every villain being the hero of their own story, and conflict arising naturally. The NPCs that guide and join you on your journey; learn, grow, change, move on, and even die. They feel like real people with their own internal lives and relationships apart from the hero.

When the people in the comments here say these trailers or the music brought them to tears, they are not joking. That's practically the norm, not the exception. There are a lot of good and sad memories tied up in these clips. The story deals with hope, freedom, forgiveness, and self sacrifice; idolatry, imperialism, revenge, and nihilism. Noble highs, and dark lows.

I'm not going to tell you you need to play this game, but there is a saying that has proven true: "You either quit during A Realm Reborn, or you make it to Heavensward and become a walking advertisement for the game"

Thanks for sharing your reactions, and I look forward to the next one. 🙂
